I'm an experienced and dedicated cellist, having played with Orchestras and Chamber groups throughout my state. My lessons are focused on relaxation, and am as laid back or strict as the student needs. Whether you're a beginner or advanced, shooting to be a church player or a pro, I have taught students for that and am the teacher for you.

About Nicholas

Nicholas is a professional cellist that has studied since the age of 9. He has now been teaching the cello, viola, and violin for the past seven years for students of all ages, beginner to pre-college level. Throughout Nicholas’s career, he has been an active member of Honors Orchestras, Youth S

I started with no experience at all, and with Nicholas as my teacher I learned not only how to read music but I can play a few pieces of music! I would 10/10 recommend picking him as your instructor.

He was great! Made us feel comfortable as beginners to the instrument and helped direct us to the best sized violin for my daughters height and arms length.

The cello isn't a particularly easy instrument to learn, but I will say that it is SO worth it. It takes work, but what doesn't? Cello is my passion, and I hope I can help it become yours.

About Leah

I am 17 years old and a member of the Missouri Philharmonic Orchestra. I am also the principal cellist in the Play and Sing His Praises Homeschool Orchestra, where I not only enjoy playing with the orchestra, but also have the pleasure of being able to teach children and adults an instrument when t

Leah is an excellent teacher! She is the third cello instructor I have had, and she is by far the best. Not only is Leah a superb cellist herself, but she is great at explaining concepts in a clear and encouraging way. I am in my late 50s, and I don't grasp new material as quickly as a younger student probably would, but Leah is able to diagnose the difficulties I am having and suggest effective ways to overcome them. I cannot praise her enough.

Best instructor ever. Very patient. Knows how to handle an old guy like me. My playing doesn't really deserve someone as good, but I'm thankful to have her.

We love Rachel!!! She is patient and kind. She carefully explains what my daughter can do to improve her technique and tone. She is intentional in her instruction, making sure the basics are solid. She is an excellent bass instructor. Thanks Rachel!
Rebecca
My daughter was excited about the bass again after her lesson with Rachel. She is ready to step up her game and Rachel guided her patiently with thoughtful (not judgmental) encouragement. Looking forward to the next lesson 😊

I have taught students of various levels and ages in the past — so no matter your situation, we can work out goals together and progress your cello playing ability!

As a teacher, I aim to provide students with the skills they need to successfully play the cello. More importantly, I desire to develop and encourage a passion for learning within the student. Through the use of appropriate repertoire and supplemental materials, it is my goal for students to not only become technically proficient, but to value the importance of musicality within their playing. I long for all of my students to leave each lesson not only as a better musician, but also as a more curious person with a hunger for learning.

A native of Chicago, IL, Elena Denny recently relocated to Seattle, WA. Previously, she resided in the Twin Cities, MN, where she earned a master’s degree in Cello Performance at the University of Minnesota, studying with Tanya Remenikova. Kyle is a great piano teacher! He is very patient with my 12-year old son. Just yesterday he referred to him as “fun Kyle” because he teaches him small songs on the side that he can show friends and family or are for upcoming holidays. He’s always punctual and respectful of our family and home. I’m grateful to have found him!

Is Cello Hard to Learn? Read THIS Before Taking Lessons

Many beginning musicians wonder, “Is cello hard to learn?” The process of learning the cello is not difficult, but it’s important to keep in mind that the cello is not an instrument of instant gratification. It does require focused, daily practice time and a good teacher to guide you along the way. How far you progress with cello is a direct result of the amount of quality time you put into practicing the instrument. Even someone who puts in just 30 minutes a day will notice a signi …
