An experienced and registered Suzuki teacher, my students learn to play violin starting from a solid foundation with emphasis on posture and producing a beautiful tone. In addition to playing the instrument, students can expect to learn reading music, basic theory, music history, and ear training. Learning violin will teach patience, concentration, the value of hard work, coordination, as well as enhancing memory, aural skills, and fine motor control. It was Dr. Suzuki's belief and mine that learning an instrument not only fosters these skills but also helps to foster the hearts and minds of those learning the craft.

Sylvia is very good at taking the time to explain the reasons behind the why of doing certain things. Being an adult with no musical background what so ever she has really taken the time to teach me some basic fundamentals that are helping me build the solid foundation that I so very much want and need. Beyond the time we spend with one-on-one instructions she challenges me with exercises to practice on between our meetings. I explained to Sylvia what I was looking for and she has centered the training and instructions around that to ensure that my goals are being met. She is a pleasure to work with and learn from.

I believe that each student has a different learning style, and it is my job as a teacher to help them achieve all that they can by tailoring my approach to how they learn. Music is an incredibly rewarding artform, but it is not learned overnight. It takes a lot of time and dedication and because of this, it is easy to feel like progress is always just out of reach. In order to curb this feeling in my students, I balance my lessons by focusing on individual interests and technical work so that my students are getting better overall through what they love playing. Whether it's playing a Mozart Sonata or improvising to folk tunes, I would love to help you get your violin playing to where you want to be.

About Abigail

I am a violinist and vocalist based in London with 20 years of musical experience. My performances are influenced by blues, classical, folk and jazz styles, in which I combine live looping with electronic violin and voice. Some of my performance credits include headlining the PHILLTER Festival a

Lessons are tailored to fit each individual student's ability and goals. I believe in challenging students while maintaining a supportive and encouraging environment. Lessons will cover music theory, technique, and solo pieces. The goal is to develop in each student the specific skills needed to play a string instrument as well as to nurture an understanding and love for music.
Lessons take place at my apartment in Southeast Denver, near Hampden and I-25. Students are expected to prepare for and participate annual studio recitals.

About Kostadin

I was raised in a musical family in my home country of Bulgaria, where I attended a highly competitive full-time performing arts school from age 6. I was trained in the Russian school of violin playing and have found this to be a very successful method for my younger students in the United States.

My teaching is a combination of Suzuki Method, ABRSM pieces, and Traditional Method. I used fingering, bowing exercises or etudes for the pieces to make it easier to play.

I am very sincere and sensitive to my students because every student is unique and it is very important that you have to connect with them. I teach by heart and provide what they wanted to achieve in violin playing and so its worth and satisfying.

All of my students will learn how to play well with good intonation and proper posture. Students can choose to play their favorite pieces for fun, either Classical or Pop music . We can also enjoy some duet pieces.

Violin playing is fun but it involves patience, discipline, PRACTICE and determination. Lesson can be held in West Valley Music depending on the studio's room availability. Give me your availability and i will try to fit you in.

"taking just the one course and I wanted to come back for more. She re-lit the inspiration to continue and want more practice and want more education. Being a beginner she tailored to me even with other students. I feel very comfortable and she goes out of her way to help those get it right even when they feel weak in the spirit about just starting. I would really recommend taking courses from her. Not only did I feel catered to, she also was very honest about her boundaries and what she was willing to do and put herself out there for. I am happy to have met this woman and look forward to taking private lessons to improve not my only my love for music but love for the violin."
