Modern guitar music is often filled with heavy effects that mask the natural tone of the instrument.
A well played acoustic guitar can blend into any musical environment. Bluegrass, Folk, Jazz, Blues, Funk, Rock, and Metal, or any cutural/ world musc. And yet, it's an instrument which needs no accompaniment.
Make your guitar sing by learning good technique, creative rhythmic picking and strumming, and unique chord voicings. Develop sight reading, improvisation, and composition. Within just a few lessons, you can expect results in learning a song of your choice, and understanding the songwriting choices made by your favorite artists.

Tom is very patient with younger students that get distracted easily. One of my children is very interested in learning Irish folk music and Tom is great about helping him explore his interests in music. I love having lessons in home. It's very convient and allows me to keep my toddler entertained while my other children are doing lessons. Lessons are also affordable. I would definitely recommend Tom!

My son has been working with Tom for over a year, and we definitely enjoyed the entire process. My son is relatively young (5 when he started), so for us the most important part is to evaluate and inspire his interest with music and violin. Tom did a great job in tailoring his lessons towards my son's interest and learning style, and made the learning process very fun.

Cant say enough good things about Joel. He doesnt get frustrated when I don't grasp a concept he breaks it down to where I can understand and work through it. Works to play what I'm interested and what I really want to play. I thought going to learn an instrument at 27 would be rough but it has been fun and enjoyable.

Joel is an amazing instructor. I have had music instructors that get frustrated and roll their eyes or scoff. Not once have I gotten that from Joel. He breaks it down to where it is completely understandable and willing to work at your speed. I especially like that he isn't hung up on boring songs he pushes for what the student is interested in. Makes learning so much more fun. I thought trying to learn an instrument at 27 would make me feel dumb but Joel doesnt create that kind of environment. Only good vibes. Cant say enough good things about Joel.

Very patient and informative. Allowed me to ask endless questions. Addressed all my concerns and removed any doubt about this arrangement working specifically for me and my schedule. His studio has a very nice setup and it's simplified. We did a breakdown of my experience and focused on setting realistic goals towards my learning process. More than a "Teacher" of music but a "Professor" of guitar methods! He focused in on getting me comfortable with the most basic of finger techniques, finger placement and familiarized with the sections of the solo lead guitar. After an hour's session my mind was put at ease about my ability to be patient with myself. I was never made to feel awkward or out of my league. This caused me to open up and to really focus. Mr.Cole has a great style and passion towards helping me to soak in as much content as possible. His location is within a community that's family orientated. I look forward to being tutored by Mr.Cole over the course of the next year without any complications.

My personal teaching philosophy is that music is a beautiful transcendental art form, and it's my job to find the student's connection to music and help them enjoy it to its fullest capacity. Whether it's a young beginner, old hobbyist, or aspiring professional I understand that everyone's learning process is unique and it's my job to find and nurture that.

I predominantly play jazz and have an extensive theory and composition background, so I can educate on many subjects. Some of my primary focuses are: technique, fretboard knowledge, chord vocabulary, sound/tone, articulation styles and personal stylistic choices, and many more.

About Nicholas
I have many years of teaching experience and can discuss a wide range of topics. While I am predominantly a guitar player, I have experience with and have often enjoyed teaching musical/compositional concepts as well as improvisational tools and music theory to other instruments.

Hi! I'm Brad, and I love the folk, bluegrass, and country-blues guitar work of people like Doc Watson, Mississippi John Hurt, and Merle Travis. If you're trying to play finger-style, or flat-pick some bluegrass tunes, I'd love to help you achieve your goals!

About Bradley
Hello! My name is Brad, and I love playing acoustic guitar. I specialize in folk, finger-style and bluegrass guitar, but can also help out with any of the basic skills you'll need to have an overall understanding of your instrument!

For the last seven years, I've made a full-time living as a performing musician in Charleston, South Carolina. Whether I'm touring, playing restaurants, or playing events and weddings, I always have to stop and be amazed at how far the guitar has taken me. I think it's a privilege to do what I do, and definitely a goal worth reaching for!

Some of my favorite guitar players include Doc Watson, Merle Travis, Tony Rice, Mississippi John Hurt, Norman Blake, and Tommy Emmanuel. I love everything from Doc's folky finger-style to Tony's lightning fast bluegrass licks. These players all played from the hear
t and used the guitar as a vehicle to tell fascinating stories, and that's what I aspire to do as well.

Learning any new skill can be challenging, but with the right approach and a good attitude, anything is possible!
