Hello! I'm currently Principal Trumpet of the Houston Grand Opera and Houston Ballet Orchestras and I'm originally from Brisbane, Australia. I completed my Master's Degree at Rice University's Shepherd School of Music where I studied with world renowned trumpet teachers, Barbara Butler and Charles Geyer. With years of professional performing and teaching experience, I hope to help you achieve your short and long term goals in music making. I can help you prepare for school and band auditions, establish great fundamental trumpet playing concepts and help learn solo and orchestral trumpet repertoire or jazz standards. Tetsuya is not only a talented musician, as many people already know, but he is also an incredibly kind and patient teacher. He taught my son not only about technique and musicianship but also the love and fun that can be had through music. He knew the level that my son was at and guided him through his learning and this allowed my son to continuously improve. My son was incredibly luckily to have Tetsuya as his first teacher.
