Welcome to my Guitar, Bass Lesson, and Clarinet page. I can provide you with professional, quality, and affordable lessons. I'm very passionate about music, the guitar and bass, and love teaching! I am a Masters Degreed Educator who has been teaching for over 20+ years. I can provide you with lessons on proper technique, music theory, chords, scales, songwriting, and more. I currently teach with Guitar Center/Music Arts in the local area but I am looking for more students to fill out my schedule.

My focus is on providing the best quality lessons for the student and believes in the motto that the customer always comes first. Let me provide you with my professional service and make sure that you are 100% happy. Thank You.

As my guitar student, you will learn any and all facets of guitar playing that interest you: chord strumming, note reading, blues jamming, singing while playing, learning the real guitar parts to your favorite recordings, ... the choice is yours. I hold a B.M. degree from Berklee College of Music and I have been teaching guitar and performing throughout southern New England for more than three decades. I look forward to helping you achieve your musical goals and dreams on the guitar!

Teaching Style
I believe first and foremost in supporting and developing what musically inspires a student’s decision to study and play music. In order to fully develop control, musicality and understanding of the music language, it is important to focus on several components including music theory (scale and harmonic structure/function and rhythm), style, ear-training, reading and performance skills.

Expectations of Students
Like any aspect of life, consistency and patience are two very important qualities to posses when working towards a goal. The duration of each practice session is proportional to the level of the student. Learning how to practice efficiently with your instrument is key for adherence and success in obtaining your goals.

I am a self-taught musician with 15 years of experience playing electric and acoustic guitar. My lessons begin by learning what inspires you as a musician, and working to take you where you want to go! Learning some of your favorite songs is often a great place to start. By learning a variety of music, you'll quickly begin to notice patterns & understand basic theory on what notes work together well. From there, you can apply that knowledge to improvisation, as well as songs you may want to write!

From those first few lessons, there's a million different ways we can explore the guitar together. With my lessons, I offer recording time in my home studio where you can learn how to write, record, produce, and mix fully arranged songs!

I've been teaching guitar for the past 15 years. I help students find their unique musical voice through the study of songs and techniques they are interested in. For younger students I also use the Hal Leonard guitar method books to learn music reading. As students advance we switch to William Levitt's Modern method for guitar for jazz students, or Christopher Parkening's classical guitar method for fingerstyle players. Students should be able to play chords to their favorite tunes within 6 weeks. I teach to inspire passion for music. If you love music it makes it fun to practice. When you practice it makes music fun!

If you are brand-new to the guitar, I'd love to jump right in and teach you a fun song right away during your first lesson. I like making this as fun as possible while you're learning a lot about the guitar. If you already know how to play, I'd like to help you gain a better understanding of how the guitar applies to basic music theory. I want to help you truly gain your independence as a guitar player. In my opinion, there are only two things that really matter when learning how to play the guitar: 1) Having fun and 2) Learning a lot. That's what I hope that you can attain by learning from me.
