We are so thankful we found Patrick! Patrick is a very effective teacher who’s able to relate and motivate students. Recently graduated from Juilliard, I've been teaching violin and viola for five years, and welcome students of all levels and ages. My background is firmly classical, but additionally I also love fiddle music and give students songs from many genres to learn, arranging upon request. I'm currently a doctoral student at USC, and I work part-time locally as a violinist in the YMF Debut Orchestra. I am also glad to help students with recording, video editing and social media.

I really appreciated Alexander teaching me violin. He was basically my first instructor and he was always patient and motivating. He accommodated my unique needs as an adult beginner and brought me far in a short time. He was a little challenged to balance teaching with his heavy school load, but I appreciated his willingness to take the time to teach and help others.

My daughter has resumed her violin playing now that she has lessons with Catherine. She had stopped for a year, and after a few lessons her tone started to sound just like it was when she left off. She improves with each virtual lesson, but most importantly she really enjoys them. I also appreciate that we can schedule lessons
at intervals other than weekly. Thank you, Catherine!

Mr. Eugene is an excellent instructor. He is informative, positive, and able to accurately assess the needs of the student. We didn't miss a beat with the virtual lesson, I felt it was as good if not better than any face to face lesson. We would highly recommend Mr. Eugene for violin (or piano), his extensive music knowledge and experience added an invaluable foundation to the instruction. Thank you!

Excellent Teacher

I am an older student and I started to learn to play the piano more than a year ago under a different teacher. I started with Eugene about 4 months ago. I was struggling with the piano previously. But after just 2 lessons with Eugene, I found myself playing confidently. Eugene explains so clearly and everything makes sense to me now. I enjoy practicing everyday now. He is excellent teacher, patient, and very professional. He is always on time.

"I highly recommend Miss. Ilona!

My 10 year old boy/girl twins have had lessons with Miss. Ilona for several months. Miss. Ilona, who is classically trained, not only keeps a nice balance between theory and performance, but also accommodates my twins' interests in contemporary music by helping them with their Spring Choral Concert music.

Every teacher has a point of view, personal preferences, and methodological bias that may fit one child but may not fit another child as well. Miss. Ilona, however, constantly leaves her doors open to communicate and listen, and make an effort to understand how my twins feel about the lesson material. She constantly adapts the material and tries new approaches to make them better violinists.

What I like most about Miss. Ilona is that she is willing to provide her students with opportunities to participate in Fund Raising and charity events by donating their musical talents. This allows her students to give back to the community what they have learned. On April 17, 2015 my twins performed at Theosophical Society Fund Raising at Deerfield Beach. On May 30, 2015, they performed at Children’s Oasis International Fund Raising to "enable today youth be tomorrow's leaders” in Africa.

After those events, my son wrote in his essay, “What matters to me most is to make people happy by doing what I enjoy doing…… While we played, the audience was very happy and cheered us after each song. It really made us feel so good…… After the performance, many people came to us and thanked us to play music for them. It really made us feel appreciated and so special. When I hear people saying they raised a lot more money thanks to us, I feel so blessed. I am proud that I can make difference by doing what I enjoy doing……special thanks to my violin teacher, Miss. Ilona and my twin sister."

As Hillary Clinton said, "...it takes a village to raise a child (the traditional African proverb)" during her own presidential compaign during 2007, it seems to Miss. Ilona, raising a musical child is a collaborative business, a business that the teacher, the student and the parents have to run together in order to be successful. Collaborative decision making with a child requires a willingness to listen, negotiate and compromise. As Jessica Turner (music educator) argues music instructors know about teaching music, but when it comes to your child and how s/he learns, we parents are the expert. As an educator myself, I appreciate that Miss. Ilona lets me work together with her to ensure the fit and quality of my twins musical instruction. I feel fortunate that we have found such a great instructor for my twins!"

"Great teacher!!

Anna is an outstanding teacher who really understands how to get through to a student! She places a lot of emphasis on physical aspects of violin technique such as relaxation, that often go unaddressed by most teachers, leading to future problems.

The most striking thing about Anna's pedagogical style is that she is truly passionate about bringing the music to life. She constantly emphasizes the emotional interpretation of the music, however simple the piece may be, and ensures that the student projects the right tonal quality and color to bring out these interpretations.

Working with her has been a great experience, and I always eagerly look forward to the next lesson!"

"Today was the 1st lesson for my 4 year old. For months before her birthday all she asked for was a pink voilin. So for her birthday I bought her a pink voilin and violin lessons to learn. Philip helped her take her excitement and mold the lesson to her pace. I appreciate the experience of knowing that she didn't have to move in accordance to what worked for MOST 4 year olds and was allowed to learn without taking the fun out of it. In my opinion, that is worth the 30 minutes it took to get there."

"My daughter took lessons with Geronimo for two years while he was pursuing his PhD at the University of Oklahoma. Geronimo is a great instructor. He is very clear, concise, and effective in communicating with kids during the lesson. It's very easy to follow and understand him even for younger kids. He uses every minute of each lesson in teaching, and truly cares about educating kids on musics. Geronimo emphasizes skills and techniques, which offered my daughter a solid foundation to move up (she has been attending Oklahoma Youth Orchestra for one year). Thank you, Geronimo for being a great instructor!"
