Ardalan is not only an incredible violinist but an incredible teacher. He's impeccably credentialed, and comes highly recommended. He is polite, personable, professional, and really cares about his students. Learning to play music can be more than just motion and timing mastered with habit and repetition; it can be a process of spiritual growth and personal development. No matter which journey you are on, Ardalan has proven that he has the mastery of his skill and devotion to his students to help you on your way.

Alan was awesome! My son needed some last minute lessons before an upcoming concert he was performing in. Alan helped him fine tune his part and gave him the confidence he needed. My son is now excited for the concert and can't wait to show everyone his talent!

Our daughter took cello lessons from Esther from 9th grade through her senior year in high school. Esther is an excellent teacher and she taught our daughter so much in such a short amount of time! I so loved going to all her mini recitals too! Especially when they had mini ensemble groups! They did some original scores that just blew me away! One such original was called "School in the Wall" that combined Alice Cooper's School's Out for Summer and Pink Floyd's Brick in the Wall and it was completely awesome! Thanks Esther for teaching Summer!

Excellent teacher. I started violin lessons with Esther as a beginner adult in music and violin. I knew very little and was nervous about how to "jump in" to music later in life. Esther patiently and effectively guided me towards realizing my own individual potential. I initially took lessons in-house but then moved out of the country and continued online. She is extremely knowledgeable, reliable and experienced with a real ability to work with students of all levels! I absolutely recommend her to anyone looking for a sincere, gifted teacher who loves sharing music.

I would highly reccomend Esther to anyone pursuing a musical talent. She is an amazing performance artist as well as an music educator who is very passionate about both.
She also gave private lessons to my daughter who was a 5yr student of hers & helped my daughter to become a 3yr concert master of her high school orchestra. I was very impressed by Esther's teaching style & it showed through my daughter's performance. So if you're serious about learning music, you will learn from the best!!!! Hands down!

Online Violin Teacher

Hello! My name is Emily & I've been playing the Violin for almost 30 years & teaching for 15. I teach all levels & ages. I'm currently working on my Suzuki Book 1 teacher certification as an apprentice with a master teacher.

My specialty is contemporary styles of music (pop, rock, jazz, improv) and I'm also an avid fiddle player (primary focus on Irish & Scottish music). I graduated from USC's Thornton School of Music with a degree in Popular Music (a music performance degree focused on playing in contemporary styles).

Are you interested in learning how to write your own music? Play with a band? Learn your favorite songs on the violin? I would love to help you with this & more!

I focus on good technique (intonation, posture, relaxed playing) within whatever style of music you're pursuing.

Let me help you bring creativity to your instrument.

About Emily

A product of fiddle camps, late night jam sessions, and extensive Bach technique, Emily Moore is at the forefront of an emerging scene of contemporary violin players. A third generation Southern California native, Emily was drawn to the violin almost immediately upon discovering its existence, and

"I took Violin lessons with Nader for about eight years, and I can confidently say that those eight years made me the musician that I am today. When I first met with Nader, I could barely scratch out an elementary level piece. However, I do believe that I can now play any piece with the ability and technique I learned from Nader.
Each lesson consists of scales and arpeggios, scale studies, etudes, bow studies, and one or two pieces of music. Nader teaches with an emphasis on the fundamentals (scales, arpeggios, scale studies, etc.) so as to build the best foundation possible. As far as music goes, the pieces vary with respect to time period and style. Over the years I played and performed several Baroque pieces (Bach Sonatas and Partitas, Leclair Sonata) some Classical pieces (Mozart Violin Concerto) and many Romantic pieces (to name a few: Wienawski Violin Concerto, Debussy’s Claire De Lune, Brahms’ Hungarian Dance, Saint-Saens’ Introduction et. Rondo Capriccioso, Bruch Violin Concerto, Manuel de Falla’s Asturiana) and a few modern pieces (e.g. Barber’s Violin Concerto). For the beginning student, Nader usually chooses a few selections from the Suzuki books, although he doesn’t necessarily teach the Suzuki method. He will also incorporate sight singing (Melodia) and ear training into the lesson to ensure that the student develops and sharpens a proper musical ear.
Over the years I was introduced to and learned many of the important techniques associated with stringed instruments (e.g. vibrato, octaves, fingered octaves, double and triple stops, chords, artificial harmonics, Spicatto, Staccato (and other common bow manipulations), proper shifting between all positions, pizzicato, phrasing, etc.) He has an extensive knowledge of technique and composition which he uses to give the student the best education possible on the matter. Nader also makes sure the student understands that there is more to music than simply playing the notes. He teaches how to phrase and incorporate one’s own musicality into the piece. He also teaches the student about the culture and history surrounding the composer/piece that they are working on. This is not only informative, but also keeps one interested even if they find the piece difficult or frustrating.
There is an annual concert where all the students perform the pieces they had been working on with Nader. This is a fun event with a relaxed yet professional atmosphere where students can showcase their talent and technical improvement. I always enjoyed these concerts as they were a tangible reminder of my own improvement and achievements.
In retrospect, I found my lessons with Nader to be a very well-rounded experience. Not only did I learn how to play an instrument, but I learned how to be a musician. He is an awesome teacher and I cherish the time I spent learning from him; I wouldn't trade my experiences with Nader for anything. He always pushed me beyond what I thought I was capable of and I learned so much from that. He is a very amiable, patient, passionate, generous, and patient teacher, so don’t be afraid to call! Whether you are young or old, beginner or advanced, there is always more to learn. Let Nader be your next teacher!"

"Elizabeth is a phenomenal instructor! Both kind and patient, she is incredibly knowledgeable and takes the time to help me understand the nuances of technique or the background of a particular piece of music. I'm nowhere near a natural player, but her approach to structuring my lessons and practice activities fits my needs as a learner, especially considering that I am an adult student juggling a myriad of other responsibilities. Elizabeth is adept at tailoring her lessons and long-term approach to my growth as a player to my skills and challenges, so that I not only immensely enjoy the experience, but also feel the growth I am making each and every week. She's the best I've ever had!!"
