About Andrew
I'm a focused but easygoing tutor and musician with over a decade of experience playing and 8 years teaching experience in individual and group settings. In 2016 I completed my Bachelor's degree in classical guitar performance at Humboldt State University, where I received numerous academic and musical honors. After this, began studying at the San Francisco Conservatory of Music with Marc Teicholz.

I'm currently living in Burbank and looking to build a teaching studio. In addition to my musical skills, I'm also an experienced writing tutor and spent several years working for a nonprofit after school enrichment program. As a result, i have experience working with children of various ages and backgrounds.

Andrew is such a great teacher! I'm a beginner guitar player who wanted to learn some of the basics and work on my technique, and Andrew was so patient and really took the time to work with me. Very easy-going and helpful, even though I know I'm not the best player. He clearly knows what he's doing when it comes to anything guitar-related and I cannot wait to set up another lesson. I already feel more confident in my abilities! Thanks Andrew!

In my studio my students are to play 2 recitals per year. One in December and June. This will give the parents and the student the opportunity to show each other the improvement they have made in 6 months. Every student will improve in different stages so the concerts are always fun and interesting. Everyone participates no matter what level they are presently.

About Arlette
Arlette C. grew up and attended schools in Culver City, California. She attended Los Angeles Valley College where she received an Associate of Arts degree in Music. She then received a partial scholarship and received the Margaret Aue Award for outstanding cellist while attending California State University at Northridge, where she received a Bachelor of Music degree in cello performance. She went on to attend University of Michigan, Ann Arbor, with a full scholarship and graduated with a Master of Music degree in cello performance.
After her graduation in 1984, she toured Europe for eight months playing cello with the Schatz Theater Group, an American opera company. Upon her return from Europe, she was hired to play in various orchestras in Michigan. In 1991, she returned to California and was named Operations Manager with the Inla
nd Empire Symphony Orchestra in San Bernardino. In 1994, she moved back to Culver City, where she began to work for Cedars Sinai Medical Center in 1997. Noticing the lack of any significant orchestra in Culver City she founded the Culver City Chamber Orchestra, with a mission of developing classical music interest in young audiences.
After she founded the Culver City Chamber Orchestra in 1997, she created the Just For Kids Youth Symphony Orchestra (2006-2008). With the Just For Kids group, she taught music fundamentals, music history, musicianship, and orchestral repertoire.
Ms. Arlette as well is the Founder and Music Director of her own orchestra and has attended several conducting workshops throughout the United States hosted by world renowned teachers such as Harold Faberman, Apo Hsu, Eduardo Navega, Marin Alsop, Lawrence Golan, Leonard Slatkin, Christoph Eschenbach, Otto Werner-Mueller, and Daniel Lewis. Her current conducting coach is Mr. John Koshak.
She has taught at Bloom School of Music In 2013. She is successfully conducting with the Culver City Chamber Orchestra, and is a free-lance cellist, and holds two wonderful cello studios in Culver City and Reseda.

*** Lesson Details ***
My lessons are fun and entertaining, but you (the student) will always learn something). You will first learn the basics like posture, sitting properly, cello basics, then we actually play the cello. Yeah!!!! You play a line or two or three, then we play together!!! We do this a couple of times with several different fingers on the strings so you can get used to it. Repeating this over and over gives you lots of confidence and mastery!!!
At the 6 month mark I hold a recital for all my students who must participate so that I and your parents can see the progress you have made in these 6 months. And both you and I should be very proud of the work You have put into playing the cello!!!

*** Specialties ***
Methods I teach are traditional scales, etudes, broken thirds and easy pieces to difficult ones. Styles I keep range from the entire classical era from Bach to 21st century music to Broadway and some jazz.

I am a now heading off to be a freshman in college after studying with Arlette for over ten years. I began as a shy six year old and can say I am so glad my mother encouraged me to study cello with Arlette. Arlette is both patient and stern in her teaching style. Every criticism was constructive and every praise warm and ernest. She helped me not only in my studies as a solo cellist, but as an orchestral cellist as well. I am so grateful and happy I to have studied with Arlette and encourage all those young (or older) cellists, whether they are beginning or more advanced, to study with Arlette.

Through decades of performance, I am able to share with students how to develop your technique on the guitar and understanding of the guitar. This level of comfort will help with live performance.
Having strong parts and rhythms worked out in advance will also help with confidence in live playing situations.

About Brian
I have been playing guitar for over 30 years and teaching for 25 years.
I've been featured in Guitar Player magazine (see attached pic). and my live experience includes concerts and tours with various bands (Champagne Francis, Scout), theater (Jersey Boys, Movin' Out, Josh Gad (Book of Mormon) and TV performances (Jay Leno, The Today Show).
I enjoy teaching both children and adults. I recommend children under 10 start on a fender squire mini electric guitar ($99)
For adults,
I am able to bring beginner and intermediate guitarists to an advanced level of playing and understanding songwriting, soloing and playing songs with good technique.

I look forward to hearing from you and helping you along your path of learning music and guitar.
Thanks!

Brian is professional, considerate and kind, could get you play any songs you pick super fast and complement lessons with necessary basic trainings. Has a variety of gears in his studio so no need for you to bring your own all the way there. Yes the charge is higher than many other tutors but for a smooth & enjoyable learning process it's always worth it. P.S. Brian could write down the music for guitar part accurately just by listening to the songs and immediately teach it to you! Highly recommend.

Jaxon the Guitarist: I am a Doctoral Guitar Major at USC studying classical guitar. I have been playing the guitar for 19 years and teaching for 10. My main style is classical, and due to the technical training I have had since I was very young, it has been very easy for me to learn and master other styles such as Rock, Jazz, Blues, Pop, Country, and other styles of guitar. I have a passion for performing and have played hundreds of solo and ensemble concerts. As a classical performer I was the Oregon State champion in their guitar competition for both 2005 and 2006 and won 4th prize at the Sierra Nevada International Classical Guitar Competition 2014. I have played concerts all over the United States as well as in Spain and Mexico. As a performer of other styles I have played in many bands an
d have won high school battle of the bands competitions and recently placed 2nd in BYU's battle of the bands 2011. I was a regional finalist in Guitar Center's "King of the Blues" competition as well.

Jaxon the Teacher: I really love spreading the knowledge I've learned over the years about the guitar, bass guitar, songwriting, music theory, and everything music related to my students. I find a huge sense of fulfillment in seeing my students understand and enjoy learning and making beautiful music. I have a high level of knowledge and skills that I am very willing to use to teach students from the most beginner to the most advanced. Former students of mine have achieved lofty goals ranging from making it into a music program at the college level to winning their school's talent show to being accepted into their school's jazz band.

*** Lesson Details ***
My curriculum is based around YOU. I push my students hard, but I make sure they're always having fun and enjoying playing. I like to get my students playing real songs as fast as possible so they can see results immediately and get excited!

Note: I am trained and specialized in teaching children fingerstyle guitar. I have taught hundreds of kids in schools, privately, and in groups over the last two years. The method I use is proven to give kids the best possible start to music and maximize their potential. If you have children and you want them to learn good technique and music principles through guitar, you don't want to look any further, I promise.

*** Studio Equipment ***
I have stools, music stands, and an amp here so all you need to bring is your guitar!

*** Travel Equipment ***

Student must have their own guitar and amp if they play electric.

There is unique voice inside you, waiting to be heard: the voice of your true identity and being. As your voice is redeemed, a spontaneous aliveness returns, awakening your heart as your journey toward your true self. By learning to listen to your voice, learning to understand, honor, accept and express its message, you begin to discover an inner freedom and to carry it into the world.
Your voice engage every part of you: breath, body, heart, mind, soul, pulling the carpet of self-doubts from under your feet. It opens imagination to the pleasure and benefits of expressing yourself in ways you never thought possible.

About Juliana
My name is Juliana, I m an international singer and musical theatre actress, Hollywood Music and Media Awards winner. For decades I performed in stage productions, as well as TV and International Gala such as "Millennium Promise" (producer Quincy Jones), NBC productions, big Symphony orchestras in Europe, and I had a privilege to collaborate with renown musicians from USA and Latin America.
I've been teaching private lessons since 2011 and have loved helping my students open up their talent in full potential, growing voice awareness, self-esteem and emotional response through voice, as well as performance mastery and self presentation on stage.

By enjoying the vocal performance field, I learned the vocal art as a science and a combination of physical, psychological, and creative ability of the artist. Singing has the power to bring
a lot of positive effects to people’s lives through opening their personality and engaging their well-being. This is why teaching is not just a profession to me- it’s also a mission to pass all the knowledge and experience I have to young enthusiasts and graduates.
I enjoy good and productive relationships with students of all ages and I have a friendly and supportive manner. I qualified to teach Vocal and to do so in a way that every student feels special, valued, and encouraged.
I look forward to helping you reach your goals!

I work with Juliana for over 6 months and noticed such a difference in my singing! She was able to explain all the issues with my voice and helped to change them! She also helped my band with original songs, she gave us ideas about vocals and back vocals. Everything seems so easy with her! Now I feel 100% more confident! I am so happy to find Juliana! What an absolutely AMAZING experience! Juliana is not only a wonderful instructor, she is a true mentor whom my daughter adores. When we first signed up for lessons, it was to build my daughter's self-esteem, as she has several mandatory performances at school. What started out as a summer adventure has morphed into a regular slot for us on Juliana's calendar:)! My daughter thoroughly enjoys learning from Juliana who makes each session fun by mixing up songs, adding props, incorporating dance moves, etc. This is much more than a voice lesson -- this is a confidence-building journey. My daughter is developing life-long skills which will allow her to be successful "on stage" in life whether she continues singing or engages in public speaking. Thanks for caring about my daughter as an individual, Juliana!!

I just finished a series of online upright bass lessons with Dr. Norman. It's wonderful to have a lesson without toting the bass around town. Dr. Norman is impressive in skill and knowledge. There was nothing musically he didn't know, couldn't explain, or demonstrate on the bass. He has a keyboard at hand to play chords or emphasize a particular key, and he is proficient on that too.
