Welcome! I teach students of all ages (10+), abilities and genders, and I focus on positive and productive learning techniques, specialized for individual needs. I have taught beginning and intermediate players for many years and know all the best ways to acquire technical and musical proficiency, including recommendations for the most playable instruments and the best accessories. 

I have a master's degree and comprehensive experience in music instruction and performance, including solo performance, orchestra, concert band, folk/bluegrass orchestra, chamber ensembles, rock/blues/folk and cover bands, pep band, opera and musical theatre. 

I teach lessons in person in the Los Angeles area, and online using a desktop computer, an Ethernet connection, and a professional microphone. All you need is a good internet connection and device (computer or tablet) and the basic tools: an instrument, an armless chair, and a quiet location.

The International Double Reed Society (IDRS) was established in December of 1971 and is a world-wide organization of double reed (oboe and bassoon family) players, instrument manufacturers and enthusiasts. The society has over 4,400 members from 56 countries. Within the United States, 50 states as well as the District of Columbia and Puerto Rico are represented.

The purpose of this Society is  to provide an organization dedicated to the furtherance of music in education and education in music in colleges, universities, and other institutions of higher learning, which offer music degree programs in one or more fields.

The primary objective of the Society is the recognition and encouragement of the highest level of musical achievement and academic scholarship.

Broadcast Music Inc. was founded in 1939 by forward-thinkers who wanted to represent songwriters in emerging genres, like jazz, blues and country, and protect the public performances of their music. Operating on a non-profit-making basis, BMI is now the largest music rights organization in the U.S. and is still nurturing new talent and new music.

To nurture, engage and empower the international folk music community &mdash; traditional and contemporary, amateur and professional &mdash; through education, advocacy and performance.

Lee teaches acoustic guitar using a holistic and minimalist musical approach — you only learn what you really need to know. 

Learn how to put chords and rhythm together, and have fun learning songs while you increase your guitar skills. 

Students can learn on a steel-string acoustic guitar, or a nylon string (classical) guitar. No note-reading is required to learn chord progressions, song structure, and effective strumming and picking patterns for folk, blues and rock acoustic guitar. 

Lee offers her own visual materials and chord grids, popular acoustic songs, and select acoustic guitar method books. She's also a Beatles expert and can take you from "Twist and Shout" to "Blackbird". 

Lee has performed and recorded as a singer-songwriter-guitarist since 2001, including hundreds of performances in the New Orleans area, ten years of performances at the Bluebird Cafe in Nashville, and appearances at acoustic venues across the USA.

Great teacher, super patient, and very helpful 10/10 experience

I'm terrible at sight reading. She helped me become better. We had entire lessons on rhythm without even picking up the bassoon (which is great because I was sick in bed with covid for a few weeks) she would look over my music for band and help me through the really difficult parts.
She even taught me things about my bassoon I didn't know, after playing the bassoon for 3 years. She's a really good teacher.
