Private Acoustic Guitar tutoring lessons Cross Junction, VA.

Each lesson is tailored to fit each individual student. We will cover genres of music that's of interest to you, using music you enjoy most so learning the instrument will be fun. Even if you have experience playing acoustic guitar, I will be able to show you alternative strum patterns, useful techniques, tricks and short-cuts to make playing easier. I have a blast teaching and my students have fun learning!

My speciality is helping young children learn the basics of this instrument! To see them strum their first E chord is fantastic :). I do suggest a half-size guitar for students nine and younger.

As a music producer, mix engineer and artist, I understand the need for proficiency as well as the artistry. My approach to teaching is customized to each individual as we are not all the same. I pay close attention to how each person learns and work with what the student can excel in. When needed we will do drills or work on theory or break down your technique to overcome any obstacles. With my industry expertise, I can help you become a proficient musician and help develop your style and artistry.

I'm a self taught guitarist of 15 years, specializing in acoustic guitar. I incorporate percussive and fingering techniques that I breakdown to each of my students. I've performed thousands of times throughout venues, bars, restaurants, etc. and have a great background on performing guitar and vocals.

Students will learn how to read as well as play: notes, chords, scales, songs, common chord progressions, guitar tab, chord charts and a whole bunch more! Ear training, chord theory and improvisation will also be incorporated into the lessons.

In teaching lessons, it is my great pleasure to share with students of all ages and skill levels the knowledge that I've gained over 27 years of playing. I firmly believe that anyone can learn anything at any time, given the proper tools!

In our first lesson, we will determine your musical goals and create a realistic path to achieving them. It's my job to help you along this path while keeping things fun.

To maintain focus and week-to-week continuity, I always provide lesson notes to take home. I can also provide recordings of lessons and transcriptions of pieces, if desired.
