I am a classically trained violinist and violist passionate about helping my violin and viola students develop a love for music and for their instrument by way of a solid technical foundation and efficient practicing skills. Though I am most familiar with the Essential Elements and Suzuki lesson books, I am willing to use a different method book should you have one available. I welcome students with special needs, and am thoroughly versed in the Baroque, Classical, and Romantic violin and viola repertoire.

I have played violin for over 30 years and in my professional career I have been on tour in a Peruvian folk band, played electric violin in a rock band, and been in orchestras and string quartets as a classical violinist and violist for weddings and special events. My specialty is working with beginners to develop both a strong technical foundation and a love of the instrument and the diverse and surprising genres the violin offers. I love working with small children. I advise to wait until the child has developed a sense of rhythm and pitch in singing, and displays a desire to focus and practice on their own. A great indicator is if they can sit down and pay attention to a book. My youngest violin student was 3 and my oldest 64! Can't wait to work together.
About Arjana
I can't wait to work together. If you are here it means you want to be on a path to improving something in yourself. That is awesome. There is nothing I like better than coaching, tweaking, helping guide you on your path. You do the work, I guide you through with experience, tips and tricks and fun

Student will learn the basics of playing violin in a mix of Suzuki and Russian styles, basic care of their instrument, and learn how to perform safely using Alexander Technique as instrumentalists are often prone to injury if they are not mindful of their body alignment while practicing and performing. My focus is split between mastering the foundations of technique and breathing passion into your playing.
