I've been playing guitar the better half of my life. I like to use method books, but also teach in a more hands on style where the student learns chords and scales and songs as well.

About Jeremy
A Berklee College of Music graduate and a professional music instructor for over ten years, I can help you to reach your musical goals. I tailor lessons to suit your needs covering everything from skill development, music theory and musicianship, to expanding your repertoire and composing original work. I play and teach drums, piano, bass and guitar. I am new to Seattle, having just moved from San Francisco where I performed regularly at a wide array of venues such as Great American Music Hall, Freight and Salvage, Yerba Buena Center for the Arts, Bimbos, Bottom of the Hill, Savanna Jazz, Amnesia, Ashkenaz, Mystic Theater and Cafe Du Nord. I play many styles of music. Jazz, rock, funk, punk, blue-grass... you name it. I can show you how to play what you want to play.

*** Lesson Details ***
I believe in a strong musical foundati
on and that learning to play music should be fun!

*** Specialties ***
Whatever style the student is attempting, I stress proper technique and understanding of theory.

Cary is a great instructor, he is very relatable in how he describes singing and really helped me better understand the basic fundamentals that will eventually get me where I've always wanted to be as a singer, I couldn't ask for a better coach.

Cary is an incredible instructor 😊 We've been impressed with how quickly both of our boys have been able to learn and play the guitar without ever having any other previous lessons. Cary is very encouraging and patient. Both of my boys have completely different learning styles and abilities. I appreciated how Cary knew exactly how to meet each of their needs individually and help build confidence in their ability to perform and to recognize their individual strengths versus comparing their learning level. Cary has a passion for music and teaching and it clearly shows in his instruction. I've had no reservation of highly recommending him to friends and family who have also been pleased with their experience and results.

I teach guitar lessons for beginner level up to intermediate. I use FJH curriculum for younger students and New York Guitar school curriculum for older students. Students will learn how to read music, play chords and rhythms, and learn how to play their favorite songs!

About Kelsey
My name is Kelsey, and I teach Guitar, Voice, and Songwriting lessons. I loved learning to play guitar when I was 14 years old as I was learning to write my own songs and perform them for various audiences across Michigan. And now that I've been playing, singing and writing for 17 years, have my Bachelor's in Music from Cornerstone University, and years of touring experience, it has been my privilege the past 6 years to teach these skills to students of all ages out of my home studio! I love to teach and I love music and sharing this passion with my students every week is one of my greatest joys!
My goal for each student is to help you achieve your goals. Whether that's performing live, or just learning to play and/or sing your favorite songs, or jump starting your songwriting. My guitar students have seen much success in learning new c
hords and getting to practice their favorite songs and master new techniques that make them sound more professional. My voice students have seen so much development in their tone, pitch recognition, breath support, and over all vocal strength as we set goals for their individual voices. And my songwriting students have learned to write their own songs, and even ways to get ideas flowing when they feel the dreaded "writer's block". Whatever your goals we can work on achieving them together!

I went into banjo lessons not knowing if I could master the instrument or not, being nearly 70 years old. While by no means a master (and never going to be), I have learned so much from Sam and he has shown such patience with me. I often leave my lessons wondering how he ever puts up with me - but he does. His encourgement, laid-back style, expertise and knowledge of music (plus theory) and the banjo is impressive. His good nature makes my lessons so much more pleasant. I would say Sam is a a great teacher for both a beginner or an accomplished musician or in between. He likes to talk and demonstrate (nice and slowly if requested) so I would recommend hour-long lessons at first.

I've been playing guitar for over half my life. Music is the legacy of my family. My Brothers, Parents, Uncles, Grandparents, and Great Grandparents were all guitarists. I've picked up many techniques observing them, and experimenting over the years. It's time for me to pass those along. I specialise in folk, alt-rock blues, gospel, rock, indie pop, metal, and punk. By day I fix computers and provide technical support for the Department of Agriculture.
