I specialize in classical guitar, but am comfortable teaching just about any other style.

About Kevin
Every student deserves a teacher that is attentive, committed and above all highly competent. I can provide this to students of all ages. Younger students will be given the freedom to explore the instrument and music as they progress. Because of the many necessities of life, I recommend specific goals for adult students.

I love sharing the joy of music with my students, and would love to help you or your son/daughter find the music within.

***Background***
My initial studies were in jazz and other electric styles, and I performed in a number of varied ensembles. I graduated with a Master's degree from the San Francisco Conservatory of Music. My main focus these days is classical music. I have performed in masterclasses with Manuel Barrueco, Denis Azabagic, and Dominic Frasca.

*** Travel Equipment ***
I bring blank staff
paper and other paper materials (music, exercises) to each lesson, as well as my guitar. I will bring a 1/4" cable for electric students. I expect students to bring their instrument and any accessories necessary. A music stand is required.

*** Specialties ***
My primary performing instrument is classical guitar, and I am well-versed in the literature. I love teaching jazz, rock, folk, or any other kind of music on the guitar.

I teach the songs you want to learn, using method books only for structure and support. This is your chance to build effective fundamental skills and improve your technique, theory, and improvisation in Pop, Rock, Country, Folk, R&B, Soul, and other genres!

About Adam
I have been passionate about music all of my life. I have been teaching guitar and piano for 10 years. I'm a doctoral student at Chestnut Hill College pursuing a degree in clinical psychology with plans to become a music therapist. I learned guitar and classical piano under 2 private teachers while pursuing my Psychology degree and music minor at Rutgers University in NJ.

Music was a way for me to find peace, structure, confidence, and an outlet for personal expression and creativity outside of my everyday life. I've grown as a person and a musician through music. I get excited when I see my students learn enjoy playing something new. I love music more than anything else and that love is something I try to bring out in my students. Once there is love for music, everything grows naturally. I teach to help my students find those streng
ths in themselves to live a fulfilling life through their instrument.

***Lesson Details***

We create daily, weekly, and monthly goals for you to achieve.

I also walk students through how to write and record semi-professional quality songs with drums, vocals, guitar, and piano. Music genres I cover are mainly Pop, Pop/Rock, Folk, Blues Rock, Classic Rock, Alternative, and Classical (piano only)

I didn't really know what to expect from songwriting lessons but Adam is very flexible with his teaching, knowledgeable, and responsive. He gives you the tools you need to pursue any path you choose and to feel good about what you're achieving. Adam is very nonjudgmental and just loves music. Thanks to him I've come very far in a short amount of time.

He has really made the whole learning experience rewarding and enjoyable for the kids. It is apparent that they have been growing as guitarists. Adam is highly recommended as an instructor.

Students can expect to learn at an easy and thorough pace. With my lessons, you can take your time no rush. I will work with every student one on one. Each lesson will be well planned and organized, but also it will be fun. If you don't understand something, I will work so that you do understand it. There is no pressure in learning. You can work at your own pace. Looking forward to working with each and everyone of you.

About Tanesha
Hello There!

Prices have been recently updated!

If you are under the age of 18, please have a parent or guardian book the lessons for you.

My name is Tanesha. I have been playing guitar for a little over 7 years now. I am a self taught guitarist. Guitars have always been a passion of mine, ever since I could remember. I was always drawn to learn more on guitars and one day decided to teach myself. I wanted to teach myself to play so that I can develop my own teaching style, as well as my own methods of teaching. When you are an absolute beginner and you look to learn from other people, their way of teaching can be a little challenging. But with my teaching style it is more broken down. I understand the struggles and difficulties that comes with learning guitar, that's; why I am here to break it down and teach as clea
rly as possible. I am a very caring person, I love to help others and love to see them improve daily. My main goal is for all of my students to learn and benefit from my teaching. I love when students are excited and eager to learn more. Putting effort is very important in order to succeed. if you don't put effort, it will not work.

You can expect to learn the following things:
-Parts of the Guitar
-Song Tutorials
-Picking Patterns
-Strumming Patterns
-Notes on the Guitar
-Chords
-Tablature
-Pentatonic Scales
and Much More!

If you've always dreamed of being able to pick up the guitar and play, let's get you started! Whether you wish to play rhythm guitar, learn fingerpicking patterns, or want to be able to accompany yourself while singing, I can help. We will also learn to read music for guitar and music theory.

About Allison
Learn piano from a nationally touring recording artist, songwriter and composer with eleven years teaching experience. My approach to teaching piano is holistic, incorporating music theory, ear training, healthy physical technique, improvisation and sight reading. I have over eleven years experience teaching students of all ages, and I enjoy working with each student individually to build on their strengths and help them develop in the areas they find more challenging.

An EMMY-nominated film composer, I also teach songwriting for students interested in composition. Lessons are tailored to each student, incorporating a diverse mix of classical and contemporary repertoire and a practice plan that addresses each student's needs and musical goals.

Drawing upon my extensive background as a performer in music and theater, I encourage stu
dents to take creative risks, to be expressive, and above all, to play with joy! All students have the opportunity to share their progress with family and friends during fun, low-stress, semi-annual recitals. (Participation is optional but highly encouraged!)

Teaching Materials:
I use the Faber and Faber Piano Adventures books as a foundation, but also incorporate other music, including classical, pop and theatre music, depending upon student interest and what I feel will best help my students to stretch and grow! Students are also welcome to request pieces they would like to learn; I will do my best to find or create an arrangement that's appropriate to your current skill level.

I have spent the past 12 years of my life dedicated to the guitar. While obtaining my Bachelor's degree in Guitar performance at Oberlin Conservatory I was employed by the conservatory's secondary lessons department. This studio featured a diverse mix of college students, adults, and children. In addition I am Suzuki method certified and I was a summer instructor at the Amherst School of Guitar in Buffalo, NY. I have experience working with children from as young as 5 to as old as 65.

About Lenny
Studying music has tremendous benefits including: discipline, self confidence, problem solving, and stronger connections in the brain! Understanding music can give you new perspectives on how to look at the world. If you have felt the power of music then you owe it to yourself to understand and harness what is already a part of you. OWN IT!

While studying with me we will work on many facets of music including technique, sight reading, critical listening, music theory, improvisation, and how to apply these skills to a piece of music to truly express yourself. My goal is to instill a deep understanding of music to my students while letting their individual sensibilities show.

STYLES: I can teach all styles of American music (i.e Rock, Blues, Country, Jazz, R&B etc.) as well as classical and fingerstyle.
I have a degree in classical
guitar and have performed with the Buffalo Philharmonic Orchestra as well as done concerts in the USA, Italy, and the UK.
I have experience playing in many different bands in many styles including: Rock, Reggae, African, Blues, and Jazz groups.

SUZUKI METHOD: I am trained and certified in the Suzuki Guitar Method and spent 3 years teaching Suzuki in studio with children as young as 5. This involves a significant parent-teacher-student commitment and regularly yields impressive results.

ON TALENT: I agree with Shin-ichi Suzuki that talent is irrelevant and a myth. I believe that the potential of all my students are the same but they come to me with various starting skills levels and all learn at a very different pace. I believe that the myth of “talent” really just means that the individual has had a long exposure to music. This is why I emphasize critical listening in my lessons. If you have a large knowledge of music and sounds in your head it makes it easier to make connections and better assess your ideas.

Lenny was my daughter's first instructor for guitar, she had two years of piano - she was not as motivated with the piano instructor as with Lenny. He took his time with any questions she had, he was totally patient with her, he really has a understanding of music and is able to explain it in a way with minimal if no confusion. No matter what kind of day he may have had at school he remained absolutely consistent from week to week with how he taught during the lesson. His focus was where it should be, even when other family members needed to take my daughter he was undaunted yet caring. I would highly recommend this young man hands down. I told him personally through emails how thankful and blessed we were with him as a teacher. I have other children, older, and I have had them through various teachers with various instruments and Lenny is definitely a 5-Star.

I like to pick out songs that someone actually likes, start out with something easy to get playing, and then learn other songs that bring in new techniques

I find that this method can actually bring a person who knows nothing about music to be a competent guitar player very quickly

About Tom
Hello everyone, I'm Tom.

I have always loved teaching people things that I enjoy, sharing my experience with others, and helping people realize their own potential.

I am a musician, a martial artist, and a general IT guru.

Music and martial arts runs in my family, and I was raised around them from a very young age.

As a child, I was always fascinated with computers, and had to know everything I could about them.

My teaching style is a bit unorthodox, focusing more on philosophy and personal introspection than traditional "memorize and practice" methods, and is very mind, body, and spirit oriented.

Feel free to ask me questions for more information.

I look forward to hearing from you.
