There is always an assessment period for the first few weeks to determine the student's level, knowledge, and interests. Once a better understanding is established, we can move forward with a typical lesson strategy, which involves a heavy focus on repertoire so the student can start playing with friends as soon as possible. For example, at the beginning of every lesson, I ask the student what questions they have from our last lesson, how they feel about things we've talked about in general, and briefly summarize the topics that we've worked on.

I started teaching myself guitar when I was 10. Later, in high-school, my teacher frustrated with my lack of practicing came up with an idea to light a fire under me. They suggested I teach a younger classmate. Not only did I finally start practicing, but I fell in love with teaching as well. Thanks to that, I have played over 1,000 shows, both solo and as an auxiliary musician for other touring acts. I performed on over 30 albums and have composed for radio, television, and internet video series, including sharing the stage with members of the 10,000 Maniacs. I've been featured in The New York Times, on the CBS Evening News, and on NPR.

I have over 6 years of experience teaching private lessons in addition to teaching seminars on songwriting and music business at Infinity Visual and Performing Arts and SUNY JCC.

While each student is different, I start them on the Mel Bay or Essential Elements books. From there we will cover a variety of genres from classical, jazz, rock and

My students have spanned every age, experience level, and walk of life through the years... Some wanted to join a band, some wanted to go on to music school, some were aspiring songwriters, and others were simply interested in an awesome hobby! I've been teaching acoustic guitar for over 13 years and teach a mix of playing technique, music theory, ear training, as well as working on songs and styles of playing that the student is interested in. Along with my teaching experience, I have plenty of stage and studio experience as well which allows me to bring those things to the table. More real world and less dry and academic you might say...

About Cameron

STUDYING WITH ME: Learning guitar should be interesting and fun! While we're studying all the different aspects of the instrument, you'll also be learning how to play your favorite songs and solos! I approach each student as an individual and structure their lessons according to what I determine

Cameron is an excellent teacher for me. I am 11 years old and have been playing for almost a year with him. He is patient and makes me stretch to be a better guitarist. He takes time to find songs at my level of learning and accommodates my tastes in music. I would recommend him for anyone who is interested in playing guitar.

I enjoyed my first lesson with Cameron. He explained things clearly so I could understand. Can't wait for my next lesson.

A solid teacher with a lot of experience

Cameron is great at tailoring the lessons to my musical taste without compromising the theory, basics and fundamentals.
I have been taking lessons for one year and will not go elsewhere anytime soon. His vast musical knowledge helps merge the theory with concrete examples. No question remains unanswered.

Wit's understanding and non-dogmatic teaching style made classes high-quality and stress-free. Remote instruction was deeply engaging, which I wasn't expecting as someone who is used to in-person music classes. I definitely learned more than I have in any other guitar class.

I especially appreciated that class felt like a discussion rather than a recital. Instead of following one method or theme, I was encouraged to completely shift our attention at any time if there was anything I was curious about.

Wit presents difficult ideas with enough context that I, having a limited understanding of theory, felt able to keep up and incorporate higher-level concepts into my writing/playing.

Can't recommend Wit's classes enough!

Prawit is such an incredible teacher - he structures the lessons to your specific goals, makes sure you understand everything before you move on, and makes it fun!
I love the structure he provides, and also the fact that he makes sure to check in as you are progressing. 👏🏼 I highly recommend him as a teacher

I have been Prawit's student for several years in both in-home lessons and online. He is an amazing teacher! Prawit really takes the time to understand what I want to learn, and shows me how to achieve those goals. He is extremely clear, patient, and supportive. He teaches me both acoustic and electric guitar in several different musical genres.

The Do's And Don'ts Of Buying The Best Beginner Acoustic Guitar
