I am a string specialist. That means I teach and play violin, viola, cello, double bass, guitar, bass guitar, mandolin, ukulele and piano. I earned B.A. earned from the University of Northern Colorado, Greeley Colorado where I was a double major in classical guitar and double bass. In my senior year I was the recipient of the Annual Concerto Contest where I performed the "Concerto in A Major" on double bass with the University orchestra for the spring concert. I have played in both professional and semi-professional orchestras in Colorado and Arizona. I believe that any student will practice more if he or she likes the music they are playing. Periodically I will ask a student to give me a name of a piece of music that they would like to learn how to play. I notate it for them, often simplifying the rhythm and chords in Finale NotePad and give it to them free of charge. I teach students how to play music on their given instrument. In my opinion, having been an educator in the Isaac School District for many years, Mr. Quintana exhibits excellent teaching techniques and strategies to enable the learner to be successful. He is professional, prepared, courteous, and prompt. For the past 6 years, Mr.Quintana has been my cello instructor. The environment that he creates as an educator provides an excellent foundation for continued learning. Mr. Quintana's knowledge of string instruments and piano are superb.

Victor is a great instructor and a great person. He is wonderful with my young son, who was an absolute beginner when he started lesson with Victor at age 8. My son has a learning disability that makes it harder for him to read music and process instructions. Victor worked with all of that with patience and respect. Now my son can play beautiful songs and perform in front of others. I believe that learning music has also helped my son become better at reading, math, and thinking! Most of all, he feels successful about his guitar skills, which adds to his confidence. I cannot thank Victor enough!

Hi! I’m Hana, a student at Lakeside School. Music is my passion, and I have been playing the violin for over 13 years. I have studied under teachers including Jan Coleman (Coleman Studio) and Professor Ron Patterson (University of Washington). I am concertmaster of my school orchestra and also play in the Seattle Youth Symphony. I also won first place for solo violin at my regional division of WMEA Solo and Ensemble.

I believe that a good technical foundation is essential to advance your playing, so as a teacher I will ensure that my students have all of the tools necessary to produce a beautiful sound. I also strongly believe that effective practicing is vital to advancement on the violin, so another one of my priorities is teaching my students how to practice. As an older beginning cello player, I found the perfect instructor in Dr. Kalantzi! She teaches with extreme patience and compassion. Her expertise and humor contribute to quality time of instruction in an enjoyable atmosphere. Dr. Kalantzi is flexible in acommendating all of her students schedules from making more time for them to prepare for auditions to accepting students into her schedule after time away. I have thoroughly enjoyed getting to know Dr. Kalantzi and some of her culture. If you want to become a better string player or start from scratch, I highly recommend her!

I have been teaching professionally for 17 years! One of my favorite parts of teaching is being able to customize the lessons to meet the needs/goals of each student. All ages are welcome! I believe that music should be an expression of you! I will provide you with a strong foundation that will allow you to continue your musical expression long after your lessons end. Because I teach all ages, I keep my clearances current.

About Angel
As a professional musician, my greatest desire is and always has been to teach others to love music.

Music has always been an important part of my life. I have been playing violin since I was 6 years old and singing for as long as I can remember. I knew in elementary school that I wanted to “grow up” to be a violin teacher, and so everything I did was to pursue my dream of opening a music studio - from performing in Youth Symphonies, Musical pit orchestras, college orchestras & community orchestras to singing in choirs and touring Europe with the Madrigalians (an elite singing group where we sang in some of the most beloved cathedrals in Europe such as Notre Dame Cathedral and Sacre Coure). I graduated from Trevecca Nazarene University in Nashville, TN with a B.S. Degree in Music Performance on Violin & Voice.

At my physical stu
dio I cater to the musical needs of children as young as 3 and adults as old as 90. I am acutely aware of my students’ unique personalities and their individual needs, and will develop a finely tuned plan to enrich and educate so that each student can reach their highest potential! I enthusiastically welcome parental involvement as I believe it is vital to students’ musical growth.
Music is my passion and it would be my honor to share that passion with you and your family.

I love teaching adults because we can build up meaningful relationships and have intriguing conversations through music! I am fully equipped to teach from absolute beginners to semi-professionals who had chosen a non-music career path. Let's work together to achieve your goal, and make beautiful music.

About Keiko
I am a violinist of the Attacca Quartet, a NY-based string quartet that has been traveling all over the world! In addition to concertizing, my colleagues and I teach students of all levels wherever we go; we have given lessons, masterclasses and lectures in the United States, Canada, Mexico, Colombia, Peru, Ireland, Australia, Japan, UAE... good thing we all speak the universal language of humanity: music.

I grew up in Yokohama, Japan, but I decided that I was ready to explore the world when I was finishing up the 10th grade. I moved to New York to pursue a musical life and career. I have Bachelor's and Master's degrees in Violin Performance, as well as Artist Diploma in String Quartet Studies from The Juilliard School.

I have been teaching students of all ages since 2005. Many of them were young children who simply enjoy playing the vi
olin, but I have had several students win domestic and international competitions. While I enjoyed the experience of being a part of numerous children's lives tremendously, I am slowly moving towards teaching adults because my busy tour life does not allow for me to be in town all the time.

With my adult students, I often encourage them to work on a solo repertoire of an appropriate level, as well as an ensemble piece that would allow us to develop our musicianship. I am very friendly and casual, but if you ask me to, I can be very tough (I was raised by a tiger mom.)

If you are a beginner and need help with reading music in general, don't worry- I teach a course called "Ear Training" at Juilliard, so that can be a part of our lessons as well.

I look forward to meeting you and making music together!

I highly recommend Keiko as a violin teacher. She would be good with any level and any age student. Keiko is really a wonderful, patient and constructive teacher. She really knows fundamentals and always explain to me how to do things from many different prospective. I work full time and often find myself not ready for the lessons. She doesn't discourage me in any way even if I make really simple mistakes. She is always very positive and somehow makes me wanting to learn more. I am so lucky to have found her.
