I teach the songs you want to learn, using method books only for structure and support. This is your chance to build effective fundamental skills and improve your technique, theory, and improvisation in Pop, Rock, Country, Folk, R&B, Soul, and other genres!

I offer lessons in Guitar for all levels, having 5+ years of teaching experience and 12 in music education. I've taught children from 7 years old to adults 60+ from many different backgrounds, and my lessons are always structured the same way: To serve your needs, your goals and allow you to enjoy the process of learning.

I began playing when I was 11, and I find that for any beginner, it's important to start with material that gets instant "musical" sound from the guitar. This consists on learning the chords to your favorite songs, some easy riffs or melodies, and dicovering the path you want to take on the instrument. Once you get more advanced, technical aspects like music theory and how to use it creatively take a more important role in the lessons. I have been playing instruments for years, such as Cello, Piano and of course Guitar. I have received the best instruction in learning and playing the guitar when I first started playing guitar in high school. My Guitar teacher has multiple degrees in teaching and playing guitar. I have also had the privilege of being his guitar teacher assistant for two years, which has helped me learn and grow as a teacher. To top everything off, I am also a two year pavan graduate which is a fine arts school. I really learned lots of cool stuff about guitar there and would love to share my knowledge with you!

My passions are technique and accuracy; by perfecting technique comes a deeper understanding of theory. I have lots of teaching methods that will encourage you to play your favorite songs and styles with the sounds you like.
I'll focus on the very basics of guitar theory in order to get to a higher level of understanding music theory.
I will challenge you! We will have lots of fun and you will see, hear, and feel your own improvements with my teachings.

I am a classical guitarist originally but I also play acoustic, electric, fingerstyle, blues, bluegrass, country, and rock, and I am a master of music theory. I have been teaching for over 20 years and playing and performing for 25 years. My specialty is fingerstyle and I can teach from beginner to the highest advanced levels. I teach at a major University and have been an assistant professor of guitar at several colleges. I currently play and perform in a band that plays all kinds of music from Folk to Funk, from Country to Blues, from Bluegrass to Ballads. I am a music theory specialist. I can teach it in general but I specialize in teaching theory for guitarists. Teaching music is one of my main passions in life!
