I have been teaching children of all age groups to acquire a solid foundation in violin playing. Whether it be pre-K beginners, or high school students getting ready for college auditions, I will communicate with the students and parents to set a number of goals to achieve.
I also welcome adult students, beginners and amateur enthusiasts alike.
In addition to gaining expertise in the techniques in violin playing, students in my studio will be given opportunities to gain comprehensive music knowledge including theory, sight singing, ear training, and any relevant music history, as the above-mentioned knowledge are indispensable elements in violin playing. Singing and clapping are essential parts of the lesson. When students are equipped with the basics, they can play anything and make the music they want.

If I were to say 15 years on the violin, that would be a shocking time. I did earn my Bachelor’s Degree in Music where I received most of my education in both violin and piano. In my perspective, the violin is such an intricate instrument and I am blessed to work with students in wanting to learn violin. It’s true where putting the hard work in violin takes you where you need to be. It does require Practice! I am willing to work with the student and help them grow in advancing this instrument. Let’s keep in touch!

Beginning students can expect to be given the tools and techniques to build a fantastic foundation for their violin study. This excellent foundation will not only prepare for the technique and skill acquired in an intermediate level, but be able to play their instrument with a beautiful tone. Intermediate students can expect to build upon their skills as well as learn new techniques and further develop their musicality.

Mark Williams was my son, Nicholas' private violin teacher at his elementary school. My son enjoyed lessons and he learned a great deal of aquired skills he needed to play violin. Mr. Williams was able to share his enthusiasm of playing violin with my son. He made my son be more serious when he practiced violin. He allowed my son to have a private concert which encouraged him and gave him confidence. Mr. Williams was a very friendly and encouraging teacher who is able to make his students confident violin players."

The lessons are very good. They are taught the correct way."

I am a cellist, but I wanted to improve my violin skills. Therefor I started taking lessons from Jill. Before that I had observed Jill giving group classes to very young students and I was impressed how good her violin classes were: she has a special way to reach children and to make them follow her instructions. She is very patient and dedicated.
With every lesson, I was improving. Of course we have to practice and the kids need the parent's help at home. But with Jill's help you will have a top notch violin lesson."
