After more than 12 years of teaching experience my lessons got to the perfect point of balance of being fun and educative, engaging but not overwhelming, personalized but keeping up with the national stanidards so you can see progress, you will feel like practicing and being able to play with others. Jordana has extensive experience and training in multiple genres, including classical, bluegrass, old-time, free and structured improvisation, songwriting, arranging, and more. Her teaching philosophy is that each student is an individual, and should be challenged and encouraged accordingly. She strives to find and nurture the unique musical voice in each of her students.

What I love about teaching is that moment when the student is making beautiful music and is enjoying themselves. My lessons are fun and methodical. I focus on what the student needs and how they can achieve their goals with the instrument.

In our first lesson, I will likely ask you to demonstrate your level to me, either by telling me or showing me what you know. I will use this to better understand your strengths and weaknesses and go from there. You can expect to come away from our first lesson with some learning materials, a plan for going forward, and an encouraging start to our journey as musicians together!
