I assist brand new learners as well as those who have considerable experience. From first introduction to the instrument through creating and composing you own score, you'll be well served. I've written my own syllabus after 25 plus years of experience.
The Recital was fabulous- thanks for all your work.
Goals: Since I am also a Life Coach, we really focus on how to accomplish our hopes and desires. We begin by weekly, then monthly and even a yearly goal.
Each week we also focus on something in my STUDENT PAL - mnemonic. Another is TECHNIQUE. Technique is the ability to have proper position, wrist-lifts and finger curve as well as Theoretic knowledge and application.
I started giving out lickable gold stars, you know, the old-fashioned kind? They are for those students who mark their lesson sheet and come prepared... They really seem to enjoy that, and I adore the nostalgia!
It is a great week when students are nearly all prepared and ready for their lessons. This makes both Coach and student more effective and the time together more enjoyable.
Perhaps you are reading
this with both a little excitement and a little concern. Finding the right person for your or your student can be intimidating. A short introduction follows so that you know a little about me and my philosophy which can assist you make an informed decision. If we are a good fit, lessons and learning progress more joyfully.
I have been teaching music, performing music and enjoying music since I was a tiny three-year old. My first piano lessons were at age seven. I have since taught the students of former students! How fun is that?
Music has blessed my life in countless ways and given me opportunities I'd never dreamed of. Teaching at the Young Artists Conservatory of Music; Singing in Carnegie Hall, Performing across Europe and teaching the best students for over 25 years has been a delight.
I believe strongly that those who spend their time and resources for musical education are some of the brightest and most intelligent people around. Each of my students have their own individual goals and reasons for taking music lessons, which we revisit monthly. I believe that my role is to be a support and tool for them/you to accomplish the goals set, working with music that delights and educates.
You want the best teacher, who offers information, example, practice and performance opportunities and then gets out of the way of the student's own "voice" (whether playing or singing) so that they can be free to create their own style.
*** Lesson Details *** In our lessons, we work with a predictable schedule of balance. We have weekly exercises to make strong fingers and or voices, and technique and theory practice to hone skills that will improve our performances, whether they are for others or for our own benefit. Each student of piano can learn how to create and write their own music in time, choose their own pieces to work on, and have a say in their classical and performance goals.
We have a program of advancement, so you and your loved ones can visually see your progress and measure your skills, complete with awards and trophies.
What you learn, has everything to do with your commitment. Practice doesn't make perfect, Practice makes permanent. Only perfect practice makes perfect.
Learning the piano ought to be a JOY. I believe in playing the piano, not 'practicing' it. Enjoy what you do, and you'll do it longer and with celebration instead of duty.
*** Studio Equipment *** Piano - upright; CD player; Music stands; Dozens of music books and lesson materials; flash cards; computer and music writing program; mic and mirror, syllabus.
*** Travel Equipment *** No travel.
*** Specialties *** Over the years I have dabbled in most methods, but finally come to use my own syllabus and musicianship. I can easily adapt to your favourite if that is your desire. I specialize in a total music education, not merely in learning notes. It is like looking in a mirror and only seeing eyes and skin. Music has many facets and we discover all of them.
What is the difference between noise and sound? What makes the difference between the performances of 2 people who are at equal skill level? How do you make yourself stand out above the rest? Let me help you discover the vast difference between playing or singing notes and playing or singing music.
I grew up in a household of 9 where music was always center stage. We would sing as a family in different venues and were often called the VonTrapp family. I have enjoyed singing and performing from a young age. I began studying flute at age 8, after scoring highest in the harmony listening exam and began formal violin lessons at the age of 9. I studied all genres including, fiddle, classical, musical theater and 20th century. I have continued to study violin since then and have performed in many orchestras and small groups, such as Honor Orchestra, the Paradise Symphony, the Yuba College Orchestra, Yuba-Sutter Oratorio Society Orchestra and more. I have been concert master and first stand in many of these. I have also soloed in many and have been the first violinist in quartets for countless weddings and other events. I have also played
in numerous pit orchestras for musicals. I have been in choirs and soloing since I can remember. I have performed and soloed in choirs such as the Yuba-Sutter Oratorio Society, CSUS Chamber Choir, the CSUS Women's Choir and more. I have toured to Victoria, Montreal, Ottowa, Oregon and Washington. I have also been in opera productions such as The Magic Flute, Peleas and Melisande and Die Fledermaus (The Bat) with CSUS Opera. I am a recent recipient of the Saturday Club Scholarship, a prestigious award, and have won many competitions (some repeatedly) both vocally and with violin, such as the Tri-County Competition, Young Artist Competitions, and the California Soloist and Ensemble Competitions. Additionally, I have performed musical theater repertoire and have performed as lead in musicals such as Beauty and the Beast and Into the Woods. I have also soloed repeatedly with the Yuba College jazz band and at churches all around. I have earned my Bachelor of Music in Vocal Performance from CSU Sacramento. I have my Associates Degrees in both Music and Early Childhood Education from Yuba College. Additionally, I have obtained my certificate of completion of training from Music Together, an organization which trains teachers to teach Basic Music Competence (both in tonality and meter), and am currently teaching this curriculum. I have been teaching music privately for over ten years to all ages, genders and abilities. Additionally, I have taught ages 0-5 years in a preschool setting for 7 years and am extremely familiar with developmentally appropriate practices for both preschool and school age, as I am a site supervisor at a child development center with a preschool and after school program. I have had many adult students as well and encourage adults to enrich their lives with music at any age! Additionally, I have experience teaching parent child classes and am familiar with how to teach to the particular needs of each family and student. I'm extremely excited and looking forward to growing as a professional, both teaching and performing, in both the areas of violin and voice and to be instrumental in your musical growth too; I can't wait to share my passion with you and to ignite your passion for music too!
*** Lesson Details *** I have been teaching since 2002 and have loved every minute of it! I teach all ages. I tailor my style of teaching to each student's goals and to what works for you. If you want to learn Taylor Swift music, I won't be giving you arias. On the other hand, if you wish to study classically, I have repertoire appropriate for you. I teach fiddle, classical, orchestral, 20th century and more for violin students and have experience with jazz, classical, musical theater, pop, religious, spiritual, choral, 20th century and more vocally. For violin students, I use the Suzuki method as a pushing off point, a tried and true method used in many countries across the world, though I have other repertoire including fiddle, orchestra, small ensemble, solo, concertos, Christmas, and more. For vocalist, I start with the book, Adventures in Singing. I also have warm ups and exercises to keep you vocally healthy. I will teach you anything you want to learn! I also teach how to read music, theory and harmony, depending on your interest and tailored to your current skill level. I am encouraging and knowledgeable. I will meet you at your current level, be that beginner, intermediate, or advanced. My students can look forward to being encouraged and growing through their time with me. I don't have preset ideas about where you should be in 3-6 months, nor do I have a one size fits all teaching style. Instead, I will work with you individually so that you will become the best musician you can be, meet your goals, and increase your enjoyment and appreciation for music.
*** Studio Equipment *** Lessons in open space, upright piano, digital piano, music stands, metronome, violins available for rent, music, staff paper and computer
*** Travel Equipment *** I expect my students to provide the instrument with all of it's accessories (ie shoulder rest, rosin, bow and case) along with the appropriate level Suzuki book. I have instruments available for rent. My voice students should bring their own music also. I have a piano in my studio along with music stands. Of course, every student must have a pencil and come ready to have fun learning! :)
*** Specialties *** Suzuki, solfege, art songs and arias, reading music, fiddle, classical, healthy vocal technique and musical theater. I am very good at working with any age.
I have been working with Kim for a few weeks and I have learned a tremendous amount and can hear the difference every week as I progress. I enjoy the process she applies to keep it positive and fun yet learn the proper fundamentals required to perform well. I actually tried a few vocal teachers and Kim with her wisdom and experience made it simple who to go with!!

Ensures one has a strong foundation of violin knowledge. Patient and kind. Love this instructor!

Kim can teach you or your child, no matter where you are!
I was 30 when I decided to rekindle my love for the violin. I hadn’t played since before YouTube was invented, and I was skeptical about learning violin online. By the first lesson, Kim had already corrected poor habits I didn’t know I had, just after hearing me play a few scales. She adjusted her teaching style to my personality so seamlessly that I felt I was just getting pointers from a dear violinist friend whose advice is always spot-on. Weekly practice never felt like work, because Kim tailored my assignments to my goals. Before I knew it, I was playing complex concertos I could never do in high school. I started out being able to play just one major scale. Within 10 months, I was in Suzuki Book 4!
I can’t say enough about Kim’s expert teaching skills. During a sight-reading of a very difficult piece, I became so frustrated that I wanted to stop the lesson and try again later. Kim encouraged me until I had gotten all the way through, and pointed out what I could learn from my performance. When I had time to calm down, I realized that Kim can do this for any student; adults, children, and adults whose inner child throws a tantrum when they’re frustrated by a musical challenge. :-)
Teachers like Kim are rare, and worth their weight in gold. I learned so much more than violin fundamentals through my lessons with her. I’m convinced Kim can teach anyone, of any age—even through an online platform.
You might not always notice it, but music is all around—from the stereo in your car to the music piped in at department stores. And you also may not be aware that music has a wide array of impacts on your health: Studies show that music has a strong effect on your mood levels and emotions, and also on how you think and your general intelligence. The music you listen to can have a profound effect on your test scores and your ability to quickly process information. And if you’ve ever played an instrument, studies show that you’re already ahead of the curve. Playing an instrument is a great way to test out your creative thinking and push your brain to process information in a new way. Whether you’re listening or playing, a little music can go a long way. I am here to help you realize not only your playing potential, but guide you into not ju
st becoming a guitar player, piano player, but a musician. I am able to teach Piano, Guitar, Music recording from software/hardware to MIDI, including Sonar, Reason, and related software.
I have studied music at California State University San Bernardino, where I minored in music and learned the immense possibilities of the music field. Music is part of my everyday life, and its an honor to know I can play music but also create it. My goal is to show you as the student how to realize that dream.
*** Lesson Details *** I am a very friendly, fun and patient instructor. I believe that when you take any type of music lesson, it should be to have fun. With fun, passion, and dedication, sky is the limit. The curriculum I like to use are the most simplified forms to teach an instrument. It's about playing smarter, not harder. I do offer recording sessions to my students to track their progress, and give you a copy to keep as memorabilia.
*** Studio Equipment *** Bergman Upright Piano. Fender Acoustic/ Gibson Electric. Marshall Amps. Digital and analog Recording Station.
*** Specialties *** I have in-depth knowledge of classical works, but my emphasis is in modern rock/ Alternative/ Pop. I like teaching the songs you like to hear from The Beatles to Green Day! I love all music genres and if I have not heard of the song you want to play I will learn it so that I can teach you!
Paul is a great and fun guy with exceptional musician knowledge across multiple platforms. The lessons provided me with the basics I needed to basically perform as a DJ. There is a lot to learn & he's the guy that got me started. I highly recommend him as a teacher.

Great teacher, very patient
June 22, 2019
He's very patient and adapts with the students needs. And also makes the lessons fun for my child and Is an amazing teacher overall!
I teach classical techniques that can be applied to any kind of singing. I will also discuss the character with you to properly portray the meaning of the song. I will also discuss concert and audition dress, etiquette, and performance techniques.
I'm an extremely positive and motivated person who thoroughly enjoys sharing her gift and knowledge with other people. I have a Performer's Certificate, a Masters of Music and a Bachelors of Music in Vocal Performance and Opera. I have been teaching voice lessons for ten years and currently run a private studio out of my home in Elk Grove, CA. As much as I love teaching, I also truly enjoy performing on stage. I have performed the professional opera roles of Lady Ella/Chorus in Cimarron Opera's performance of Patience. I was also previously a member of the Wichita Grand Opera Chorus, and recently performed in their productions of Turandot, Don Carlo, Guillaume Tell, Tosca, Otello and Le Nozze di Figaro. I have also performed other professional roles such as Belle/Chorus in The Forum Theater's production of A Christmas Carol. Throughout
my various degrees, I have also performed roles in Hansel and Gretel, Bastienund Bastienne, Dido and Aeneas, Die Zauberflote, The Lonley Empress, Les Contes d'Hoffman, Dangerous Liasons, Ariadne auf Naxos and Eric Hermansen's Soul. I began teaching voice lessons during my vocal pedagogy class, while getting my Masters Degree. I have been teaching consistently for a total of ten years. I began teaching for a community school for the arts in Muncie, IN. After I graduated with my Masters Degree, I taught lessons for a children's theater company in Manitowoc, WI until I started my Performer's Certificate. I taught for another community arts school during my Performer's Certificate in DeKalb, IL. After that, I began a private studio out of my home and have been teaching privately at my in-home studio ever since. I also have experience teaching Music Theory and Ear Training, Music Appreciation and Private Voice Lessons at the college level as an Adjunct Professor at Kishwaukee College in Malta, IL. I have always loved and enjoyed teaching! It has probably been one of the most rewarding experiences of my life and I am always eager to welcome new students of all ages!
*** Lesson Details *** I teach classical technique that can be applied to any type or genre of music. I usually start with standard singing and breathing techniques. Then I will listen to a student's voice and determine their range and pick out a solo song based on their range, ability level, and the preferences of the student. I am a firm believer that no student fits into the standard "box" of teaching. Therefore, I tailor my teaching style to match the individual needs, issues, and goals of a particular student. It is very important to me that students enjoy their lessons and feel engaged in the learning process. My biggest rule is that they need to have fun and enjoy what they are doing. I am a very kind, up-beat and friendly teacher that believes in positive reinforcement and constructive criticism. I encourage my students to communicate with me on an equal level and to always ask questions if they don't understand something. Watching people learn and grow as singers, and knowing that you had a hand in it, is probably one of the most rewarding parts of being a teacher. It is this ideal that fuels my need to teach others.
*** Studio Equipment *** I have set aside a complete room in my house for my teaching studio. I have a Baldwin spinet, a Manhasset music stand, a wide library of music and a sofa for students and their parents to sit on.
My daughter loves taking lessons from her. Kerri's personality makes the lessons really fun. She teaches my daughter at her level, where she is able to understand things. She's just an awesome teacher!
I can help you become a better performer no matter what instrument you play!
I have been studying and performing music for the majority of my life, starting with piano in the third grade. I started singing in choirs in high school and continued studying voice throughout college. I have a classical background and moved to jazz voice as an undergraduate at California State University of Sacramento. I recently completed my Masters Degree in Vocal Performance in 2015!
*** Lesson Details *** Teaching music gives me joy! I create a positive and encouraging environment for students to gain confidence in their performance abilities. Every student is different and I approach each lesson accordingly in order to accommodate each student's needs and expectations.
*** Studio Equipment *** Piano, microphone, sound system, music stand, sitting area for parent(s) when needed. Students are expected to purchase their own b
ooks which are required for piano lessons. I can supply photo copies for the first couple of lessons until books are delivered.
*** Travel Equipment *** I can provide a metronome for lessons, but each student should acquire their own for practicing purposes. Students should provide a stereo, preferably with an iPod adapter, to listen to musical examples, and a piano for voice or their own instrument for instrumental lessons. I can provide an extra ukulele for lessons, but students should have their own for practicing purposes.
*** Specialties *** I specialize in jazz voice, teaching students jazz theory and improvisation as well as stylistic techniques.
This is mine and my daughters first time taking music lessons. Melissa is patient with my daughter and very knowledgeable. After five lessons with Melissa I feel we are on the right track to accomplishing our ukulele goals.
January 14, 2019
My wife enjoyed her first ukulele lesson and is looking forward to going again next week.

Melissa seems knowledgeable. She makes the lesson productive and fun!

Andy is a great guitar teacher. He was prepared for every lesson and really helped get our daughter excited about guitar. We really appreciated his patience and positive attitude!
May 29, 2015
He was very patient with my child which was a first timer! He motivated her to want to play. Very comfortable to be around! I would definitely hire him again!
March 27, 2015
Andy was such a great teacher. My 7 year old son looked forward to his lessons with Andy every week. We were very bummed we had to stop lessons because of moving out of state. Andy has such a great way of teaching and has such patience with kids.
Playing notes and making music are two very different things! I can help you with your musicianship and performance skills!
Are you or your child interested in learning how to play piano? I am a former child prodigy and an experienced soloist / teacher whose talent was fostered by the highest of Russian Classical Pianist Pedigrees from a very young age. I have a lot to share. Learning the piano, isn't just about learning notes and playing them; it's about creating music, and conveying a story! I know how to teach that! And for all the moms out there- that means NOT having to listen to endless harsh ping-pang bland robotic piano practice. My goal is to create music from day 1. I have been teaching on and off since I was 18 in 1991. I formerly taught at a Yamaha School, and taught in my home on my beautiful Yamaha C7, but now being new to Texas, I will travel to you. My rates are very competitive, and I will give you a strong foundation, instill the art of
musicianship and teach you skills you can apply on your own and at your own pace. Learning an instrument should be fun and stress-free to foster a love of creating music. I enjoy teaching most, when you and/or your child are challenged in a fun and relaxed atmosphere! Please contact me if you have any questions. I am new to the San Antonio area, and am only looking to take on 5 students at the moment so I can who sure to bring my best for you. 🎶
I highly recommend Roni if you are interested in learning to play the piano or improving your existing piano skills.
As a retiree I found it difficult to find a teacher that would take on an older / beginning student and offer in home lessons. Her schedule is flexible and she is very accommodating of my obligations. I am extremely fortunate to have found Roni. She is an incredible pianist (she can provide links to some of her performances) who makes learning fun. I actually look forward to my lessons. She takes the time to learn about your musical interest and goals and then tailors your lessons to provide you with a positive, motivating and enjoyable experience.

Roni B is a treasure! So wonderful! We are so blessed to have found her.
There were several options in the valley, and you can never know if there will be that 'connection' with a new teacher.
Roni is patient and she got me! Knew exactly what I needed to learn.
I have had other teachers, and RONI B IS THE BEST!!!
Im giving her card to ALL my friends, even if they don't play piano!
Thank you Roni. Now don't get too busy so you can't work with you number one student lol!
If you need help with music you are playing in a concert for school or for an audition I can help you prepare so your performance shines!
Learning the flute is a great way to explore your creativity. Flute is the one wind instrument with amazing versatility and expression. It is as comfortable in an orchestra as a jazz band.
Do you or a child you know want to learn how to play flute, recorder, baroque flute, or even piccolo? I love to teach and can help you on your or your child's path to further your music education.
If you have questions about If you would like to take lessons but don't see a time or location that works for you, please send me a message. I am a very flexible teacher and schedules can change and may not be reflected on the availability calendar.
I began playing the flute when I was 10 and started teaching while I was still a high school student. I started playing flute professionally as a teenager and now I have over 30 years of experience in
teaching and performing. Actually make that 40 years!
I teach students of all ages. I specialize in personalized, tailored instruction with a strong commitment to making the process of learning music simple and straightforward. Each student has a unique learning style and I work with each student within their style. Your lessons are designed for YOU, whether beginner, intermediate, or advanced. Your lesson pace, curriculum, and progress are based on your strengths and learning style. I am background checked through the state of California.
I am by vocation a musician specializing in performing and teaching flute. I have taught flute and played professionally in the greater Sacramento area, as well as in SLC, Utah and Reno, NV.
Sue is patient and extremely knowledgeable about music and flutes. She has an easy going personality and I feel very comfortable learning under her guidance.
September 4, 2018
I can't say enough great things about Sue! Under her guidance, it's been a pleasure getting back into playing my flute after a hiatus of over 25 years. Her knowledge of the instrument and expert instruction (as well as her infinite patience!) continue to provide me with the motivation I've needed to overcome some of the challenges I've faced after being away from my instrument for so long. Her teaching style is relaxed and flexible but firm; she knows just when I need to be challenged and just when to back away a bit. She's been a great fit for me, and I encourage other flute players of all levels to giver her a try!

Dr. Sue Sheya is truly an exceptional instructor. As a student who studied a little bit of music in Europe, it was difficult for me to adjust to the American solfege system (C, D, E scale) as I was used to the European solfege (Do, Re, Mi). However, Dr. Sheya was very flexible and adjusted all her lesson materials so that I could truly succeed in learning. I highly recommend her for anyone looking for a supportive, friendly, and enthusiastic teacher that can truly guide them in learning how to play the flute!
"Excellent musician, vocalist and performer. Worth your time and money to utilize T King as your instructor."
"As a professional entertainer I can vouch for her musicality, voice, listening ability. Having performed with her on a few occasions she has an amazing ab
ility to improvise and make her musical partner (me!) sound great. She will make you excited about singing!"
"I have known Greg for over 25+ years. He can play any style and at the highest levels. He has never disppapointed us by either in his performance or teac
hing. He is the best and highly recommend."
"I have wanted to work with Jan since I saw her as a judge at the LAMN JAM Music Contests, her feedback to the artists was always spot on and I wanted to h
ear what she might have to say about my work and her suggestions. I have been lucky enough to have taken lessons and workshops with Jan for a couple months now and it has definitely had a big impact on my confidence as well as making me aware of what I need to work on. It is great to put yourself in a situation where a professional will be honest with you and help give you the tools to better your performance, this is exactly what I get out of working with Jan. You can sing out as much as you want, but listeners, friends and family usually just tell you how great you are and its hard to grow that way. Jan is kind but straightforward on what you need to do to better yourself as a performer. I highly recommend studying with Jan!"
"Greg is an excellent musician. I have performed with him many times. I've known Greg for over 12 years. He worked on my guitars, and his work was exempla
ry! He is a person of great character."
"Greg is a very talented teacher, who is always patient and is able to explain music theory and music components in ways that are easily understood. I real
ly truly enjoy learning from Him. He’s very knowledgeable, and clearly works hard at his lessons."
"Melanie A. is an extraordinary teacher!
Of the many music teachers out there, I would have to say that Melanie is one with a unique ability to get studen
ts from any background to really understand what it is they need to and learn. To begin, Melanie's upbeat and bright, but professional personality is one that easily clicks with all types of students, making it easy to learn. She is so patient and kind, but just strict enough to get us to do what we need to do. I have seen her sing several times and her great vocal talents and stage performances allow her to give honest, professional, and needed pointers that help students improve (but never in a harsh way). I personally observed this from our band sessions where she is able to teach and give performance advice to a group of students that has greatly improved our ability to be able to be on stage. As a guitar player, she has given me pointers that slightly pushes me out of my comfort zone, but as bettered my stage performance.Just as she capable of teaching groups, she is an excellent one-on-one teacher. It is never hard to ask her for extra help or assistance as her genuine love for singing and music is what fuels to want others to have the same love for it as well. She is always encouraging and constantly reminds you of your abilities to make sure you are never feeling discouraged. Having her as a mentor will never fail to improve your skills in music (whether it be singing or performing on stage) and build your confidence."
"Jan is a real pro
I have worked with Jan for the last 6 months and she has been a joy to work with. She shares techniques for helping her student connect
with the song, so that singing is emotional and not just technical. We've both noticed a real improvement in my singing ability. I highly recommend Jan."
"My daughter Aly loves her lessons with Miss Aimee! She is very patient and clear about her directions. Aly is 11 years old and learning to play guitar. Mi
ss Aimee takes the time to listen, instruct, and give experience pointers to a beginner. Miss Aimee is a wonderful blessing to our family! I am excited about all the things my daughter is learning and putting into practice!"
