My husband and I were extremely pleased with the progress our son Thomas made with Dan. Thomas started playing last year and was progressing faster than the rest of his third grade class which is why we were looking for a private teacher to help him along. Before taking lessons with Dan I had a hard time getting Thomas to practice. Thomas has begun practicing all on his own because he has been genuinely inspired. Dan is a true professional who always on time and in a good mood to teach. He was so patient with Thomas and developed practice techniques unique to Thomas's situation. Dan is more than just a violin teacher, he is dedicated to inspiring each student to love music. Thanks Dan!!!

Holding a Master's degree at Peabody Conservatory of Johns Hopkins University, I'm an experienced teacher and have taught students of all ages. I'm happy to help my students set up lesson plans. To build students’ foundation in ear training, music theory and skill improvement are all necessary and beneficial to music study. I believe that both short-term and long-term goals help students be more motivated, active and determined on instrument learning. I'm happy to discuss repertoire with students, based on their interests and levels. Besides, I always love to see my students have overcome stage fright and pressure, frequently playing in performances and competitions confidently.

About Cindy

As a professional violinist, pianist, and educator, I'm passionate on sharing the beauty and knowledge of music. I started playing the piano at the age of four and playing the violin in the following year. Having experience in orchestra and chamber concerts, I've been exploring music in a variety of

My first lesson with Zach was great! 5 stars. He asked the right questions as to what aI am looking to do. And we quickly came up with a lesson plan that with the right amount of work in my part will get me headed in the right direction. Zach does a great job of making his students feel comfortable and good about their abilities.

I have 19 years of experience playing the violin, and have cherished every moment. Playing music is one of the most powerful and emotional experience an individual can have, and my goal is to help you along your musical journey wherever it may take you. I have taught ages 7-70, and am passionate about a variety of genres though my core training was in classical. I have worked with students in all stages of development, whether picking up the instrument for the first time or preparing for college auditions or international competitions.

Lessons will always be tailored with YOUR goals in mind, and I strive to make sure you come away from every lesson feeling excited and musically and intellectually stimulated.

I spent a number of my formative years studying violin remotely, long before the pandemic brought students to online platforms. I believe that online learning is just as good as traditional in-person instruction, without rigid schedules or geographic barriers.

Looking forward

About Kiarra

I have a Bachelor of Music in Violin Performance from the Cleveland Institute of Music and a Master of Music in Violin Performance from McGill University. I have soloed with numerous orchestras, such as the Las Colinas Symphony Orchestra, Symphony Arlington, Garland Symphony, Charleston Symphony Orc

Rebecca teaches my nine year-old daughter. Rebecca is patient, encouraging, and her lessons are catchy, fun and age appropriate. She clearly knows how to teach and demonstrate so that my daughter understands and can follow her instructions. "Charlene possesses the perfect combination of skill, talent and temperament to make an excellent instructor and teacher. Not only does Charlene have significant skill and experience as a musician but also she has the ability to effectively demonstrate and communicate the principles and techniques of playing the violin from the most rudimentary level (i.e. my level) to the experienced level of serious talented students. Charlene does all this in a relaxed but serious manner. It has been my experience, that when noting deficiencies, Charlene addresses them with patience and corrects and guides the student along in a manner that is both honest and effective but never discouraging or dispiriting. Charlene is very adaptable at modifying her teaching methods or approach and can accommodate instructing elderly retirees (i.e. individuals like me) or some of the youngest students with the tiniest violins you ever saw. In other words, Charlene is very good at assessing a student's goals and asperations and customizing her approach to the individual student's needs and current abilities. Charlene sets clear goals for improvement and learning new techniques and motivates the student to improve and strive for a realistic and achievable level of skill. I would recommend Charlene to any student of any age and any skill level."

How Long Does it Take to Learn Violin?

Wouldn’t it be great to learn to play an instrument in minutes? Think of the musical repertoire you would have! Unfortunately, like many different skill sets, that simply isn’t the case. Learning to play an instrument, as with driving and hitting a great shot on the golf course, is all about practice. The more you practice, the faster you learn, and the better you play. And the violin, a wooden chordophone with a beautiful soprano sound, takes time to learn, just like any other ins …

Just like athletes, musicians must build certain muscles to help them better perform. Below, violin teacher Julie P. shares some fun violin exercises that help build finger strength... Finger strength is very important for violinists. The fingers in the left hand control the pitches on the violin, while the fingers on the right hand control the bow. For this article, we’ll focus on violin exercises that will help build your left hand finger strength so that you can play in tune as …

How to Set Up a Violin Bridge | Violin Tips

There's one important - and slightly intimidating - hurdle that all violin students have in common. Whether you're a complete beginner looking to make a cheap, factory-made instrument more grateful to play, or a more advanced student wanting to customize your "forever" instrument to suit you and you alone, the basic knowledge of how to set up a violin is worth grasping even if your interest doesn't extend much beyond curiosity and a love of tinkering with things. As you're probably aware, the b …
