Cello Lessons in Stratford. Amazing Teachers.

Everyone comes to the cello for something different. It is my biggest goal as a teacher to shape a course of study that fits each student's interests and aspirations with the instrument. I have experience in a broad variety of teaching: beginner students of all ages, students exploring a hobby, and young advanced students aspiring to careers in music.

Cello has brought me all over the world! I've play in pit orchestras for musical theater and in classical chamber orchestras, recorded on folk records and electronic albums, performed in Indian music festivals and the Montreux Jazz festival! Lessons with me will be rooted in an understanding of the instrument that can be applied to any genre.

I love playing and teaching the cello, and I'm so excited to share that with you as you learn to play the music you've been hearing in your head. I'll work with you to create a personalized study plan that is engaging, positive, and progress-oriented. My teaching style is as slow as you need, as fast as you can go. Technique should always serve the music, so we'll focus on creating art and telling the story that you want to tell.

Lessons are open to anyone; even if you don’t have a cello yet! I have worked with beginning students learning the basics of reading music, to advanced players & colleagues looking for a careful ear. For learners under 10, I recommend 30-45 minutes. For all other players, there's no time limit; I love to go into details and can work as long as you want! I have been teaching beginning cello for over twenty years. I teach both traditional western methods and Suzuki style. I have a Doctorate in Music. I am very experienced teaching all ages. I teach out of my home studio in Scottsdale. If you have ever dreamed of learning to play music, I can help you make that dream come true.

I started playing with the Suzuki method at age 5. I have been teaching cello to ages 5 to adult for over 8 years. While not a concert or symphony level player, I have been providing quality lessons and guidance to beginners and intermediate players of all ages and interest for years. As with all of my lessons, I provide a core curriculum as well as customizing to the student's needs and interest. From Bach and other Suzuki classics, to modern favorites like The Beatles or Pirates of the Caribbean.
