My first priority is to inspire and motive. Find out the students wants and needs, then tackle them head on. As we do this proper technique is a must, it is the difference between a good guitarist and a great guitarist. Music theory and understand the language of music. The better we know the language the better we can speak it. Learn songs and music is a must ...it is the reason why we play.

I've had 5 lessons with Alex and have already seen incredible improvement. Alex's methodology is to teach lessons but taking a song you really would like to learn, and walking you through the steps necessary to be playing it seamlessly and quickly. He throws in musical theory and other important elements of learning the instrument in there as well. I love that he always emails me a rundown of our lesson via email after the lesson so I can be reminded of things when practicing. He is extremely accommodating with his schedule, which I also really appreciate. Overall, it's been an incredibly enjoyable experience and I recommend Alex to anyone trying to learn!

I'm a jazz guitarist and I teach the Berklee Method for contemporary music.

My curriculum is an in-depth study of music theory, improvisation and modern technique.

I do not focus on brutal sight-reading or memorization, but I teach through technical exercises that equip students with the faculty needed to analyze, read and write music.

It's great for students who are into jazz or pop and want to pursue Berklee instead of a classical conservatory.

The knowledge will allow you to join any band, regardless of genre, while building your songwriting and improvisational chops.

About Wake
I love teaching music! Through attentive 1on1 instruction I develop a program to suit the player's goals. I emphasize technique with drills designed to raise my students' skills evenly across a wide range of categories, like picking, fretting, scale patterns, chord shapes, chord progressions, rhythm training, and ear training. I can guide a complete beginner toward being able to play songs and have fun. For the more serious student I have a plan that will make you a better player and musician guaranteed.

Wake's creativity and patients have made each lesson work so well for me. Despite all the questions I ask and difficulties I feel I have with the music and learning the whole new language of music, he is always encouraging and points out my progress - which I feel make his a great teacher. I would recommend Wake for both beginners and advanced guitarists.

We have been working with Wake for a month and he is awesome!! He is very smart, creative and makes learning fun. His knowledge about music is impressive and he is able to adjust to our child's desire to advance in guitar as well as with overall music theory. He is able to change his teaching strategy based on her level of understanding. When met with a challenge of a broken arm he quickly rose to the occasion and adapted to help our daughter continue her learning! Impressive response time, adaptation and eager to help a serious student.

Learning Guitar can be fun! From beginners to advanced. With almost 30 years of playing and 10+ years of teaching experience, I can help you learn guitar while having fun. Any genre and both acoustic and electric are welcomed.
For beginners, we will start from the basics. Guitar and gear talk. Favorite band and music. Basic chords and notes.
For intermediate, we will talk about simple solos. Basic scales, chords, triads and arpeggios.
For advanced, we will talk about some great solos played by the masters(jazz, rock, blues). Guitar harmony and voice leading.

I really love teaching, sharing my musical knowledge and meeeing new people.

About Steven
Hello!
I am a musician, guitarist and a educator. I have been playing guitar for over 30 years. I have been playing Rock, Blues, Jazz, Funk and Gypsy guitar. I have graduated from Berklee College of Music '07. At that time, I've played as an accompanist for the Berklee Vocal Dept. for many years and played shows with various faculties. I have been teaching music since 1999 privately. Also I am a faculty at the Seoul Digital University Music Dept. for 6 years and counting.

Interaction between players are one of the most important elements in music. As a musician, I highly value that. As for my teaching, I love to interact with my students. Hopefully I can let them know how music is wonderful like I did.

Thank you.
