I just recently started with Dee. She is doing a great job of helping me realistically assess my performance, and constructively set goals to improve the aspects that need work. It's been fun and very helpful.

Our 8 year old son had his first Guitar lesson with Dee this past weekend, and she was amazing. She wasted no time getting down to brass tacks with our son, showing him the various parts of the guitar, how to hold it and within minutes he knew two chords. She was able to keep our kiddo engaged, offered great praise and positive feedback/reinforcement and kept him on task for the entire 45 minute lesson. We could not be happier and cannot wait to see what he learns during his next lessons with her!

I have been working with Kay for 4 years and have seen great improvement in not only my sound, but my technique, going from a frequent ensemble member, to being fortunate enough to be cast in leading roles, Kay has brought me a very long way.

Kay has been teaching me for about a year now and it has been a wonderful experience. She is always polite and kind when we meet, she is flexible with scheduling when the issues of life come up. Of course she is incredibly knowledgeable with vocal technique and the world of Professional Singing which is very helpful for someone like me who has little experience.

Private Opera Voice Teacher

Greetings! My name is Michael Gray and I am a traveling opera singer and doctoral student at the University of South Carolina in Vocal Performance. Whether you are a beginner or an advanced student, I promise I will help you develop your voice in a healthy way that best suits your goals as a vocalist. I have been teaching in private studios, college classrooms, and more for over a decade. I've worked with students who simply want to sing at home for leisure and those who wish to perform in front of large crowds. All lessons generally go something like this...

1. Warmups (scales, vowel exercises, even a bit of yoga to engage the body)

2. Technique building (focusing on breathing, laryngeal position, resonance)

3. Application (applying the sensations of the technique building to a song)

4. Performing (once we've worked a bit, it's time to let go and sing!)

If this process sounds like something you would enjoy and would benefit you, I promise to be a patient and devoted instructor

"First lesson went very well. Thank you!"
Lukas
"On behalf of my son who is 15. Before finding Asuka, Lukas had taken voice lessons from several very good teachers (between breaks we would experiment wit
h teachers).
Now with Asuka he feels most comfortable and feels he learns more per lesson with Asuka. More progress with all aspects of voice. She helps prepare for auditions with Broadway vocals and advance on the more serious and challenging Opera selections.
So the actual lessons are great and Asuka is also a charm; engaging and personable. As the parent I very much like she remains a professional singer as her career.
So we are staying with Asuka through the breaks and may even extend into piano lessons as well.
I would recommend Asuka without hesitation."

"I am a retired professor. It is always my dream to be able to sing some day, but I was intimidated by the technical requirements involved in singing unti
l I met Linda. She is a wonderful singing coach, knowledgeable, honest, patient, and inspiring at the same time. Not only she has amazing voice, but also has very good ear and can immediately tell whenever one is off tune or not. Linda combines rigorous demand for perfection with warm encouragement and repeated demonstration of how to improve. I am blessed that I had her as my coach. After having just taken a course on bel canto offered by her recently, I feel that I really have learnt enormously about breathing, resonance, vibration, Italian pronunciation, and several beautiful songs, among others. I most strongly recommend Linda without any reservation to any one who is thinking to learn how to sing."

"Mr Faria,
is a complete opera singer, with a great background and stage experience. Is awesome the way he conducts the lesson, explaining all we need, ho

Thank you Maestro"

"Great as always. My voice feels BETTER, SMOOTHER and STRONGER after one hour of training with her, never more tired or painful. Yay!"

8 Beautiful Opera Arias for Beginner Singers

By Suzy S.

It is always exciting when a vocal student is ready to start studying his or her first operatic aria! That being said, realize that the voice you have now and the repertoire you’ll first study will be very, very different from what you sing later on in your career. It’s absolutely crucial that you sing repertoire that is …
