Cello is famous for its deep and warm sound, probably the widest range from low to high register. It is used for solo, chamber music, ensembles, chamber and symphony orchestras.
But the most important cello can change your mind and fulfill your soul like no other instruments !

Nazar is a great instructor. He was quickly able to assess my goals and ability and did a great job pointing out areas for improvement in an encouraging and positive way.

Nazar has a wonderful ability to relate to people. He has excellent skill and enthusiasm, making our son WANT to learn. We highly recommend him...
Kelvin
I've been working with Nazar since 1998. Not only does he know his stuff and makes his teaching personal to your needs, but he also has a way to make you feel successful even when you are struggling. you always feel better about your playing when you leave than when you got to his studio. He recognizes your learning style and what you want to accomplish, then builds his teaching around that.

If you are looking for a cello teacher (and yes, he also teaches piano and other instruments) I'd say put your time and money into Nazar and you, you will feel it is one of your best investments

I teach beginner cello primarily using the Suzuki books, but supplement with other materials when needed. My students work on scales and rhythm constantly to improve their tone and musicality as well as technique. I teach classical, religious, fiddle, and more. I also teach group ensembles, trios, quartets, and I work with students on their school orchestral and audition pieces.

About Erin

My name is Erin. I am a graduate of the University of North Carolina at Charlotte. I have a Bachelor of Arts in Music, with a concentration in Violin. I began studying violin at the age of six. I have performed with small chamber ensembles, orchestras, quartets, and trios. I enjoy playing for churc

I am an emotive cellist with two decades experience. I have toured internationally performing my original works including London, Paris, and Berlin. As a member of the Pierce Quartet I regularly arrange and perform music for weddings and other special occasions. I love sharing classical music with all levels of students. Lessons with me are calm, meditative experiences where we use peaceful techniques to enter into the heart of music.

About Lenna

Hello musicians! My name is Lenna and I am pleased to meet you! I've been teaching private lessons since 2011 and have loved helping my students improve their tone, learn better sight reading skills, and become more relaxed in performance. I’ve had many instructors intermittently in my long life and travels. But Lenna has helped me the MOST. I’m strengthening muscles, improving muscle memory and having great fun. Lenna is helping me be super present with each sound. She is a sunbeam!

Lenna is a great cello teacher. My son has been learning cello with Lenna for about a year now. And he is more and more passionate about the instrument. Lenna is always patient, thoughtful and creative to teach kids to be more enthusiastic on music. I recommend Lenna to everyone who wants to learn cello.
Marianna
Someone I trust recommended Lenna to me for a cello teacher - I am an adult beginner and I really knew nothing at all about how to play or read music.
Lenna was the most patient, understanding and fun teacher I could have asked for. She understood what I needed and got me from barely able to hold the bow to playing Rigoletto in front of a small audience in 6 months! THAT is no small feat. She loves playing, she loves teaching and she understands the human condition. A very good combination indeed. I highly recommend you hire her as your cello teacher, or your child's cello teacher, or your next door neighbor's cello teacher.

"I have known Stephen Moran for almost four years, both as a colleague and teacher. He is not only a first-class cellist and gambist but also a phenomenal teacher. His observations are always astute and his instructions concise and easy to follow. Paired with his patient and warm personality, it is an absolute joy to study with him. He is highly appreciated by his colleagues, loved by his students, and known for being very responsible and punctual.

"Theresa is the best! I am 28 years old and have never played cello before now, and she makes me feel comfortable and encouraged each lesson. She's is relatable, and her teaching style is fun. She makes you want to learn. I am sure if you were good at your instrument ( unlike me) she could push you along as well. I only wish I practiced more for her ! "My daughter (8th grade) has been learning cello for two years at school. However, since schools have closed, she has shown little to no interest in playing. We decided to book Dora and have been amazed at her impact! Dora is not only a talented musician in her own right but has the patience and skills to inspire the love of music on to her students. My daughter now looks forward to her lessons each week and is not only practicing her cello regularly but has even asked me to book more lessons with Dora. I would thoroughly recommend Dora to anyone wanting music lessons!"

What Does it Take to Become a Professional Cello Player?

Pursuing a career in music is a risky decision, because by the nature of the industry few artists can “make it big.” Most artists aren’t pop stars, or even full-time career musicians, and all musicians also teach to remedy this. There are many paths to becoming a professional cello player, and depending on where you start it might be easy or hard to earn a reputation and start making money. I followed an academic path, studying classical music at university and then continuing my research …
