Jennifer's home is welcoming and so is she! She prepared a lesson book with my name on it and the lesson area was perfect. I cant wait for my next lesson. Jennifer's energy is warm and pleasant and she is patient but still corrects posture and hand positions to help create good habits from the get go.

There is so much more to singing than just a great voice. The performance goes hand in hand and is something that myself as a performer, place a lot of emphasis on for those of you that are going out there and auditioning for musicals, plays, schools, bands etc.

You must always connect with the song and the story line. How do you relate?

These are all topics I go through with students that are looking for more of that edge in their overall singing experience.

We discuss character, character choices, emotion, presence, movement, microphone technique, stand out parts in the music and much more.

It is very important you can relate to the song in some way. It will not be the same as the person who wrote it, but you can still find something that will help you relate. You chose the song for a reason, even if it was for the melody, what is it about that melody you like? what is it about the guitar line, or piano line you like? etc. These and much more are topics I go through in ...

I have been taking online lessons with Francisca for 2 years. It has been great, as it fits more in tune with my work schedule.

As someone who has a little bit of a singing background, I was looking to improve my range and vocal power.

Francisca has helped me so much in helping me find my voice, connecting my chest and head voice, and giving me the confidence to sing in public once again. She is very warm and personable, and most of all accommodating. She is very well rounded with several years of experience as a performer and coach.

I highly recommend her for all your online lesson needs.

"Tom is an amazing music instructor! My review won’t even scratch the surface of explaining what a fantastic teacher he is! Tom has taught our 4 children since 2008 when they started at School of Rock (SOR). When Tom left SOR and started giving private lessons, we left SOR because we saw the value Tom gave our children. He does a great job of challenging his students, yet keeping it interesting for them. (He's still teaching our kids after 6 years; they never get bored with his lessons and look forward to them every week!) Tom also does a fantastic job of blending music theory into everything he teaches. Our oldest child has a passion for music, and is now studying music at Berklee College of Music in Boston. Tom played a huge part in our son getting into Berklee and giving him the skills he needs to succeed while there. I recommend Tom to any level of student. He is simply the best!"

"I hired Danny early this year 2016 at my home studio in Austin,TX. I have been working on a recording studio project. With 6 songs I needed to record. I did three songs on my own. That took a week and a half and at least 5 to 6 hrs each. I looked around and hired a local coach who was very classical and just didn't get it. 3 hrs I will never get back. I found Danny online, hired him, and it was perfect...We warmed up with scales and light cardio. Very different I will say but effective. Anyways, we finished the 3 songs in just under 2 hrs. Wow! Straight to the point. So I sing Gospel music and had so many techniques wrong. A little bit of good habits goes a long way."

"The thing is, everyone wants to hone their skills when it comes to performance, but getting the skills isn't the only thing that you need to do. That is where Jan comes in, she can teach you how to sing, she can tell you when your act is not up to par. More importantly, she can teach you how to relate to your music (most likely you can't), and how to build a relationship with the audience in the short amount of time you're on stage (you probably don't know how to do that either). Jan has worked with people at every level and so she has really honed her craft when it comes to teaching. If you are a student of music performance, she can take you to that next level no matter where you are at. I've taken voice lessons in a private setting by a former vocal-music pro who has worked with former Mrs. Kentucky winners, and with teachers on the University/Collegiate level. Jan is the best I've had so far.

Notes:
1. Come eager to learn, not eager to talk about your life story. A lot of students go to lessons and talk a lot. You don't want to do that, you will miss out on the instructions and performance philosophies that you need from her. Listen more than you talk.

2. Come with clear objectives. If you don't have them, spend time with her developing those objectives. She is an objective oriented person when it comes to teaching, be an objective oriented student.

3. She has really competitive prices for her teaching quality. The hour is worth it.

4. Come with a lot of respect, she will give you a lot of respect if not more. She treated me almost like I was an old friend, and she is a really charming lady. Be nice to her : )

5. She is a really nice person and won't hurt your feelings. She has really good social awareness so you don't have to be afraid of that. If you can drop your ego at the door and take criticism, go ahead and ask her for that extra bit that you need to get you even further. Have some skin in the game.

6. Don't waste your time trying to figure out how good of a teacher she is during your lesson, you can read that stuff online. Come to her studio to get work done.

7. Ask questions that she can give quick answers to (it helps her know that you're hungry to learn). Bring something to write with."

"I am a math/science nerd and do not have much experience in proper singing, less in stage performance. After reading Benjamin's profile, I was very positive that he had the right personality and teaching style suited for me. My guess was correct! I have enjoyed every single of the 10-15 lessons with him and look forward to many more.
Teaching how to sing is much more than just giving instructions and demonstrating correct techniques. Even a YouTube video can do that. You hire a mentor so that he/she can criticize what you are doing wrong and create exercises customized to fix such malpractices. Benjamin has been doing exactly that. Additionally, he has been helping me improve on my stage etiquette, as well as performance skills. His sessions are also thoroughly entertaining, and he puts you under right amount of pressure, allowing you to be motivated without feeling embarrassed.
I started as an amateur singer and planned to pursue singing as a hobby at best, but now I hope to turn singing into an avocation. I am happy to recommend Benjamin to anyone looking for singing and stage performance lessons!"
