The violin is easily recognizable and very popular. Violin lessons include theory, technique, repertoire, and more. We'll work together to design a lesson plan that works for you and your learning style.
I began my musical journey with a recorder at the age of 3, and grew from there. I tried out several instruments, including French horn and piano, before finding the violin, and later the viola.
In 2018, I moved with my family from California to Texas, and found even more of what I love: music! Fort Worth is a music-loving area, and I'm happy to be here.
I began teaching began by accident when my twins entered a TK program. Their teacher asked for help with music - how could I turn down that request? I successfully wrote and taught the music program that I used for K-2 grade students at that school, and now teach violin and viola to beginner through intermediate students, advanced for viola.
I specialize in working with younger children, but love teaching kids of all ages (even adults!).
As a teacher, I am flexible and fun-lo
ving. I believe that music should always be fun, even when it's hard. I help foster a lifetime love of music, and work with him/her to design a custom program just for them.
I'm classically trained, but love all music, especially baroque, renaissance and Celtic styles. Medieval and renaissance music has a special place in my heart because I spent several years playing it as part of a string quartet.
I am available for online lessons all over the world, and I'm happy to record them so you can review them all week long.
*** Lesson Details *** A typical lesson consists of checking student's progress, addressing any immediate issues, and developing technique/knowledge.
In 3-6 months, your child should be: * Reading music consistently at a level appropriate to their progress. * Developing an understanding of rhythm and meter. * Placing their fingers properly for the most part. * Developing correct posture and holding their instrument and bow in a relaxed manner that suits their body type and facilitates the freedom of movement required for making great music.
I specialize in working with kids of all ages - from 5 to 95!
My son was excited about Ms Gail’s knowledge of the viola.

I Love my lessons with Ms. Gail! She makes the lesson fun and is always encouraging me to step out of my comfort zone and try an exercise before a scheduled lesson. I would highly recommend Ms. Gail!

Gail is a terrific instructor. She constantly recognizes your successes (however big or small ) and challenges you to do better. She has an amazing ability to know when you need to take a different approach to your music. Every musician or student is different and she adapts her techniques to variety of levels of learning.
I teach beginner and intermediate violin students helping them develop their bow technique and intonation.
About Yoon Jae
I am a highly-skilled professional musician certified as a certified Steinway education partner with over 14 years of teaching experience. I offer lessons in classical piano, violin, viola, conducting, arranging/orchestration as well as private tutoring in ear training and theory.
My main instrument is piano and I specialize in teaching students who already play the instrument and wish to get a more in-depth experience with piano literature by learning new repertoire and developing their technique. I also teach adult beginners and young beginners whose parents have a dedicated commitment to having their children make music an integral part of their education. For all my students, I emphasize the importance of practicing efficiently and developing critical listening skills. This encourages consistent improvement and whatever your perso
nal piano goals and skill levels are, I will help you improve and enjoy playing the piano more. I am very patient, encouraging and supportive of your desire to play the piano better. In addition to piano, I teach beginner and intermediate violin and viola students.
I encourage all my students to perform once or twice a year but this is entirely optional and based on the student's comfort level.
I am available and willing to travel to your home for an extra fee as long as public transportation is available.
Yoon Jae took my requests very much to heart and outlined a system of study which would help me get to the next level. He is very thorough, caring and professional. Also very pleasant to talk to. I highly recommend this excellent teacher!

Yoon Jae is a great instructor. He teaches me the proper way to practice and correct my bad habits. He is very patient and professional.

I'm so glad I ended up with Yoon Jae for my very first violin lesson. He took me through the first steps - as basic as holding the violin - really carefully and not at all condescendingly, even though I'm an adult who never even learned to read music. In fact, he couldn't have been more patient. I'd definitely recommend him to anyone who wants to learn violin in a supportive atmosphere!
I have a big experience teaching students all levels and ages. My goal is to keep the joy of music making for each and every student, but also to make sure you learn and advance after each lesson. I would happily work with you on the music you want, combining it with the specific violin techniques you need to have in order to play the instrument well.
I have been teaching violin from young children to beginner adults for 10 years. I also teach piano for beginner and intermediate levels. I believe that the the music potential comes through discipline, self-motivation and passion. As a teacher, my goal is to get to know each of my students and create individually tailored lessons according to my student's needs and goals. I believe that a strong technical foundation is a key in music making - when a student feels comfortable playing the instrument , they find how much they are capable of doing and what a great joy is this music making process. This is why I put a strong emphasis on the technical aspects. They say "practice makes perfect", but in reality only perfect practice makes your playing perfect, in other words, my goal as a teacher, is to give my students all the right tools to
succeed, when after each lesson you feel you improved your playing and gained new skills, even if its a small one. Lessons are taught using a Traditional method refer to students learning to read music. Whereas the Suzuki Method students learn by ear which I (might) use for very young students age 3-5. For older students I use certain aspects of the Suzuki method but definitely incorporate basic theory and note reading as early as possible. All students will have the opportunity and are encouraged to perform in recitals.
Great violin instructor. She is very patient and persistent in helping to achieve the next level in mastering the violin.

Kseniya is patient, but also pushes my daughter to actually learn how to read music. I'm very pleased after 3 lessons.
May 29, 2018
My son is 11 and never had a music lesson of any kind before. He had fun learning the basic fundamentals that she is so passionate about.
She is really patient and fun to be around. Great environment for anyone of any age.
Do you want to play violin, but feel like it’s too late to start? Do you play already and want some guidance?
Learn to... • Hold the violin comfortably • Develop good pitch and rhythm • Read music and understand theory • Make the most out of practice time • Have fun playing music!
We can work on whatever music you want. I will even make a special arrangement of that song you've always wished you could play so that it's just at your level. Whatever your musical abilities and knowledge, we can work together to get you where you want to be.
I have an M.M. in violin from Cincinnati Conservatory, and a PhD in ethnomusicology from UC Berkeley. I have performed in symphonies, Early Music ensembles, chamber music groups, and international folk dance bands, and I especially enjoy strolling violin. But my true passion is helping students like you have a rich and rewarding experience learning violin.
I look forward to hearing from you!
I grew up in Israel listening to my parents' bluegrass band, and I enjoy playing everything from Old Time fiddle to klezmer. My training is classical, with an M.M. in violin from Cincinnati Conservatory. I believe that solid technique can give you a foundation for learning any kind of music. Although I have a particular course I recommend for beginners, I'm happy to help you learn whatever music inspires you.
I've always liked learning about music too, and I integrate music theory and history into lessons. Understanding the harmonic structure of a piece can help you learn it more easily, and knowing about the composer and the style can give you insight into how it might be performed. Together they create a richer learning experience.
My PhD in ethnomusicology from UC Berkeley allowed me to think about music in a social context, an
d I'm especially interested in violin music around the world. I teach musicianship at UC Berkeley and can also help you with ear training and music theory.
Merav Singer was the teacher for my class Basic Musicianship at UC Berkeley in the summer semester 2019. Merav was helpful, patient and skillful. I came to this class with no music background and English as a foreign language. Merav taught us in an appropriate way and pace so that we were all able to follow. I learned how to conduct the beat and how to sing, and basic elements of music such as staff and musical notation. The atmosphere of Merav’s class was active as she sang with us and used different musical instruments to help us understand better. I enjoyed her class not only because she took good control of the class with her passion and charisma, but also because Merav was very patient. She spent a lot of time after class explaining the material to me over and over again to make sure I could understand the concepts taught in a foreign language. I learned a lot during this summer and I am sure that anyone would enjoy learning information and skills from Merav.

Merav is a gifted violin instructor for all ages and levels. Her insight into the mechanics of violin playing, and ability to create a series of steps to achieve even the more complex aspects of music making, continue to inform my own teaching and performance. Truly, the best teacher is one who gives you the tools to continue to learn on your own long past your studies, and Merav is just that!
September 18, 2019
I had Merav as my teacher the past summer. She is passionate about her work and super patient with students. She believes when you are willing to learn, you can learn music!!! Learning from her is a wonderful experience.
I believe that students should be given an opportunity to be shown how to practice. This is so that when the instructor is not there to guide, the student is able to know step-by-step of what they are supposed to do. Practice sessions should include scales, etudes, and solo repertoire. I will include individualized videos for weekly emails for each lesson with how to break down and practice the scale, section, or piece.

I strive to craft lessons which will give my students a wide base of skills on the violin, although we will be foremost concerned with having excellent technique and a great sound. Beyond that, I can teach you note reading, theory, composition/arranging, and improvisation. If you are interested in learning something other than classical violin, I also have extensive experience in bluegrass, old-time, and jazz fiddle, and can help you develop a unique voice on your instrument. Shoot me a message today to see if we'd be a good fit!
I am a professional violinist, violist, guitarist, pianist, and educator. In addition to recording and touring with my own bands, I regularly arrange and record strings for artists and producers in a wide range of styles, from underground rappers to indie rock bands to grammy winning pop producers. I studied classical viola and composition at Temple University's Boyer School of Music, and have also studied at the Montreal Conservatory and IRCAM in Paris. I currently teach about 35 students a week ranging in ability from beginner to advanced, and ranging in age from 4 to 64. My versatility, experience, and formal training ensure a fun and engaging learning experience, catered towards what YOU want to learn (with some suggestion/encouragement from me of course).
I've studied classical viola for 13 years, with some training in bluegrass
and old-time too. I've also received training in jazz and rock guitar, and have been trained in the Taubman Method on piano, allowing me to teach my students to play with confidence and ease, without fear of injury later on.
Students can expect to receive top notch training in technique and theory. All students will also receive training in improvisation in a variety of styles, so that they can not only play and understand other people's music, but create their own too. Students interesting in writing/recording will also have the opportunity to write and record a song with me, and learn all my best tips and tricks along the way!
Some styles I regularly give lessons in: Rock, Classical, Jazz, Pop, Bluegrass, Folk, Country, Punk, Indie Rock, and Blues.

Keri has over 20 years of experience teaching Classical, Jazz, Bluegrass, Celtic, Pop, and Rock music for the violin! The thing Keri loves the most about teaching is being able to pass along her experience and knowledge to her students, and help them see their musical goals recognized. She believes that age does not matter when it comes to music, and has taught many students of all ages over the course of her career. Wherever you are at in your musical ambitions, Keri will meet you there and help you come up with a realistic game plan that is FUN, exciting, and achievable.
More about Keri... Keri has loved music for as long as she can remember. She started piano lessons at age 4, and eventually switched to violin at age 8. At 10 years of age, she was accepted as a 1st violinist into the Napa Valley Youth Symphony. She spent the next
eight years honing her craft, learning as much as she could, and had the incredible experience of performing at Carnegie Hall in New York City with the Napa Valley Youth Symphony her Junior year of High School.
While Keri always nerded out listening to Bluegrass and Celtic tunes and learning them by ear (entire albums!) for fun, she practiced multiple hours every day studying classical technique and started composing and arranging her own pieces of music in high school.
Keri received her B.M. in Jazz Studies from Sonoma State University in 2015, and graduated with Distinction. Her musical goals have been centered around being diverse, open-minded, and adaptable, which has helped her cross many genres, play as a guest in several local bands, and adapting her style to whatever was necessary in the moment.
Keri received a Telly Award in 2015 for playing violin and singing the music on a Toyota Commercial, spent six years in the band "Anadel" as the violinist, background vocalist, and writer/arranger (releasing three albums), and eventually started composing music alongside a team of five other composers for TellTale Games: The Walking Dead. She also composed music for a few TellTale Games trailers, including one for "The Wolf Among Us". Keri has been featured on numerous albums (as player, producer, and arranger), and is currently spending her time writing and producing her first solo album, set to release in January 2020.

As a beginner violinist, chances are you’re eager to play easy violin songs that will show off your new skills. While playing "Twinkle Twinkle Little Star" is nice, you're probably looking for some more popular tunes.
Luckily, there are plenty of easy violin songs to choose from, many of which you might already know. Before you jump into learning these violin songs however, it's important to make sure your instrument is in tune.
