I've been teaching cello for 10 years and my students have gone on to participate in All-State orchestra, and play in professional orchestras. Within the first few lessons, you'll be able to produce sound and play simple songs and as time goes on you'll be able to read music fluently and perform with ease. I specialize in Classical, and typically use Suzuki and Klengal scale books. I love working with students of all ages and experience levels and I can't wait to meet you!

About Byron

I love music. I love it so much that I have made it my career. I have been playing the cello for over 20 years and have studied in universities since 2002. In that time, I have worked extensively with great artists such as, Rhonda Rider, Joel Krosnick, Andy Mark, Nicholas Tzavares, and Mark Steinbe

I'm an adult and I've been working with Byron for 5 months now. We've worked in person and now through video during quarantine. It's been a great experience and I would surely recommend him!

I had no experience with string instruments and feel I'm on my way to playing the cello competently. Byron keeps things fun and moving along at a good pace. He's especially good at diagnosing the cause of any difficulties I'm having.
Sheila
Excellent for someone new to the instrument.

Honestly could not ask for a better teacher. I was struggling to find a teacher in the area and boy did I pretty much hit the jackpot. Great teacher, super intelligent and understanding. I am a beginner but would highly recommend him to anyone. Not only does Byron play beautifully but he knows exactly what and how to teach you. Im always excited for my next lesson, so you should contact him and set one up too!

Reegan (13) loved her first lesson with Amy and is looking forward to learning more with new material! She had an excellent experience.

Amy was cheerful, yet efficient. In just half an hour, she taught my daughter the parts of the cello, how to properly position the instrument and her fingers, and plucking techniques. It was impressive that all of this was done remotely on a screen. Her pre- and post-lesson communication was also top notch. My daughter is very excited to keep learning from Amy!
Erin
Amy is a fantastic teacher with a clear and concise way of laying out lessons. I've played piano for nearly three decades, but have no base in cello, and she uses that common language to help me understand this new instrument. As a musician, teacher, and student I'm very impressed and pleased with her instruction!

"Aaron is a talented instructor. He has worked with our son for more than 2 years teaching him cello and music theory. Aaron has the gift of being an outstanding musician, but also the gift of being able to impart that knowledge to others in a meaningful way, such that even young children and teens learn easily from his instruction. We have recommended Aaron to others and he is equally as good with adults. His manner is professional, he takes pride in the accomplishments of his students and is dedicated to the success of his students."

"I have had the pleasure of watching Johanna grow as a musician and a gifted music instructor over the past several years. Johanna is very passionate about her music. She possesses a natural talent for music and is academically accomplished. I have seen her excel at improvisation and a more methodical approach to musical performance. Her love for the cello is evident in her enthusiastic and energetic teaching techniques. She is exceedingly patient with all, encourages everyone, and coaxes the very best effort from each and every person she works with. Ideals she passes on to her current and future students."

It does require focused, daily practice time and a good teacher to guide you along the way. How far you progress with cello is a direct result of the amount of quality time you put into practicing the instrument. Even someone who puts in just 30 minutes a day will notice a signi …
