I have been teaching children of all age groups to acquire a solid foundation in violin playing. Whether it be pre-K beginners, or high school students getting ready for college auditions, I will communicate with the students and parents to set a number of goals to achieve.
I also welcome adult students, beginners and amateur enthusiasts alike.

In addition to gaining expertise in the techniques in violin playing, students in my studio will be given opportunities to gain comprehensive music knowledge including theory, sight singing, ear training, and any relevant music history, as the above-mentioned knowledge are indispensable elements in violin playing. Singing and clapping are essential parts of the lesson. When students are equipped with the basics, they can play anything and make the music they want.

Classical, traditional method and Suzuki method. Studied with Dr. John Kendall, founder of the Suzuki method for the United States. Have played with Southern Illinois University orchestra and the St. Louis Symphony exhibition concert. Have performed in Europe, North America and Asia.

Professional violinist with 30+ years’ experience and licensed counselor available for violin/viola lessons. Specializing in Classical, Irish, Scottish, and Norwegian (Hardanger Fiddle) traditions. Experience with a wide-range of children and can accommodate a variety of cognitive and emotional needs.

In teaching lessons, it is my great pleasure to share with students of all ages and skill levels the knowledge that I've gained over 27 years of playing. I firmly believe that anyone can learn anything at any time, given the proper tools!

In our first lesson, we will determine your musical goals and create a realistic path to achieving them. It's my job to help you along this path while keeping things fun.

To maintain focus and week-to-week continuity, I always provide lesson notes to take home. I can also provide recordings of lessons and transcriptions of pieces, if desired.

When I was 20, I thought I should teach the violin. I like this instrument, and I want to share it with more people. Many people think it is not easy to learn, it doesn't start well, and it even pulls my neck. I think I wanted to tell everyone that this is an instrument that's so easy to play and doesn't cause any discomfort and hurt. So I spent many years studying to explore and think about how to teach it the easiest way, especially For beginners, how can they continue to practice. I think that through years of teaching and thinking, I have mastered some good ideas.
