I have been teaching classical and electric guitar for about 9 years and I structure my lessons according to a student's goals, and objectives on the instrument. My students have been able to learn tunes by ear, and understand chord progressions and structures, and play with a pick or finger style!
I specialize in rock, metal, classical and jazz, and I can also teach extended range guitars and alternate tunings. Learn to shred, sweep, alternate pick and hybrid pick like no one's business!

I've been playing guitar over 40 years and teaching guitar for over 30 years and have literally taught hundreds of students. A number of other guitar instructors and professional guitarists in the Atlanta area have been former students. I've performed professionally since I was 16. I teach reading music, tab reading, chord knowledge, strumming patterns, understanding rhythm notation, fretboard knowledge, finger picking, flatpicking, learning songs, improvisation, rock, country, blues, jazz, etc. I teach at every level of playing from beginner to pro-level players.

I've been teaching guitar for almost 20 years.
I am comfortable teaching from a book, but I generally teach guitar based upon the student's musical tastes and goals.
I can get beginners playing songs quickly and I can develop finger skills, soloing, and more advanced chording in students with more experience.
About David
I grew up in Birmingham, AL, Boston, MA, and Cleveland, OH, and was classically trained on violin in all three cities by members of their respective orchestras. I began studying theory in 7th grade at The Alabama School of Fine Arts. I continued theory lessons while in Boston at the New England Co

Ms. Rachel was an amazing vocal teacher! We would always start off with simple and fun warm-ups, breathing techniques, and would practice singing songs from musicals. My first couple lessons she taught me how to sing I Feel Pretty from West Side Story and we both had so much fun with it! After a little while we learned Cups from Pitch Perfect and then we got into the Vaccai book and I learned a couple songs from there. Overall Ms. Rachel was the best! She even offered to Skype a lesson with me since she moved. She cared about me and always helped me improve my voice in every way she could. I love her!

Steven is a great teacher and very nice person.
My son like him very much.
My son took lesson from few other guitar teachers, but he said Steven is the best teacher ever !"

She is a dedicated and loving teacher. She is the reason why Isa loves and enjoys music."

She explain really nice every single detail and have a lot of patience ... She is also open to listen to you and willing to answer any question you have ...
What I really love the most about her that she just guide you but let you chose the music and what you want to play ... And encourage you to follow what you love to play ...
She is awesome !"

I have only been taking lessons for a few months and beyond learning songs, Jason has given me instruction on guitar maintenance (beyond the everyday care of the instrument) and music theory. I think his holistic approach to playing the guitar really sets him apart from other instructors. I always come away from each lesson feeling that I learned something new and valuable.
Jason really caters to the individual learning styles of his students. I travel often for work and he has found ways for me to continue to learn, even if I don't have my instrument with me. He is also tremendously knowledgeable and patient. If a certain style of learning doesn't seem to be sticking, he will find new and creative ways to teach until the idea resonates with the student.
I feel very fortunate to have found Jason as an instructor. I unreservedly give him the highest of recommendations."

My daughter is 10 and has been taking lessons with Brandon for about 3 months now. She has learned a lot and is starting to feel more comfortable with the guitar. She was starting from a total beginner, so Brandon has also been teaching her the basics of music theory.
He is always in a good mood and has fun with the lesson, but also does a good job of keeping the focus on learning. He has a plan for what she needs to learn next, but he allows the student to make the choices and set the direction. He is patient about certain aspects being more difficult to learn.
It think Brandon could teach anyone to play guitar, since he really lets the student set the tone, but his demeanor is great for kids. My daughter looks up to him and knows that he is cool, which helps her remember that learning the guitar is cool.
I appreciate that he isn't an over/under communicator and that he is always there and on time for the lesson. He is professional, but not overly strict or "all-business."
Thanks Brandon!"

Many parents aren't sure how to best support their child in learning a new instrument. Guitar teacher Dylan P. shares his tips for parents to encourage their children to fall in love with the guitar... You can’t teach a child to love the guitar. You can lead them there, but they have to find it themselves. For a kid, guitar is a hard instrument to play. They have to dig their fingers into steel strings, make indents, and get calluses. They have to understand that each note has a letter, …
