You will learn correct posture, note reading, tone production, and listening/duet skills. I will guide you through method books.I will accompany you on piano on the material and selections you like.
I have been teaching cello for 4 years. I have my own materials to help you advance in cello literacy. I want to be your next instructor.

About Mark
I teach according to your individual needs. I help you become successful on piano, violin, cello, viola, bass, guitar. I help you learn the instrument and learn to read music with my own ideas using fun worksheets and songs you really like to learn how to play. I fill your voids with activities such as practice techniques, sub-lessons, and ear training. I guide you toward proper posture, tone development, and the ability to keep a steady beat. I help you develop your musical independence by tweaking lessons to help you succeed. I help you have fun learning to read music for your instrument using my materials. I believe talent is not a factor in learning. Mastering an instrument is the result of effective instruction and step by step guidance toward foundations and skills. I love to teach private lessons because I believe in spreading the
word to make the great gift of playing music available to many. It is an inherited right and gift to enjoy a lifetime of personal satisfaction from playing a musical instrument. I love to help students build confidence and make progress. I help them problem solve by going through problems with them. I teach "how to think" and how to become a life long learner of the instrument. I love the challenge of finding ways to help students become successful at every step of the way. I am excited and enthused to be apart of student progress. I am influenced by many 20th Century performers including Van Cliburn, Oscar Peterson, George Shearing, Erroll Garner, Yudi Menuhin, Issac Stern and Horowitz among others. I am passionate in my teaching about providing an effective solution to my student's needs. I am pleased to announce my teaching has awarded a cello student a spot at Del Sol music high school for the 2017-2018 school year. this student of mine passed an audition January of 2017 as a result of my teaching. The student worked very hard and followed my instruction very well. Congratulations!! I am also pleased to announce two of my cello students have both passed auditions to play in the Las Vegas Youth Orchestra starting in September 2017. They both auditioned during May 2017. Congratulations to both of you!!! I also had a violin student who passed auditions for LVA (Las Vegas Academy) a couple of years ago. I have no connection to these organizations. These students all worked hard and followed my instruction. I can help you learn as well.

I am a professional educator who works with children and has the patience to help them. I am a performer who has over 30 years of public experience in solo playing as well as ensemble work. I have performed at Nordstrom for nine years, and performed at many private functions. I have performed classical as well as jazz music as part as my performance experience. I have taught private lessons for well over 10 years. I'm sorry, as of Summer 2016 I do not travel to student locations. I teach at my studio.

*** Lesson Details ***
I believe in personalizing your approach to the strangeness of the instrument. You need to learn much about posture, and proper tone production within the first year. Method books are not "how to" books. You need a teacher to guide you toward becoming familiar with the instrument. You also need to learn how to listen to the sounds you make as you play. To develop "musical independence" you need to become musically literate, develop tone production skills, and internalize a steady beat. Rhythm and tone are basic concepts that must be mastered to maximize pleasure in playing your instrument. Learning how to problem solve is another skill I teach so you can help yourself toward progress.
I believe in using the instrument in daily activities such as playing "Happy Birthday" at family get together. Christmas Songs or Hanukkah Songs can bring much joy during December family parties.
A musician in the house brings much joy during holidays and celebrations; and the families are brought closer together. Memories are created and last forever. Playing an instrument is exciting and expresses what can not be said using words. I believe in teaching students based on their strengths, and building upon them. I am excited to help you learn!!

I only teach in my own studio. I do not travel anymore.

You can advance quickly if you are taught to listen to yourself and use common sense, and make sense of the music theory I will teach you.I will guide you every step of the way to understand how music works. Music lessons are fun and enjoyable. I am pleased to guide you through your learning every step of the way. My students in Las Vegas have had much success with my teaching and guidance. I will succeed where others fail. You will reap the benefits of my professional instruction.

*** Studio Equipment ***
Grand Piano 5'1', Digital Piano 88 Keys, Violin, Viola, Bass Guitar ( 5 String Fretless), electric guitar (Fender), Upright Bass 3/4 Size French/German Bows.

In our lessons I focus primarily on improvements in technique, both left and right hand, and musical imagination, as these are the two cornerstones of musical excellency. Our lessons will always have a friendly atmosphere, but I will expect hard work from the student in order to maintain this atmosphere.

Music is an important part of our lives, and thus I am not a one-style type teacher. I work with everyone at their current level and develop lessons for them based upon their desires. I believe that teaching the classics is just as important to teaching current music and inspiring each of my students to reach beyond their current comfort zone. I stress developing good practice habits and fundamentals, as these make any style of playing more enjoyable.

I have thoroughly enjoyed my experience with Johanna. She has been encouraging, thoughtful and very informative as I began this exciting introduction to the cello. As a mature student with some musical training, she adjusted the pace of my lessons to leverage what I knew and focused on strong fundamentals to help me gain confidence on the instrument. She has pushed me to achieve my learning goals in a very short time. I look forward to each lesson to learn as much as I can under her skillful, steady guidance and support.

Looking to bring your cello playing to the next level? Look no further! I promote good technique while putting the FUN in fundamentals!

About Danielle
Hello! My name is Danielle and I'm a classical strings teacher (don't worry - I teach the fun stuff too!). I've been playing violin since age 5, viola since age 13, and 'cello since age 18. I have Bachelors Degrees in Violin Performance and Music Education from James Madison University, and I play both Violin and Viola in Symphonicity, the volunteer orchestra in Virginia Beach.

I've taught everything from private lessons to private school to public school and am a truly passionate teacher. I currently teach general music, choir and strings at an elementary school but I love to fill my nights/weekends with private students - that's where the real fun is!

I've taught ages 4-44 and all skill levels. I take particular pride in developing technique and fundamental skills while keeping lessons light hearted and fun! It is my ultimate goal
to spark a love and passion for music in each of my students.

I always encourage students to explore music on their own and bring me repertoire that they'd like to play (from their favorite movies, TV shows, video games, etc.). Those are a great and engaging supplement to the solo repertoire I choose!

Send me a message to get to know more about me and my teaching. I look forward to hearing from you!
Musically,
Danielle

I took a couple viola lessons from Ms. Deanna last year and it was an excellent experience. Ms. Deanna is an amazing teacher who teaches with great clarity and detail. She not only helped perfect my viola technique, she also taught me how to practice effectively. She taught me several time management methods and how to practice exactly what I need to practice with the limited time I have. With these methods, I am able to approach new music quickly and efficiently.

Experienced Music teacher of 2 years available for eager students of all experience levels and ages! I structure my lessons so students learn what they want to learn, while also building a strong foundation of their skills. I specialize in the Stringed Instruments, mostly classical music, but other varieties typically use Scales and Suzuki books and other solo books, and also have the following tools available to use during lessons: metronome, tuner, rosin, and other essentials.

About Sakinah
I was 10 years old when I started playing the violin. At the time, I was not able to afford an instrument and wasn't able to borrow one. So I had to sit in class and watch and learn through the book until one was assigned to me a few months later. It was fair to say I was behind. But the way the violin sounded, the rhythm I felt in my heart when I heard various Sonatas and other solos playing I discovered my love for this instrument. My Idol was violin soloist, Joshua Bell. And the first time our class took a field trip to the Kansas City Symphony to watch him rehearse, I worked and studied harder to play like him and ended up perfecting Vibrato watching him. From there, my love and deep understanding of the violin made me want learn more about stringed instruments and in middle school I was taught how to play the cello. Mastering both, I
took private lessons in both middle school and high school. I received 1 ratings in both District and State Championships several years in a row. I have 13 years experience playing stringed instruments. My love for music and wanting to share that love, watching the teachers I had that were so dear to me and pushed me to be my best, inspired me. It inspired me to want to be a Music Teacher and share what I learned on my own and what I was taught. And to help others master the skills necessary to be ALL they can be.
