I started teaching in 1998 at the K=
ennelly Keys in Everett and Bigfoot music in Smokey Point in 1999. I starte=
d the year 2000 at the Mills Music in Monroe. My youngest student has been =
a 4 years old.
=C2=A0I played trumpet in school=C2=A0 from 5th grade on and was the first =
chair in the 9th grade Orchestra in seventh grade. I took trumpet lessons a=
t Kennelly Keys at Arts Food Center on Holman Road in Seattle. Roy Kennelly
told me at the time that if I wanted to be a musician that I would have to=
get used to playing the same thing over and over again. I took that to hea=
rt and try to impart the same type of philosophy to my students.
I periodically take trumpet lessons in the Seattle area to brush up on my c=
hops and also to learn new ways of Teaching.

Everyone is unique (physically, mentally), and we all will play the trumpet our own way and for different reasons. Whether you want to learn how to build endurance, craft a beautiful tone, improvise or interpret classical works, you've come to the right place. I will cater what we work on to YOUR individual curiosity, interests, personal goals, and to how you naturally play the the trumpet. I will help you to discover your own voice on the trumpet, and at the same time make sure you develop great technique and musical ability. You will learn to control what and how you play, and grow as a musician!

I would highly recommend Jonathan as a music teacher. Jonathan is absolutely passionate about music, which is evident by his enthusiastic and energetic teaching techniques. He is very patient with my five year old and encourages her to get her very best effort. Jonathan customizes the music and lessons for my daughter’s skill level while at the same time provides challenges to keep the learning process interesting. In a short period of time, my daughter's keyboard playing abilities have dramatically increased. I am very grateful to Jonathan for making learning fun for my daughter, who always looks forward to her lessons!

I use a variety of books from the typical book you would use as a student in a band program to a more advanced method for other players. Each student is different so I try to evolve to meet their specific needs and learning styles. I love working with students of all ages and experience levels and I can't wait to meet you!

I am an adult who has no experience with any type of instrument and was very nervous and intimidated at first. Then I met with Michael, and though there was a ton of information we had to go through, he really made me feel at ease. He has the knowledge, patience, and understanding I was really looking for in a teacher and I'm so happy I found him!

I am a musician with expierence playing French Horn with professional orchestras and chamber groups. I have spent 5 years teaching privately and held positions teaching in the public schools. Through my public school experience I have had the opportunity to give many trumpet lessons. Mr. Phelps is an outstanding instructor! He worked with my large group, small group, and private lessons students. As a band director, I truly appreciated his professionalism and demeanor with all of my students of all ages and levels - very supportive and very encouraging. His lesson are high-energy and up-tempo, the kids loved it! Chris is an excellent choice for lessons. I highly recommend him!

Chris was a great teacher and help to our daughter. He was also very flexible with our schedule and often helped us move the time to fit perfectly...on Sunday no less! Within a short time both her band leader and us could hear the difference in her performance. Super nice nice guy too and that’s coming from a Gators fan (if you follow college football you will understand this). Best of luck up there Chris!

"I have been taking lesson with Mr. Gallo for over 4 years now and not once have he met any challenges that I face and was unable to fix it.Through Mr.Gallo's lessons,I came from being a player who lacks the desires to pick up my horn and practice everyday and someone who just doesn't have the confident to play a note properly (doing things half measure) to a player who cares about the tone quality and initiation of a note and putting in the work by practicing everyday to get good results. My work ethic and the desire to play my horn have increase through having lesson with Mr.Gallo and I would recommend this instructor to anyone who express an interest in playing Trumpet, Trombone, Tuba, and French horn, or someone who just wanted to learn music theory."
