I have been playing the acoustic guitar for 13 years. As a recent graduate from Southeastern Louisiana University, I have been teaching guitar and ukulele lessons as well as classes since the spring of 2017. I hold a bachelor's degree in music performance with my primary instrument being the guitar.
I can also help you to acquire a solid foundation of music theory knowledge. You can better understand music theory concepts if they are paired with guitar techniques to supplement them.
If you are a complete beginner, do not be afraid! I will help you to learn at a pace which is comfortable but still effective for you. These lessons will be focused and designed to fit YOUR needs. Let's learn together :)

My goal as an instructor is to keep the lessons fresh, fun, interesting, and to ultimately guide the students to better teach themselves as they gain experience and familiarity with the instrument and music. Students can have their lessons catered to the music and styles they wish to pursue. Lessons are tailored to each individual student so that we can build upon their strengths and focus on lessons to improve weaker areas. Students will learn how to build dexterity, use proper technique, and be creative. Every student has different goals, some really want to learn theory and read music. Others may simply want to learn to strum a few chords. Whatever the goal, I can provide the instructions to help the student succeed!

I teach young children using fun songs, games and classical guitar technique. I also teach adults and specialize in contemporary guitar as well as folk genres of Latin America. I emphasize good posture, tone and musicality, and always a high level of enjoyment with the process!

I teach all levels of acoustic guitar. From learning how to play your first chords using only one finger to full fledged fingerpicked arrangements of your favorite songs in alternate tunings and more!

I will show you how to play songs, chords, and lead riffs right away. My lessons will also explain theoretical concepts to illuminate your songwriting, improvisation, and jamming. I have extensive experience with audio production and am more than happy to incorporate that into the lesson. My studio in Brooklyn has a private yard where lessons can be given while following social distancing guidelines. I am flexible regarding what students want out of their lessons. If you want to write music, I can help you write, record, and publish songs to streaming services. If you want to play in a band, I can arrange for jam sessions with other musicians.
