My experiences with Josh have been great. I have played guitar for many years, but my approach has always been lacking in relation to technique. Josh has helped me form a better mechanical understanding of my posture and movements. The adjustments he has helped me make have resulted in less stress on my fingers, wrist, and arms. He has always been thoroughly prepared for lessons. I would absolutely recommend Josh, especially for new musicians who want to learn their instrument in a fundamentally sound and detail oriented manner.

Been a student of Josh's for a few months now and feel very fortunate to have found him. His attention to detail, continuity between sessions, and obvious broad knowledge base are a few of the elements making this a very rewarding learning experience. I am learning to read music, understand music theory, and develop technique. I have very much looked forward to each lesson which Josh takes the time and effort to build upon with clear assignments and follow up. Josh is highly personable, professional and supportive. I highly recommend Josh.

Excellent, takes time to explain music so I can have a better understanding of the whole process.
I look forward to each class as I learn more.

Derek is a very knowledgable instructor, easy to talk to, and I found his teaching technique is very motivating. He set realistic practice goals for the next session, which will require me to do my part, but that's the reason we show up, to learn how to play a musical instrument.
I highly recommend him.

Derek was very helpful! No time was wasted! Awesome 1st lesson!

About Carolyn

Coming from a large extended family in Hawaii, I was surrounded by luau music, kachi-kachi dancing, Japanese bon dances, handsome local guys singing and playing their guitars and my aunties strumming their ukes and singing old songs. I reveled in walking alone in Nature or playing piano and singing

"My son Ben has been taking lessons with Jimmy for over a year now and his progress is astounding. He had previously taken lessons with someone else and in just a few months with Jimmy far surpassed what he learned in 9 months elsewhere. Jimmy is affordable, helpful and really breaks down what is needed to successfully play guitar for a beginner and is pushing Ben further as he grows. TAKE LESSONS WITH JIMMY!!!!! :)"

"Jimmy is an awesome guitar teacher! A couple of yrs. ago, my 12 year old son was looking at getting professional guitar training, because though he was interested, he had very little k/w etc..and one of his friend's Dad recommended Jimmy.
You can see right away, that Jimmy is excellent with kids..and my son seems to enjoy every session with him. Jimmy's coaching technique is worth a mention as well. He makes it a point to make your basics very strong, which equips the person with enough skill to actually 'create' their own music versus simply 'copying' an existing song etc. I've been thoroughly satisfied sending my son to Jimmy for guitar sessions and the result shows. I see my son now playing quite fluently...and with confidence and will try and take a shot at making the cut for his High School's music/guitar team.

Also, looking at some of the other music instruments displayed in his studio, does seem Jimmy's a very talented musician, well versed in several areas.

Finally, Jimmy's studio is one nice n cozy place, where parents can do office work, sit and stretch out, watch TV, read and doze off or simply watch their kids learn guitar. I like being there as well :).

"I have known Charley for quite a few years now. He has taught three of my sons to play guitar, both acoustic and electric. Charley himself is a very good guitar player. But it is his easy going personality and the way he relates to the kids that make him the best guitar teacher we could have ever had. My sons have their own band that plays out in public and they are all on worship teams. They have also played at multiple youth conferences in Ohio and North Carolina. I highly recommend him for all children and adults."

"Joe's knowledge of guitar is expert and spans a wide variety of genres. It's rare to find a guitarist who considers phrasing and dynamics while playing, but Joe does exactly this, breathing life into all his licks with mindful control over volume and articulation. I've learned a lot about Blues chord progressions, and I'm sure a guitarist of any genre will learn a lot from him. Highly recommended."
