cal ideas. A dedicated collaborator, Ryan bring his personality and passion for experimentation to each project, while always working to serve the vision of each employing artist.

Lesson Mission:

Ryan takes his time and tailors my lessons specifically to my level and to the type of music I’d like to play. He covers everything from the basics – like the proper way to hold the pick – to more advanced teachings like music theory. Ryan is flexible, patient, easy going, and he consistently teaches at a pace that I’m comfortable with. He provides take-home practice after every lesson and always has helpful suggestions any time I have questions. What I find incredibly helpful is that at the end of the lesson Ryan will run through the take-home practice on his guitar and let me record it on my phone so it’s easier for me to remember. When I’m ready to practice the next day I just pull up his notes and the video and I’m ready to go!

It’s obvious that Ryan has a passion for music, and it shows in his lessons. I would easily give him my highest recommendation.

I was a self-taught guitar player until i studied music at UMASS Lowell where i learned about reading music and theory. I can give a unique approach to teaching by utilizing aspects of ear training and note recognition. I also have much experience in improvisation from studying jazz and playing in an improvisational band where listening and reacting to one another are key. I also go through lesson books such as the Suzuki books up to the real book.

About Tyler

I am a very passionate music teacher, it's really who I am. I thrive off of opening the doors of music to people and teaching them a foundation upon which to grow. I graduated from UMASS Lowell with a Bachelors in Music Performance in 2014 and have 6 years of teaching experience in and around the Boston area. I play and manage a band called Skyfoot and have for about 3 years now. I have played in 35 different states, playing with all kinds of musicians across the United States. The times I spent playing and learning from the musicians at school and on the road have been some of the most insightful of my life.

Been meeting with Tyler for 4 lessons now and cannot give anything but the highest praise for him. Before we began we set the outline for what
I wanted to do and how he could help - the planning was good but the execution far exceeded anything I could hope for. His insight, technical ability, and highly positive attitude makes him the perfect partner to "re-introduce" me to the guitar (35+ year break in playing). Cons: initially opted for 1/2 hour lesson - too short. Pros: understands my goals, appreciates the musical genre that is important to me, great balance between teaching during the lesson and giving me things to work on on my own, very positive and encouraging attitude....and many more "pros". My suggestion is - if you are thinking of going with him give him a call - very easy to talk to and you will likely find out what I have found - Tyler is top notch!!

I've taken guitar lessons from a few teachers and Dan is the best fit I've ever had. He is very patient and does a fantastic job of tailoring lessons to individual needs. He clearly loves to play music and is very thoughtful about how he shares this knowledge in his lessons. He never fails to encourage me as a guitar player and reinforces a 'can do' attitude. His positive and calm demeanor also make for a fantastic instructor. Thank you, Dan.

Dave
"At 39 I decided it was time to learn to play guitar, I had wanted to do it for years but just hadn't. So I bought an electric guitar and played around for
a month or so before deciding lessons were in order.

I shopped around for someone cheap, don't do that, they are cheap for a reason. I eventually came across Phil and we hit it off well. He is very well versed in blues and rock music which I was looking for. He knows music theory and breaks it down well. He's a straight shooter and will call you out when you're lazy, but always gives kudos and encouragement when appropriate.

It's nice when your teacher has practical real world experience to back up the teaching. Phil can back up his teaching and truly loves entertaining people, he puts on a great live show.

I would certainly recommend Phil as a teacher as well as a musician. Phil is a "Rock Star"!

Years later I am still playing guitar and now bass with a band several times a week and having a blast.

Thanks Phil."

"Andrew is more than a capable and patient music instructor. He is an outstanding and insightful musician himself. Not only does he listen carefully to wha
t the student wants to learn so that he can carefully tailor the lesson to meet their needs and wants, but he cares more than most and puts his heart, soul and 110 percent effort into making sure each student reaches their goal. Andrew is reliable, knowledgeable, always professional and extremely talented.

I have never been disappointed in Andrew's ability as a musician and teacher. If you hire him for music lessons, you will not be disappointed, and you will learn more than you thought you could... especially if you practice. ;)"

"Great with Kids

Jesse has been very patient and understanding with our shy child. He brings out the best in her and is very encouraging and patient while
she slowly builds her new skills. He has found great ways to keep her interested in learning this difficult instrument. He is easy to get a hold of and always on time."

"Three lesson in an William has exceeded my expectations.

William is a kind talented person and has not only been extremely patience but his teaching
method is making sure I understand what I have to do in order to be successful at learning the guitar.

He has been extremely helpful in providing me with great options in selecting a guitar. Not only did he make great suggestions on what I should purchase but made sure the instrument was in top form by giving it the once over after I made the purchase. William's ability to provide helpful information and the his willingness to share his expertise has gone above an beyond my expectations.

I am looking forward to my future lessons and learning the correct way to learn how to play the guitar.

Thanks William!"

What Age is Best to Start Learning Guitar?

By Suzy S.

Is there a best age for learning guitar? We asked guitar teacher Linda L., who has taught young children, teens, adults, and seniors for her take... I started teaching myself to play the guitar at the age of 14. The book that I used to teach myself featured photos of a 7-year-old girl demonstrating how each chord was to be played. The author of the book told the readers that he had this youn …
