Teaches set-up, how to deal with choreography, tone, acoustics etc.
I started learning piano by the age of 4. Started composition by the age of 5. At the age of 12, I started guitar and never turned back. Music was always the ULTIMATE escape. To me there's nothing that compares to the feeling I get after completing a song, or the rush of a good performance. I decided that I'd rather do nothing else in life but music. After high school I went to the famed Musicians Institute in Hollywood, CA., where I was taught by the most amazing musicians I've ever known. Some of the teachers who influenced me were Dan Gilbert from the Guitar World magazine, and David Oakes who trained with Andre Segovia (famed classical guitarist). After that, I continued with my Bachelors in Music at ENMU. My influences are a wide range. I love any music with shred guitar. Anything virtuosic is what I love. I enjoy playing everything
from Latin, classical, blues, all the way to heavy metal. I have a lot of on stage experience that has served me well, and my mission is to give back the inspiration that has been my love for music.
*** Lesson Details *** The most important thing with any instrument is that you're enjoying what your doing. If you're not having fun with guitar, then you're probably not going to stick with it. I teach beginning to advanced guitar and my students really enjoy the lesson plans. My lessons vary from student to student depending on what they want to accomplish, and what they need to succeed. After the student reaches a certain level I get them to play with other musicians. Sometimes I'll bring in my drummer and hop on the bass so the student can get the feel of playing with a full band! I expect a lot from students and they seem to have no problem delivering,
*** Studio Equipment *** Home studio- includes amps, guitars and recording equipment. Custom built computer designed for studio use. Pre-sonus Firepods. Focusrite Sapphire pro 26. Ton's of pedals. Pro Tools 10 Professional
*** Travel Equipment *** I have backup amps and guitars just in case. I bring all the materials for the lesson plans to the student's home.
*** Specialties *** classical, rumba, metal, classic rock, hard rock, shred, Brazilian, fusion, blues, and most Latin styles.
Brandon is a great teacher and I definitely recommend! He's tailored the lessons right away to my music interests and skill level while still taking time to focus on the techniques I need to learn for bass. I've had a few lessons online and have already learned way more in these few weeks than I would ever have learned on my own. The online format works great for my schedule.

Brandon is a great teacher. I had my first lesson with him yesterday and he can play and takes the time to show you exactly what you are doing. I was skeptical of an online lesson with a teacher but it was a blast and in my first lesson I learned a lot of valuable things that I can put in my toolbox. I look forward to learning and to keep taking lessons. Oh and practicing! Highly recommend Brandon.

My first lesson with Brandon was a really instructional and inspiring interaction. Brandon listened to my goals and inspired me to become disciplined in practicing every day. His future classes and goals for me where explained after the first class. Both he and I have an understanding of where I want to be in the future and I know he will do everything he can to help me achieve my goals. Thanks Brandon!
Learn the elements of a good solo or group performance.
*Disclaimer* I'm currently not taking beginner students on voice/singing, guitar, bass, drums, piano, and ukulele. I highly recommend my studio partners Melissa though. Please check out her profile:
I've been playing with classical ensembles and rock bands since 2001. Even though I started on classical trombone and rock guitar, I have come to expand my repertoire to a variety of instruments and genres. During my time in college I performed with the University choir, orchestra, and band. I also have organized, wrote/arranged for, and performed with a variety of bands in my home state of New Mexico, as well as Japan, and the San Francisco Bay Area.
Since 2006 I have been an active teacher. This profession has taken me everywhere from working with classical guitar cla
sses in New Mexico high schools to Elementary students in Japan to a variety of private students of various musical instruments and genres everywhere I've been. Since relocating to the Bay Area in 2010, I've had the pleasure of working with lots of great students from kids to adults with a wide range of ambitions. Since 2012 I've been running my own full time studio.
Philosophy of Learning
Lessons are generally designed to work towards giving students the tools to accomplish their goals and become increasingly independent over time. While all students will study similar fundamentals regarding technique, theory, and performance, every lesson is as different as every person. What kind of music do you want to make? I'll tell you what you need to do to get there, and help you take the steps to achieve your aspirations. It's really important to know though that everyone makes their own experience. The process of learning music involves you learning as much about your own mind and body as it does any external concepts, so please keep in mind only you can move yourself forward.
I also love to help students put together a song, record, and produce it for them so that they can have a recording to share with their friends and family.
I also hold events for my students. (Check out our pictures and videos below!) Younger students have opportunities to perform for friends and family at my studio every few months. Adult students also occasionally have events where they get a chance to get together and play music as well.
Aside from in-studio lessons, students also have the option to sign up for online lessons via Skype. (*Online lessons offered during different times than in-studio lessons.)
*Unfortunately due to scheduling issues, I'm not currently accepting students for bi-weekly lessons. I can do regular weekly lessons, or occasional drop-in lessons, but bi-weekly appointments make it really hard for me to give the best scheduled times to my existing weekly students. I'm sorry for the inconvenience.
My studio is equipped with:
*A P.A. System
*Vocal and instrument microphones
*Guitars, Basses, Ukulele, Banjos, etc
*Two guitar amps and a bass amp
*Various percussion including a fully equipped acoustic drum set
*A Roland V-Drums electronic drum set
*An electric piano console and Yamaha organ

*A recording system that students are not only welcome to use but encouraged to
*HD Webcam and condenser microphone for high fidelity online lessons via Skype
Jesse has given directions on how to successfully become a better musician. His approach and explanation on musical theories was much more understandable than what I was previously reading. Overall, I found the lessons to be very usefull.

I have been singing for as long as I can remember. It is my very favorite activity. I have transformed my love of singing into a career.
I have been teaching music lessons for over 25 years. When you study with me you will have the advantage of that experience. I have extensive experience teaching students of all ages. Throughout my teaching career I have taught students with varied backgrounds and diverse needs. If you are a person who was told not to sing by your music teacher, don't give up! I have taught many children and adults to match pitches and improve their singing voices.
I earned a Bachelor of Music in Music Education from Moravian College and a Master of Music in Vocal Performance from Temple University. While at Temple, I studied standard vocal repertoire and Early Music. I have also completed graduate course
s in Early Childhood and Elementary Education at West Chester University.
I served on the faculty of Suburban Music School for 17 years where I taught voice, piano and recorder lessons. I also directed the Children’s Choir and the Women’s Choir. I was formerly on the faculty of Delaware County Community College where I taught courses in the Music Department; and of Temple Music Prep where I instituted, developed and maintained a vocal program at Temple University’s Ambler Campus.
In addition to teaching I was employed for eleven years as a chorister at Christ Church Christiana Hundred in Greenville, DE where I have had the opportunity to sing for such notable conductors as John Rutter, Sir David Wilcox, Sir Philip Ledger, Stephen Cleobury, and James O’Donnell. Previous choral work has included singing for Dr. Ifor Jones and for Michael Korn. I perform in solo and chamber music recitals throughout the Philadelphia area and in Cape May, NJ and with a Celtic group called Celtic Women and Friends.
*** Lesson Details *** Voice Lessons
When you study voice with me, you will start with the basics - posture, breathing and tone production. If you have studied before, we will review these areas and brush up on anything that needs work. The next step is to learn some vocal exercises to warm up and develop your voice. When the exercises are going well, we will begin to work on songs. You will need to learn some classical songs because they help to develop your voice, but we will also work on the kind of music you like best. In addition to songs, we will work on solfege (do, re, mi, etc.) which helps to train your ear and to improve your sightreading ability. If you don't know how to read music I will teach you that. If you read music but have some gaps in your knowledge, we will fill those in.
I teach what is called bel canto (beautiful singing). It is a healthy vocal technique that will help you avoid vocal problems. When you learn to sing with this technique, you can sing any style of music you want. After a few months of study, you should be able to tell that your voice is growing stronger, that you have better breath control, and that your range is increasing.
Although I have high expectations of my students, I am relaxed and friendly. If you love to laugh, we will enjoy that together!
When you study piano with me you will enjoy playing a variety of songs from your lesson book. As you advance, we may add a repertoire book which increases the number and variety of songs you play. There are many excellent piano methods. I use different methods for different students, depending on their needs.
Lessons will include posture and proper hand position, warm-ups, songs and music theory. Music theory is the study of notation and how music is put together. You will have a workbook with exercises for this study. If there is a particular style of music you would like to play, we will look for music at your level to add to your lesson. After a few months of study, you should know how to read basic notation and be able to play a number of songs. You will also have increased your knowledge of musical notation and harmony.
I expect my students to practice in preparation for their lesson every week. I am relaxed and friendly, so that should help to put you at your ease.
*** Studio Equipment *** Piano, music stand, stereo equip, seating for parents
*** Specialties *** I specialize in teaching the bel canto style singing. With this technique, a person can sing any style of music she or he chooses.
My granddaughter Kayla really enjoyed her first singing lesson. She was a bit nervous at first, but Barbara made her feel relaxed. Kayla felt that Barbara was patient with her and answered her many questions. Kayla is looking forward to next week and thing she can learn to help her sing better.
December 15, 2018
My daughter never had singing lessons before. Barbara is great with at explaining things to her. Great experience so far!
Individually catered lessons in polishing and preparing material for the stage.
All in-home lessons are an hour minimum.

Lessons are conducted in 30 to 60 minute intervals. Styles studied are in the popular music genre (rock, pop, country, blues and fingerpicking techniques). Young Students: I combine a both classical note reading/theory with learning by ear. I simplify chords to get students playing quickly and to reap fulfillment from the very first lesson.
Adult Students: I provide you with the basics in the first three lessons and resources online to help you get moving quickly. We discuss your specific performance goals and track your progress weekly.
I am a beginner that was stuck with not knowing what to do with the knowledge I had from online sources, ie chords, scales and phrasing. Everything I did sounded the same because of my strumming patterns were all the same. Aimee got right to work in just the right area to help me hear new sounds by different strumming patterns. I am very pleased with Aimee's teaching style and environment. Looking forward to second lesson.

Came in there and learned exactly what I wanted to learn. Was ultra stuck at moving past 8 bars and Aimee helped me get past that. Now I'm finishing full arangements all thanks to her.

Fantastic teacher. Amazing lesson plans. Really really happy with it
Getting the notes right is crucial. Your performance of those notes is equally as crucial. Our favorite performers have more than just the ability to perform notes though they connect with the work they are presenting and the audience they are presenting it to. I've been performing for over 25 years and would love to help you with your performance technique. We'll work on stance, delivery, emotional connection, and creative visualization to help you deliver your best possible performance. I also specialize in helping one overcome stage fright / performance anxiety. I can help you develop the tools necessary to find a relaxation state and that helps you reach your utmost performance potential.
I was born and raised in Los Angeles but I've just recently relocated to the Bay Area. I am a Professional Musician/Songwriter/Vocalist teaching songwriting, voice, and performance technique as well as a combination thereof. I began singing at a very young age for anyone who would listen (so my parents tell me) and began taking music lessons shortly thereafter. I am now a USC graduate and have also studied music privately for over 25 years as well as at the esteemed Vocal Power Institute. I've professionally released several albums and I am grateful to have had my music featured/licensed by Starbucks, NBC, The CW network, NikeWomen.com, and MTV. I've toured extensively playing to audiences across the country and have had the honor of sharing the stage with artists ranging from Conor Oberst, Inara George, Johnette Napolitano, Martha Wain
wright, to Jackson Browne. I have experience teaching both adults and children, and enjoy teaching beginning as well as intermediate to advanced students. In addition to teaching privately, I have experience teaching children through my volunteer work with The Girls Rock Alliance, a non-profit organization that aims to teach young girls about self-confidence and self-expression through music education.
*** Lesson Details *** I am easy-going, friendly and I believe that developing a great student/teacher rapport is the key to making the most out of the time we spend together. The curriculum I utilize is specifically designed to meet the student's individual needs. Initially we'll spend time assessing where you are and where you'd like to be. Most importantly, we'll set goals and create a lesson plan that will allow you to attain them. We'll work on basic techniques (or intermediate to advanced depending on skill level), for example - breath support, vowel placement, posture, relaxation, the fundamentals of song structure and music theory. We'll also work on the psychology of performance and eliminating any unwanted tension that may arise. We'll choose songs to work on that you'll enjoy singing, or analyze the songs you love in order to discover and/or improve upon your own songwriting abilities.
*** Studio Equipment *** Front music studio area w/ guitars, computer with protools, keyboard, microphone, pa system, and seating for parents
*** Travel Equipment *** I can provide a small keyboard and/or guitar
*** Specialties *** My main musical styles that I perform and teach are Pop, Rock, Folk, and Americana/Country. I specialize in creating a lesson plan that suits the needs of each individual student.
Each lesson includes studies of fundamental techniques, ear training, and music history in order to facilitate the development of a whole musician.
Hello, and thank you for your interest!
My name is Stephanie, I am a teaching-artist from El Paso, Texas. I currently reside, perform and teach in the Boston and greater Boston area.
I am a recent graduate of The New England Conservatory of Music with a Masters and Graduate Diploma in Saxophone Performance. I received my Bacherlors in Music Education from New Mexico State University.
“A teaching artist, by definition, is a two-career professional: a working artist and a working educator. As a working artist is they are involved in an ongoing process of discovery, problem solving, discipline and refinement of skills in their discipline. As a working educator, it is essential that the artist is also developing a knowledge base and skills to be an effective partner in education. Achieving a meaningful balance between these two prof
essions, whereby one feeds the other, is an ongoing process that requires a deepening awareness for the teaching artist of what their teaching brings to their art and what their art teaches them about learning.”
I am devoted and dedicated to helping find each of my students' strengths, weaknesses and style of learning. Once I have identified these traits, I am able to develop lessons and repertoire that helps each students become the most efficient learner and best musician they can be.
I pride myself in creating a fun and safe learning environment in which I establish a firm musical foundation for my students. Lessons include: scales, etudes, articulation, dynamic and sight reading exercises, standard repertoire, recording and analyzing performances, music history lessons, and exploration of the sounds, genres and artists of saxophone/flute/clarinet/piano.
Simultaneously, my students cultivate many other skills while learning how to play their instrument. Students enhance their fine motor skills and ability to memorize, students increase their overall self-confidence and become self-sufficient and creative problem solvers. I am passionate about educating and empowering my students and I enjoy connecting with a wide array of musicians of all ages, playing levels and backgrounds.
Feel free to contact me to inquire about lessons, I hope to hear from you soon!
I'm an older student (old actually) who started piano 2 years ago with Stephanie . She is great for a beginning student. Knows how to teach. Is encouraging, but demanding enough to keep me on my toes. Just wonderful and a thoroughly lovely person.
October 30, 2017
Stephanie is a patient, knowledgeable, enthusiastic educator and collaborator who loves to perform and teach. I had the honor of working with her for nearly four years while we pursued similar degrees at New Mexico State University. She consistently brought a level of maturity and preparedness beyond her age to our rehearsals and practices. If I was limited to only one word to describe her, it would be "professional".
September 21, 2017
I very much enjoyed my lesson!
Stephanie is very personable and patient! Can't wait until next week!
Do you need help with memorization, nerves, or stage presence? Perhaps you have upcoming performances you need to prepare. I've had to do and teach it all, and my students have all performed well. I can help you, too! Let's get you feeling more comfortable on stage! This is a Performance class for any instrument or voice. Even speeches!
Hello! Thank you for your interest in my profile. I teach piano, horn, trumpet, theory & ear training, and coach ensembles, performance class as well as music and movement class for ages 0-6, and drum circle and cultural literacy for adults.
I am a graduate of the Curtis Institute of Music, and I've played all over the world. I've played with soloists from Frank Sinatra to Diana Ross, Frankie Valli and the 4 Seasons to Luciano Pavarotti and Placido Domingo. I still perform and consider this important to my teaching as well.
Some major accomplishments include an invitation to the White House, over 50 solo performances with orchestras starting with The Philadelphia Orchestra at age 15, a performance for the Princess of Thailand, and early television performances starting at age 7. In order to accomplish these things, I had great teach
ers, a regimen of discipline and practice, an expectation I have of my students, and all the rewards that have lasted a lifetime. Properly taught music lessons are life lessons and are never a waste. I incorporate fun into the lessons as discipline and fun must be combined for success and enjoyment at all levels.
My teachers included Eleanor Sokoloff, Susan Starr, and Dale Clevenger.
I've taught for 29 years, and have a proven track record of success. I've taught at Universities including The University of Notre Dame, The University of Tennessee, The Chinese University and the Academy of Performing Arts in Hong Kong. I adore my students. Each one needs to be assessed and taught differently. Something you cannot learn in school, only through years of experience!
I teach in Avondale-Kennet Square-Chaddsford, Hockessin-Wilmington,, DE, Newark, DE, with possibility of travel 10 minutes away. Please note: If you want in home piano lessons, you need a working instrument, and must maintain the tuning.
While I had previous experience playing an instrument MANY years ago, I never played the piano and started taking lessons with Lori as an adult. In almost no time I was able to read the bass clef (left hand) notes and within the year I had learned all the scales (majors and relative minors - both harmonic and melodic) and arpeggios (root and inversions). I was also playing "real" pieces of music.
Lori stresses good technique and good practice habits and can suggest more than one way to master a concept. She also makes learning the piano fun.
February 8, 2016
She taught me some important techniques on the piano.
"Where can I start I don't Know but what I do Know for sure, this guy is very kind and patient. He's a great teacher who has lots of patient with me. I am
so glad I have you as my instructor thank you Henri B.
Instruction is always individualized and positive. He always looks for what you do best and helps you develop your strengths. He works with you to overcome your weaknesses. Taking classes with him is a great pleasure."
"Great violin teacher!
Jill is a colleague and friend that I've known for many years. She is a wonderful violinist and one of the most experienced violin
teachers of students of all ages that one can find. Especially gifted in working with young children, Jill is extraordinary in her ability to connect with kids. She sets her students up with beautiful violin technique and inspires in each one a love for music. Jill is a wonderfully kind person with so much talent for playing and teaching violin. She comes highly recommended by anyone who has known and worked with her!"
"I have wanted to work with Jan since I saw her as a judge at the LAMN JAM Music Contests, her feedback to the artists was always spot on and I wanted to h
ear what she might have to say about my work and her suggestions. I have been lucky enough to have taken lessons and workshops with Jan for a couple months now and it has definitely had a big impact on my confidence as well as making me aware of what I need to work on. It is great to put yourself in a situation where a professional will be honest with you and help give you the tools to better your performance, this is exactly what I get out of working with Jan. You can sing out as much as you want, but listeners, friends and family usually just tell you how great you are and its hard to grow that way. Jan is kind but straightforward on what you need to do to better yourself as a performer. I highly recommend studying with Jan!"
"Mrs. C is a dedicated and accomplished musical performer and teacher who shares her enthusiasm while providing the foundations of musical education to you
ng learners. As a wife and mother with two children of her own, Mrs. C is certainly a woman you can trust to provide professionalism and care when dealing with students. Highly recommended to children of all ages - even teens and young adults - who hope to cultivate and develop their musical passion into a skilled hobby."
"Keanon did a great job with catering to each singer's style in the group workshop. He is highly knowledgeable about singing and gives great pointers to ma
ke your song sound better. I highly recommend a vocal session with him if you plan singing for an audition, a performance, or if you just want to sing for fun!"
"Marissa has been great in developing me as a singer and a musician. She's really easy to talk to and really knows what shes talking about! I can tell I'm
getting better after each lesson! Marissa makes music fun!!!"
"I am a math/science nerd and do not have much experience in proper singing, less in stage performance. After reading Benjamin's profile, I was very positi
ve that he had the right personality and teaching style suited for me. My guess was correct! I have enjoyed every single of the 10-15 lessons with him and look forward to many more. Teaching how to sing is much more than just giving instructions and demonstrating correct techniques. Even a YouTube video can do that. You hire a mentor so that he/she can criticize what you are doing wrong and create exercises customized to fix such malpractices. Benjamin has been doing exactly that. Additionally, he has been helping me improve on my stage etiquette, as well as performance skills. His sessions are also thoroughly entertaining, and he puts you under right amount of pressure, allowing you to be motivated without feeling embarrassed. I started as an amateur singer and planned to pursue singing as a hobby at best, but now I hope to turn singing into an avocation. I am happy to recommend Benjamin to anyone looking for singing and stage performance lessons!"
"Simply amazing. Best decision I've made in a long time."
"Amazingly Talented Teacher
Steve has been a friend and fellow musician for 15 years. I have been privileged to learn from him every time we play together
. He has a vast knowledge of music theory and extreme talent on all the instruments he plays. His teaching approach is fun, relaxed and most importantly, he understands that each student is different and adapts his methods to the individual. I highly recommend him for all ages and abilities."
