I studied Opera for many years and have developed a solid technique that I train all my students in. All of them have developed with that technique!

About Danielle
I have been taking the world by surprise since the age of 4. I began studying at Queens College at 6 years old and was a recital pianist by the age of 12. I was a consumer of music, from the Music Theory lessons on Saturdays, piano lessons on Thursdays and voice lessons on Saturday afternoons, my life was filled with music.

It is to no one's surprise that I completed my first demo at the age of 13 and was performing for Queens Colleges audiences at 14. I went on the rank high in the NYSSMA series in both piano and voice. I also went on to study music in college and began touring with gospel troupes nationally. Since then I has done many workshops, Master Classes, tour dates, theatre shows etc. Too many to date. I am a sought after teacher for voice, piano and broadway singing. : I endeavor to teach you a natural and easy vocal production; to teach you a good solid technique of singing and to help you develop confidence and a polished delivery as a singing artist on and off the stage.

Our work together is an intuitive journey of discovery. Your participation in giving feedback about what you are experiencing during our sessions together as well as what happens in your practice sessions and in your performances is an invaluable tool for us to discover and develop your voice.

Practice: I encourage you to practice 20 minutes a day. An hour is ideal. Singing is like anything that you want to master: it improves with work and investigation. The voice is a curiously individual element of each person and aside from the basics of technique no two voices work the same. Our work together is to develop your unique voice and to discover how it works. Working outside our sessions on a regular basis will help you take ownership of your voice and technique.

About Michael Douglas
I maintain very active performing and teaching careers. I have private voice studios on Long Island and in Manhattan and have taught singers and pianists in every genre of music for the last 28 years. I was on the faculty of New York University in the Music and Music Professions Department for 5 years. I was a coach in the Banff Centre's 'Voice through body and movement' workshop. Throughout my career as a vocal coach, I have worked with many cabaret artists as musical director, arranger and accompanist. Most notably, Debbie Boily's "Thank You for the Music"a one woman show with me at the piano, recorded live at Ovations in June 2004 Houston, Texas and subsequently performed in France, England and New York. Most recently, I recorded an opera with Jazz legend Anthony Braxton and a Jazz CD with Fred Ho. I have recorded operas in progress fo
r Atlantic Records and new works of composers on the BMI label. As a performer I won the prestigious Jessie award for "outstanding performance by an actor in a leading role" for my creation of the Marquis in "120 Songs for the Marquis de Sade" in the world premiere co-produced by Modern Baroque Opera and Vancouver New Music. My international debut was in Sweden, singing the lead role of Director in "Kafka's Chimp" by Welsh composer, John Metcalf. 1) You want to know what to expect from your vocal instrument on any given note and on any given word.
2) Training makes singing technique second nature; training relieves struggling to get the sound out and allows more focus on the performance.
3) Training allows for more tone coloration, a wider dynamic range, a full use and blending of the registers and greater stamina.
4) Extensive training and practical voice work gives a singer with long-range career aspirations the tools necessary to succeed in an incredibly competitive business. Whether the music is rock, pop, jazz, rhythm and blues, country, musical theater or classical, the trained singer can better meet the demands of a life on the stage as a singer.

Michael is awesome. I didn't need any singing lessons or opera lessons. I needed to learn how to project my voice better for public speaking and speaking in general. He was able to diagnosis my problems instantly and fixed things that I didn't know about.

And later we practiced a song and I discovered I had a good singing voice mostly because I was able to better project my voice from previous lessons.

Michael is one of the best vocal coaches out there. Highly recommended!

Marcelle is a wonderful teacher. She always makes you feel comfortable, listens to your concerns, and gives great tips/ways into establishing a good technique. I had lessons with her over the summer, and in that little time I felt like I'd grown a lot. That fall, I auditioned for a show at my university that made me sing in a style I've never been comfortable with. It was a really strenuous process and nearly all of the singers strained their voices. My voice adapted because I had a great foundation.

I have been helping students discover ease and joy in singing for over ten years, in multiple countries and many different styles. Each journey is different, but I am certain I can help you accomplish your goals. No two voices are alike, and we will work together to discover your particular strengths. Expect to laugh and have a lot of fun along the way!!!

Working with the physical structure of your face and body, we'll uncover ways to free you FROM yourself. Many bad vocal habits are learned through everyday life - together we can identify these to bring you closer to the optimal function of your voice. I will provide a foundation of knowledge for effective breathing and posture, as well as fill your 'toolbox' with many practical methods to alleviate tensions and encourage optimal resonance. As I am an active professional singer, I teach largely through demonstration accompanied by easily understandable technical language aimed to resonate with the student's natural sense memory

I have really enjoyed working with Alex-- He has given me some great tools and guidance for working on technique in a healthy way, and I have left every lesson excited to practice and apply what we work on. He always challenges me in a very constructive manner and makes lessons a safe place to take risks and experiment. As someone who has a degree in voice and has gone through a few teachers, I would definitely recommend him, weather you are a beginner or a more studied singer.

Alex is a brilliant man and a terrific professional singer who has incorporated and consolidated correct and admirable vocal knowledge and has an insight and perception into voices and the root cause of issues and the path to improving a voice. His understanding of the uniqueness of each voice with an underlying bel canto, vocally scientific and yet musically based methodology is outstanding. I would trust Alex with any singer and I know any voice type in any type of repertoire, musical theatre and jazz and even pop, would benefit greatly. he is a deep thinker, but an outgoing and generous individual with great patience. I admire him greatly and I know he is already an outstanding teacher, though his professional career is giving him a great balance, and a good insight into the world each singer is venturing into. A uniquely qualified person.

Not only is Alex a kind, patient, and encouraging teacher, but he also presents valuable technical information in a clear and comprehensible manner. I leave each lesson feeling vocally fresh and with new nuggets of vocal wisdom to think about during the week.

I also feel that I can apply the vocal technique Alex teaches to the many different genres of music that I sing (opera, musical theater, gospel, etc.)

Would highly recommend Alex!! He’s a gem!

Opera is one of the highest standards you can perform in music. I teach a classical approach which is designed to increase range, improve tone, develop breath control and diction in English, Italian, French, German and Latin. My lessons are tailored to your specific vocal goals and needs. With my training you will see rapid improvement. I have a BA degree in Music from The Leonard Davis Center for the Performing Arts of the City University of New York and Masters Degree in Education from California State University Sacramento. I have 20 years of experience teaching voice and performing classical, sacred and concert repertoire, oratorios and opera.

About Pamela
Hi! My name is Pam. If you have a song in your heart , a love for music and a desire to sing, let me show you how you can sing your best. As I began my own classical training I was frequently frustrated because my range was limited, and there were breaks in my voice. My teachers didn’t know how to help me so they criticized me and were not able to help me. It took years to find a mature, experienced teacher who understood how to use good vocal technique to help me express my artistic musicality.

After more than 20 years of teaching and performing, I know how to teach a successful vocal technique that works. I want to share the knowledge and technique I have acquired with you. Let me help you develop your voice to its fullest potential.

I teach a comprehensive course of study. It includes classical vocal techniques to improve range
, ear training, breath control, vibrato, tone production, diction and beginning music theory. My formal education includes Leonard Davis Center of Performing Arts Bachelor of Arts Degree - Music Major from the City University of New York, Masters degree in Education, and opera workshops and private lessons from Judith Raskin, Soprano and Mario Berini, Tenor of the Metropolitan Opera.

Pamela K's classical voice coaching was hugely responsible for preparing me to launch a professional singing career. She taught me correct breathing, the dynamics of shading, stage presence, foreign (and English) language diction and pronunciation, and most importantly the TECHNIQUE of classical singing.
Her coaching expertise and patience helped me to achieve my goals of tone/pitch, volume/dynamics and stage presence.
Thanks to Ms. K's coaching I landed the lead role last year in the Musicale des Artistes Repertory Co. production of "Candide"

Melynda Burdette Wintrol has been my teacher, my role model, my director of education, and most importantly one of best adult friends, and one of my many mothers in this business even though she loves being referred to as “the cool Aunt” for almost 5 years now. At age nine I went to ATMTC where Ms. Melynda was the Registrar, and I was a completely different person from the person I am today, I was shy and hiding. Through her guidance and training, not only has she skilled me in performance, she has made me the person I am today. I am no longer insecure with myself and actually love myself. Along with her incredibly wide range of vocal techniques, she is classically trained in Opera and can belt the heck out of any number you throw at her, she is a dancer as well in fact one of her special skills is her splits, but one of the best of her many many talents is she knows how to tie it all together with acting and tell a story. Aside from this she always wants everyone to succeed. She is what older actors call “the protective bubble” of the real acting world. She holds educational based auditions and she will calm you down if you are stressed, crying, or even breaking down. In a real audition directors would dismiss you. I’ve worked alongside her in professional productions as well and I can attest that there is no better teacher, nurturer, and friend in this business.
