About Erasmo

Hello Parents and Students, I have been teaching and writing music professionally for sixteen years. My first introduction to music was just like some of you, starting in high school, where I had a great teacher that encouraged me to play. This helped me so much, and I wouldn't be where I am if

Erasmo is very patient with my 9 year old who had stopped his drums lessons for about a year and his technique of teaching is different from the previous teacher as in he's touching up on more basic techniques and working on fundamentals in addition to just practicing some songs every class. I think in the long run my son will benefit from that.

I have a strong background in music theory. My doctoral dissertation was analytical in content. I love music theory - it is like solving puzzles! If you want to learn about theory in an exciting and fun way, I would love to help you!

DeAnna has excellent credentials as a pianist and music theorist, but more importantly for me she is a patient teacher and good communicator who works hard to ensure that I learn and understand even the most basic skills and techniques. She is also fun to talk to and be with, and her love of music is infectious. She is an excellent teacher for an older student, and I imagine for younger ones too.

Deanna was great! Nice, patient, encouraging, and knowledgeable. I learned basic technique which already has me feeling more comfortable. I'm looking forward to progressing and confident I've made the right choice.

I'm Ahmad a very enthusiastic musician. I started out teaching myself guitar at the age of 12. I moved to the U.S. in 2001 and studied music for 15 years receiving my B.M. and M.M in music and audio production at San Francisco State University. I then moved to Los Angeles then studied and trained with John Mayer, Joe Satriani, Steve Vai, George Lynch and many others. I have performed hundreds of concerts in the U.S. as well in Europe and the Middle East with Artists such as Ozzy Osbourne, Metallica, Guns N Roses, Michael Angelo Batio, Ratt, Sammy Hagar, Dokken and many others. I ranked #1 in the Slash Guitar Center competition. I was in the "list of top 5 guitar players ever" according to The Examiner, also picked as one of the best guitarists of 2013 and 2014 consecutively in the Rockwell UnScene magazine, and ranked 3rd in the Steve Vai Sam Ash Best in Shred competition.

Here's why I dig Ahmad. The atmosphere is casual, personable and relaxed, but he is a real professional who know what they're talking about and don't just give you Green Day tabs (unless you're into that, I'm sure). I've taken all kinds of music lessons with all kinds of folks in all kinds of places and settings and what I learn with Ahmad is comparable to what I could get at any serious school without the pretentiousness.

My lessons with Ahmad have been illuminating. I totally appreciate his willingness and ability to work through my various neuroses with patience, grace and clarity. Ahmad brings a refreshing combination of content knowledge, adaptability, professionalism and humanity to his instruction--the cherry atop my Tuesday evening parfait.
Nancy
My kids had great lessons with Ahmad. A friendly instructor with a definite love for music and teaching evident. I think he is a very approachable person for anyone nervous about improving their musical skills.

"Without Jeremy, I never would've gotten my Master's Degree. As I was preparing for my comprehensive exams in music performance, I had five pieces ranging from Medieval all the way through 20th century that had to be studied and analyzed for the music theory section of my exam. Jeremy was able to help me (and my entire study group) by teaching us in a knowledgeable, yet approachable way. He has a great deal of patience and a very kind demeanor. I wish I had encountered a teacher like him while in my undergrad music studies. He simplified so many of the concepts and ideas of music theory which really helped me to understand the analysis process and gave me full confidence when taking my comprehensive exams. He never made me feel stupid when asking questions and even when he had to explain the same concept over and over (which that happened often) he never lost his patience. He is so incredibly knowledgeable as a musician and such a delightfully kind person."

"This tutoring session was probably the best I have ever had. I am taking a Music 101 course in which I am finding myself having trouble with. I took up tutoring with Stephen and he really broke down the steps. Sometimes, I do not understand things the first time when they are explained to me; and reading music happens to be one of them. However, I am very lucky to have Stephen as my tutor who is very patient in explaining the lesson to me. If you want a tutor who is patient and willing to invest time in helping you understand music, I highly recommend that you take Stephen."

Not only that but he makes sure you have fun! Whenever he’s teaching I can’t help but have fun. He’s always cracking jokes and making you feel comfortable. I love music lessons with him.
