About Mia

I am a professional singer and actress with opera and musical theater credits. Singing is my passion! I love to sing, and I LOVE to teach others to sing! The human voice is the most natural instrument of all, and helping others to bring out the beauty of the natural instrument that lies within them is something to which I am very devoted. I like to make students feel comfortable and at ease in lessons, and you will find that I am very warm and friendly!

Every student is unique, with their own strengths, their own areas for improvement, and their own preference for certain styles of singing. I can help you find what style makes your heart sing!

I have a broad range of credits, including the Broadway National Tour of Fiddler On The Roof with Theodore Bikel (Tzeitel understudy), and Off-Broadway in Fiorello (Marie) and The Rose Ta

ttoo (Flora). Among my many regional credits are Oliver at the Chiswick Park Theater in Sudbury, MA (Nancy), Camelot with Noel Harrison at the North Shore Music Theater in Beverly, MA (Nimue/Guinevere understudy), and Is There Life After High School with Desi Arnaz, Jr. and Sharon Lawrence at the Burt Reynolds Theater in Jupiter, FL. I currently hold the post of Soloist at First Church of Christ, Scientist, Needham, and am a Guest Soloist for The Mother Church in Boston. I have a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree from the Cincinnati Conservatory of Music, where I had four amazing years working with the head of the Music Theatre program, the brilliant and innovative director, Worth Gardner, and music director, Oscar Kosarin. I have received additional training with many renowned pedagogues, including American actress and theatre director, Suzanne Shepherd, New York City, lyric soprano, Sari Gruber, mezzo-soprano Sondra Kelly, and coaches Arlene Shrut from the Juilliard School, Michelle Alexander with Boston Lyric Opera, conductor Gary Wedow, as well as Roger Malouf with the Metropolitan Opera.

Mia’s experience came through right away and I was glad I found her through this site. We started working on a few things to improve technique and Mia pointed out several major foundational concepts to begin thinking about. The lesson was a lot of fun!

She is amazing as a teacher and a singer. I was looking for formal training to advance in my singing and understand what I am doing wrong. And Mia have helped me so much in just 3 classes. As a singer I felt stuck and wanted to advance my skills and I was very doubtful of teachers but I can say with confidence Mia is the perfect teacher for me. She makes it so comfortable for me to explore my voice and range. So far everything she has taught me has helped me realize my mistakes that were holding me back from singing at my best. She is also very accommodating in terms of class schedule. I always look forward to my class with her.

Alyssa is an upbeat, encouraging, and patient teacher. Her own singing voice is beautiful, and she sings very professionally in a wide range of genres. She is reliable, pleasant, sincere, and capable. She gives each student her full attention and tailors her lessons to each one's particular talent (as well as where they're in need of improvement). Private Opera Voice Teacher

Learning to sing can be scary! It is my mission to provide a safe, supportive learning environment for students where they can develop skills to be a confident performer. It is important to me that students study in genres that they are the most comfortable; I myself have a love of all genres of music, including classical, musical theater, pop, rock, folk, and even punk. In my studio, students will learn and maintain a healthy technique for their instrument to be able to achieve any of their creative or professional goals. In addition to learning voice technique, we will strive towards a well-rounded music education that includes music theory, ear-training, and music literacy.

About Terry

I am a professional soprano, flutist, and composer; I graduated from Bridgewater State University with a Bachelor of Arts in Music. While in school, I won the 2014 Concerto Competition and was awarded an ATP Grant in 2015 for my original compositions for mezzo-soprano and piano. Since graduating, I have been active in the south shore and greater Boston area performing all kinds of Classical and Musical Theater works.

Voice students can expect to learn the essentials of healthy voice technique including proper posture, breathing, onset, etc, in a fun and supportive teaching environment. It is important to me that students are given the tools to be independent singers and artists ; so they can understand any vocal problems they are experiencing with the ability to solve it.

I love all genres of music and I prefer when students sing what

they are most comfortable performing; healthy technique can be learned within any genre.

I started working with Penny when I was 11 years old and she has done wonders to my voice. When I first started singing, I had no training and had a very little range. Thanks to Penny, I have grown not only as a singer, but I am a stronger performer as well. She helped me with everything: from building my repertoire, to audition prep, and through the college application process. I am now studying at Dean College and getting my BA in Musical Theatre, and I still see Penny for lessons when I am home. I owe all of my success to Penny’s training!!

My goal is to help you understand the workings of your instrument and work together to build a proper foundation of breath to be singing in whatever style you love! As a singer who once struggled with performance anxiety, I strive to create a stress free and joyful environment to be able to explore, play and create without judgement. Each student will receive a lesson that is catered to their own individual needs, this includes subjects such as: vocal technique, diction, anatomy, music theory, ear training, sight singing, note reading and repertoire choice.

About Haley

I am a professional singer and educator, having experience in the classroom and private studio. I graduated from Ithaca College with two degrees, a Bachelors of Music in Vocal Performance, and a Bachelors of Music in Music Education. I am currently working towards my Master of Music in Vocal Pedagogy at Boston Conservatory at Berklee College of Music.

My belief as a teacher of voice, is that every person has a beautiful instrument and can explore their own individual strengths through a foundation of breath, an understanding of vocal technique, and release of tension.

Students can expect a playful and creative environment where we work as a team to uncover the layers of your living instrument. I focus on nurturing a confidence in you own voice and a toolbox of strategies to conquer performance anxiety.

My personal love is classical

voice, but I also teach contemporary voice, and musical theater.
