Professional singing is like an Olympic sport. It requires training, proper technique, and a teacher/coach who can guide you to find your individual voice. But singing is also something that will bring joy, confidence, and beauty to your life. So whether you’re pursuing a career in singing or just wanting to learn to sing better (for the shower, a choir, a karaoke night, or a school talent show) Edith is your teacher!

Edith has a BM in Vocal Performance where she studied vocal pedagogy. Her experience as a professional singer has well equipped her to help you prepare for an audition or show, overcome stage-fright, and set vocal goals.

Having gotten her start in musical theatre, Edith has a particular love of English, modern, and contemporary opera. Can't say enough good things about James Moore as a voice teacher. He has helped me so much!! He is kind and patient and always knows what to say to help you understand how to sing. He is very knowledgeable about vocal technique and very quickly diagnosed the areas where I needed the most work. He helped me with voice placement as well as breathing the proper way to support my tone. Getting over my break was always a challenge, but Jim knew exactly how to get me to understand the concept and showed me just how to work through that difficulty. I highly recommend anyone, regardless of the style of music you want to sing, to take lessons from Jim. You will get control of your voice. You do have to practice though :)"

Above all, he genuinely cares for each student and has a magnificent sense humor to put students at ease to experience the joy of singing! Highly recommend!!!

He's guided me in classical singing, sacred music, oratorio, opera as well as musical theatre. I couldn't possibly recommend him highly enough. He really is a 1 in a million talent.

"I wrote a review before, when I had just started having singing lessons with Erin but it’s been more than three years, so it’s time for an update. ;)
I really enjoy my lessons with Erin and I notice a great difference in my vocal range and technique from when I first started having lessons with her. She’s patient and supportive, and she always has great suggestions for new songs to learn. I’m really building up a repertoire. :)
Erin offers for her students to participate in studio recitals twice a year and I feel like I‘ve also improved my performance skills (stage fright is real for me but I’m slowly becoming more confident singing in front of others).
We had to move the lessons and recitals online during the pandemic and that worked out really well too.

I really recommend lessons with Erin, you will learn a lot and you‘ll have fun doing so!"

Desiree Soteres is the perfect vocal teacher for students of all ages. She is has an excellent performance, as well as academic, background. She is patient and knows how to draw the best out of her students.

Desiree's studio is as fine as any you could possibly find in the most professional of settings and far exceeded my expectations. In addition to this, the location is VERY safe and has easy access to public transportation. Parking is also easily found on its quiet, tree-lined street.

Choose this teacher and her studio with complete confidence!"

8 Beautiful Opera Arias for Beginner Singers

It is always exciting when a vocal student is ready to start studying his or her first operatic aria! One of the best things about being a classical singer is knowing you have so many great years ahead of you. After all, you’re considered in your prime in your 40s. That being said, realize that the voice you have now and the repertoire you’ll first study will be very, very different from what you sing later on in your career. It’s absolutely crucial that you sing repertoire that is …
