In teaching lessons, it is my great pleasure to share with students of all ages and skill levels the knowledge that I've gained over 27 years of playing. I firmly believe that anyone can learn anything at any time, given the proper tools! In our first lesson, we will determine your musical goals and create a realistic path to achieving them. It's my job to help you along this path while keeping things fun. To maintain focus and week-to-week continuity, I always provide lesson notes to take home. While teaching bass is my specialty, I've been teaching guitar for 4 years and have amassed quite the collection. The overwhelming majority of my students at the shops I teach at take lessons on guitar, so most of my time is actually spent teaching guitar. In lessons, we'll cover basic chords, scales, and rhythms, as well as some introductory music theory so the student knows why they're playing what they play.

The first thing I do before the first day of class is send out an enthusiastic email to introduce myself. We then Briefly discuss the learning goals for the course based on the visual literacy, technical, and intellectual competencies the students would like to achieve by the end of a period through the questionnaire. This is ideal for me to design the course or update an existing course for the student's desired outcomes. The customized syllabus and the schedule are completed along with a comprehensive strategy for what will take place during our lesson together. I incorporate technology all the time. I'm also inclusive driven because I believe everyone can learn no matter their capabilities or background, I also engage with my students by catering to their interests, and I embrace my dualities and share them with my students.
