An experienced guitar player of 15 years. Especially good with beginners including both very young and older students. It's never too early or late to start playing! Will cater a specific personal lesson plan to your desires to make sure we move at YOUR best pace. We'll build a solid foundation so that you can learn how to teach yourself and continue to grow and love music long after these lessons. We can get you up and running with your favorite tunes or start delving into the musical theory side of things. I make sure that our lessons are fun but also challenging and I make sure we spend some time learning how to build finger strength, how to improvise, and (most importantly) how to play with other musicians!

I started teaching myself guitar when I was 10. Later, in high-school, my teacher frustrated with my lack of practicing came up with an idea to light a fire under me. They suggested I teach a younger classmate. Not only did I finally start practicing, but I fell in love with teaching as well. Thanks to that, I have played over 1,000 shows, both solo and as an auxiliary musician for other touring acts. I performed on over 30 albums and have composed for radio, television, and internet video series, including sharing the stage with members of the 10,000 Maniacs. I've been featured in The New York Times, on the CBS Evening News, and on NPR.
I have over 6 years of experience teaching private lessons in addition to teaching seminars on songwriting and music business at Infinity Visual and Performing Arts and SUNY JCC.
While each student is different, I start them on the Mel Bay or Essential Elements books. From there we will cover a variety of genres from classical, jazz, rock and

My speciality is helping young children learn the basics of this instrument! To see them strum their first E chord is fantastic :). I do suggest a half-size guitar for students nine and younger.

I've been teaching Acoustic Guitar for 30 years. My students have gone on to play professionally, have their songs on iTunes and teach at the college level. Within the first few lessons, you'll be able to identify notes on the neck, start working with open position chords and using those chords to play simple songs. As time goes on you'll be able to play up the neck using movable position chords. (I love teaching this stage. Once the students learns how these chords work and how it saves them time learning, they are always very happy.) I specialize in fingerstyle playing but enjoy pickstyle as well. I typically use Hal Leonard series or Jerry Synder's Guitar Instructor book 1 and 2 to get started. They cover open position chords, moveable chords, pickstyle, fingerstyle, staff notation reading, bass runs, etc. I love working with students of all ages and experience levels and I can't wait to meet you!

I have known Mr . Tomas for a short period of time and believe me if he can teach me and I am 70 years old and I have tired taking lessons before and they never worked out . Mr . Tomas is the person to go with ."
William is exceptional with many of the technical aspects that improved my playing efficiency and increased my safety on the guitar. You might ask, "What do I mean by safety?" He taught me how to hold my guitar and reinforces playing it in a manner that reduces the potential for injuries and allows me to play for longer periods of time without getting tired. That's very important if you love the guitar!
No matter what style of playing I'm interested in, William has been excellent in showing me how to achieve the sound I'm looking for. If I want to play a particular song and he doesn't know it, all I have to do is play it on I-Tunes for him. He immediately shows me how to play the song, or adapt it to my level so that I can.
William is a patient and enthusiastic teacher that encourages and challenges me to continue to improve. That's why I continue to take lessons from him and recommend him to anyone who is serious about learning to play.
Cheers,"

Greg also has a plenty of patience for his students and is really good at encouraging growth and understanding in his students. Sometimes I would come in with a song I wanted to learn that was way more advanced than I was at the time, but rather than say I couldn't play it or to wait until later, he would take that difficult song and help break it down into what I did know and we'd go from there and as I result I felt I learned quickly, as well as understood how to break down songs into their more basic elements which would become later on for when I wrote my own music or lead in bands.
All in all a great experience and I feel like I owe a lot of my musical ability to the lessons I took with Greg."

I highly recommend anyone interested in learning guitar contact Chris, and have a conversation with him about your experience, musical tastes, and playing goals. He is easy to talk with and takes an immediate interest in tailoring instruction to match your goals and works to incorporate lessons into your particular lifestyle.
I cannot overstate how fortunate I am to have found Chris as a guitar teacher."
