Hi! My name is Melanie and singing has been my #1 passion since I was a little girl! I just graduated with my master's degree from the Peabody Conservatory and I am eager to start working with students! Lessons with me will guide you or your child through understanding the basics of singing. We will work on music theory in addition to singing songs because that is where I believe the fundamentals of singing lies! I'm very familiar with classical art song, opera, and musical theater. Please reach out if you have any questions or if you'd like to set up a lesson with me!

I have studied classical voice from the age of 13 with instructors from The Metropolitan Opera. I have sung classical arias in Italian, German, French and Latin.
In our lesson, we will focus on the three pillars of singing: Alignment, breathing, and relaxation. We will work on classical vocal technique through simple exercises. I have exercises for people of all vocal ranges and types. I will adapt my lessons to your specific needs.
We will select the perfect music for you to work on, and I will accompany you on piano. If the music is in a foreign language, I can work on pronunciation with you. If needed, I will record piano tracks for you to practice in between lessons.
Feel free to reach out with any questions. I can't wait to get started!

I have been teaching voice for 17 years now. I have taught to students aged between 17 - 60 and also have worked with children aged between 4 - 14 and helped them get into children choruses in opera houses as well as preparing them later for conservatory auditions. As i am also a biodynamic breathwork trauma release system therapist , miyofascial energy release massage therapist and holding meditation workshops , i have a deeper understanding of body pressure , tension release . I also use human voice to release trauma combined with breathwork and use breath and bodywork to use voice as a whole instrument. Through these techniques i can also help you find a real connection with your heart center and work on your music through these techniques. Great singing comes from being the song itself , staying in the flow , releasing and freeing yourself with the air , while you are balanced in your body and in the spine. It is all about feeling yourself more comfortable in your being and to be ...

As a voice teacher, my intention is to guide my students in understanding all aspects of their musicianship – as a singer, student, and artist. My teaching rests upon a foundation of pedagogy that employs not only traditional techniques of bel canto singing, but also a scientific understanding of the voice as part of the human anatomy. In order to teach these concepts effectively, lessons are structured based on the personality and needs of each individual student. With extensive background in the study of interpersonal communication, my priority lies in creating a learning space where the student is able to explore and create music in the most comfortable and effective manner.
Throughout the series of lessons, I hope to establish and monitor the student’s technique, in order to ensure healthy and efficient production of the voice. Further, I aim to influence the student’s growth as they navigate the world of being a musician in the 21st century by helping them understand their ...

Over the past 12 years, we've given over 3,000,000 lessons to happy customers around the world.

Since I began studying with her last summer, she has helped me find a physical and mental equilibrium that I previously thought was unattainable. In addition, I have gained an invaluable and specific practical understanding of my personal challenges and strengths as a direct result of the unique and deeply insightful ways in which she handles any problem I bring to her. In a few short months my life and outlook has changed tremendously. I had the courage to audition for and consequently booked my first professional gig since my injury, began the process of planning a production of an original composition and have been encouraged by my teacher to seriously consider singing for both national and international auditions next year. If there is a "Vocal Whisperer" Fawn is it.
To be truly understood as a performing artist (and one dealing with a vocal injury while attempting a career, is a rare and amazing experience. Not only is she amazingly well versed in several nutritional, spiritual and physical disciplines but her unique ability to adjust them into a specialized program for your specific situation and personality type make the service she offers invaluable and like nothing else I've ever experienced. Not only is she deeply empathic, compassionate, giving and sympathetic but she is also refreshingly disciplined in her ability to organize you and get to the heart of the matter. She tailors your lessons in a way that makes them easily accessible and memorable. She has the rare ability to inspire you. She never makes you feel judged, she never 'shames' you into compliance (like my other coaches did), but instead Fawn encourages and wins you over with a warm and comforting sense of humor and grace.
I am deeply grateful to have had and continue to have the opportunity to work with such an original, remarkable and talented individual. I can't recommend her highly enough and personally consider my lessons an essential part of a professional vocal career for anyone who wants to sing correctly and safely (and) stay safe, healthy, happy and sane."

So blessed and honored to find Lori Ann and to be working with you!!!"

It is always exciting when a vocal student is ready to start studying his or her first operatic aria! One of the best things about being a classical singer is knowing you have so many great years ahead of you. After all, you’re considered in your prime in your 40s. That being said, realize that the voice you have now and the repertoire you’ll first study will be very, very different from what you sing later on in your career. It’s absolutely crucial that you sing repertoire that is …
