I tried to teach guitar in the same manner in which I teach every instrument. First I teach students the rudiments of the instrument. Also I teach them how to read and a bit of music theory. From that point I like to follow the students lead. They bring in songs that they would like to learn, or possibly how to play lead guitar, or how to finger pick. At every point I try to point out general aspects of music that need to be learned from the material that they choose.

The student will be instructed on the basics of proper playing techniques, music theory, and musicianship. They will learn to read music and also play by ear which will make them a well rounded player.

I am versitile in a variety of styles of guitar from rock, metal and pop to classical. Additionally I have experience teaching Suzuki method.

I have been teaching guitar, full time, professionally, for over 10 years. Even if you think you're one of those people that "just doesn't get it" you will, and I can help. From teaching beginners their first chords, to taking advanced players to the next level of chops and understanding, I've been there. Let's rock!

Each lesson is tailored to fit each individual student. We will cover genres of music that is of interest to you, using music you enjoy most so learning the guitar will be fun. Even if you have experience playing guitar, I will be able to show you alternative strum patterns, picking patterns, useful techniques, tricks and short-cuts to make playing easier. This applies to whether you are learning acoustic, classical or electric guitar. I have a blast teaching and my students have fun learning!
