Antonella is an AMAZING teacher. I am an older adult student, with no music theory or background. She is very patient, accommodating, and uses very useful analogies that help me visualize what to do in a way that helps me learn and remember. My own weakness is in making time to diligently practice. I look forward to each lesson, and give her my highest recommendation.

Our experience with Antonella has been wonderful. She has high standards but is also extremely patient with young students. My daughter has learned beautiful technique but more importantly, she has expanded her mind, improved her sense of discipline and commitment and learned to play piano with a feel for the music. Working with Antonella is fantastic for the student and their parent/guardian. It's a joint effort. I highly recommend Antonella

Antonella taught me (female age 35) and my son (age 11) piano for about 1-2 years. She was patient with us and very flexible with our busy schedule. The only reason I could not give her 5 stars is she is the only teacher we ever had and therefore unable to compare. I would highly recommend her to family/friends.

Music Theory is the Core of Understanding how ALL Music works anywhere in the world and applies to all Instruments. It's the insight into why we use certain Notes, Chords, & Scales and what makes them work. To have the knowledge is to be a Musician, which is to Understand that when writing a Song, or Improvising all thinks can work as long as you can make it work. It's the Musician who can figure out why it works so he or she will know where to go or what to play.

About James
PLEASE READ : Thank you.

I'm a trained Musician (Private Lessons) and have been Studying & Teaching for over 37 years. I've taught, Recorded & Played everywhere from small to Large venues from NJ, NY to CA and back. So you don"t just get the Lesson, You also get all that culture and experience along with it in every Lesson you take. All Lessons are done at my Music School, located in North Brunswick, NJ which I am the Owner and Head Teacher at the School. I do offer Lessons through Skype as well if for some reason it's more convenient for you. I Guarantee you"ll learn more studying with me in one year, then with anyone else around. I Pride myself in giving my student 100% my undivided attention in every Lesson. The School is equipped with a Class A Recording Studio (which I incorporate into the Lessons) so you not only get a Great Less
ons but you'll also get the experience of working and being recorded in a Professional Recording Studio. You will learn a lot in a very short period of time, but you will also have a lot fun doing it as well. For The person interested in learning Guitar I'll teach you to Understand that you'll Develop Correctly, and Much Faster By always practicing on the Acoustic Guitar, and then if you'd like to go and play or perform on the Electric Guitar, you'll be 100% Better as a Musician then if you just played only on the Electric Guitar. That is a Key element to what all the Professionals Musicians like myself do.
I Look forward to working with you to Help you attain the goals you set out to achieve.

Music theory has been a part of my life since I began playing the piano at age 5. I believe music theory is the foundation of music. Understanding music theory means understanding the language of music. My students learn how to read, write and compose music with my method of teaching music theory. My method involves explaining music theory in a simple way that is easy to grasp, remember and apply. You will begin to read music on the First lesson!

About Nikiya
I specialize in artist development and train students who want to progress to a professional level, total package performer (piano, vocals, music theory, songwriting, composing, music business, audition prep, performance). My background in psychology helps my students identify and conquer challenges. With over 20 years of experience as a pianist, singer, and songwriter, performing with artists including Anita Baker, Diana Ross, and Ne-Yo has given me the tools needed to help you reach your potential. Ranging from classical pieces such as Chopin and also her delicate and beautiful pieces that she had written and composed herself. Never before have I seen such a talent. If you have her as a professor consider yourself very fortunate. She truly cares for each student individually.

There are many ways to cultivate your musical skill whether it's visual, kinesthetic, or auditory. Let's find out which way works best for you!

Most schools do not offer the flexibility in learning styles necessary for you to find your ideal way of processing new information, whether it be visual, auditorial, kinesthetic, memetic, right brain/left brain, etc.

That's why I'm here! I pride myself on working with each individual student on the subtle ways that they learn and form healthy habits. If you have any questions about my teaching styles or methods please ask!

A little more about me:

I have over 10 years of guitar experience, studying under Jazz heavyweights Corey Christiansen, Oteil Burbridge, and Dan Miller. I pride myself in putting my students needs and wants above all else. I wish to impart a love for music onto my students that can only be cultivated by the bond a teacher and their student share, let us learn and grow together!

About Grant
Hello!

My name is Grant and I’ve been helping students grow for over 11 years now! How time flies! I started playing music at the age of 9 and have been in love with it ever since, staying active in my local music scene as an instructor, performer, manager, and booking agent.

I pride myself in taking a students learning needs and using that as my basis for their specific lesson plan, always on a case-by-case basis, tailored to each individual student. Everyone is at a different waypoint on their path so why would I use a predetermined formula to try and help them, am I right?

This can mean using a specific song as a goal and learning the specific techniques that we need in order to learn it as our curriculum. This could also mean finding out if a visual approach to teaching is better than an auditory one. I like to think of thes
e things for my students to make their learning as easy and effective as possible.

In addition to freelance work, (weddings, jazz brunch gigs, etc.) I am the lead guitarist for the Funk/R&B band Water Seed and the soul project RetroFit. I attended Indiana University for jazz guitar and have studied under jazz greats Dan Miller, Corey Christiansen, and Oteil Burbridge.

I teach all kinds of stringed instruments from guitar and bass to mandolin and banjo! If you have any questions about my teaching methods, skill level in a certain discipline, or anything you can think of I would be more than happy to answer you!

Musically yours,
Grant

Kyle has given me contra bass, aka upright bass, weekly lessons from August 2015 through May 2016. I have never played a string instrument prior to this, although I do play piano and have played the flute, bagpipes, and piccolo over the years. I did not need education in reading music.

Kyle was able to take me from sounding like a lower octave version of Jack Benny (a mid-20th century comedian famous for his howlingly horrid violin playing) to a level where I know how to hold the instrument and the bow, the fingerings, bowing technique, and how to get a very respectable sound from the instrument.

He also installed the strings when I received the new instrument, found a manufacturing flaw in the bridge height that the manufacturer subsequently paid to repair, and diagnosed a resonance issue with the instrument that was corrected with a balance weight on the string below the bridge.

Whether you sing, play piano, guitar, woodwinds, brass, percussion, or any other instrument, or whether you write, compose, arrange, or direct, an understanding of music theory can help your practice, technique, and performance be easier and more effective. Both classical and popular music follow the same traditional patterns. I will teach you the basics of notes, keys, scales, chords, harmonies, and the other mysteries of musical tradition, not as rules to follow, but as guidelines for how to examine, deconstruct, and make sense of the music you hear, and help you apply it to your own musical work.

About Aaron
Hi, I'm Aaron, and I'm here to help you achieve your personal musical goals. In 1999 I received a degree in music composition, and I've been composing, performing, directing, producing, and of course teaching ever since. I believe every student is unique, with individual strengths and challenges, and with quality instruction and perseverance every student can use their strengths to perform the music they desire. I look forward to helping you get started!

I will teach you everything about music theory from the beginning to the craziest levels of jazz and beyond!

About Kevin
Hi! I'm a jazz pianist who loves everything all kinds of music from Twenty One Pilots to Bruno Mars to Kanye West. I've taught music for over 10 years to students of all ages and this has allowed me to develop a style of teaching the fundamentals of music, but packaged in a highly relevant way to young students. My music teaching studio that not only encompasses private piano lessons, but also music technology, voice, ensemble, and songwriting lessons as well. In my studio I give my students all of my available resources and treat it as a mentorship that doesn't end strictly when the lesson is over. Students that have started lessons with me have gone from writing their first song, to recording their first EP and publishing their music in record time. This shows the dedication I bring to making sure every student receives my maximum atte
ntion and focus.
Although teaching is an important part of my music career, my primary focus has always been music performance. As a pianist I specialize in my versatility across genres. I perform with and alongside nationally touring indie/pop acts such as the Plain White T’s, Emily Kopp, and Alex Di Leo, as well as run my own jazz trio, Madd Jazz. I am also currently part of a piano/cello duo, Strings Attached, that has performed concerts in Miami, NY, and Italy. Our duo specializes in writing and performing unique arrangements of jazz, folk, and pop songs into seamless mashups and medleys.
I look forward to teaching you music!
All the best, Kevin Maddox
