I have taught students of various levels and ages in the past — so no matter your situation, we can work out goals together and progress your cello playing ability!

As a teacher, I aim to provide students with the skills they need to successfully play the cello. More importantly, I desire to develop and encourage a passion for learning within the student. Through the use of appropriate repertoire and supplemental materials, it is my goal for students to not only become technically proficient, but to value the importance of musicality within their playing. I long for all of my students to leave each lesson not only as a better musician, but also as a more curious person with a hunger for learning.

I have been teaching cello privately for over 40 years! I teach and have taught beginners of all ages up to university students. I enjoy teaching young children and have a full studio of adult learners. My specialty is the Suzuki method, but I teach using a wide variety of materials. I have a Master's degree in Cello Performance, and have an active playing career of orchestra, chamber music, and solo performance. I run my own chamber music business.

After graduating from the Juilliard School of Music I played with the New Jersey Symphony for 3 years and then moved to Switzerland where I was Principal cellist with the Beil Orchestra. I have spent 30 years teaching cello with good success. I enjoying helping students getting better. I teach the rudiments of the bow arm, bow grip and how to change the direction of the bow.

I have been teaching beginning cello for over twenty years. I teach both traditional western methods and Suzuki style. I have a Doctorate in Music. I am very experienced teaching all ages. I have been playing viola for 17 years and teaching violin, viola, and cello for 8 years. I graduated from the University of West Florida in 2016 with a Bachelor of Arts in Music Performance - Viola. My viola instructor was Dr. Leonid Yanovskiy, current and former concert master of the Pensacola Symphony Orchestra, Northwest Florida Symphony Orchestra, and many others.
While earning my degree, I also learned how to play violin and cello and am able to teach them up to an intermediate level.
My teaching ideology is that ANYONE can learn an instrument at any age. I have taught students as young as 4 and as old as 65! Many adult students of mine have expressed difficulty and even shame in trying to find a teacher for them who would take them on, simply because they were starting as an adult.
We don't have to train for the symphony (unless you want to!); your goals are my goals and I will help you reach them!

In my teaching, I focus on developing strong technical foundation, which is crucial to develop at a very early stage for a future success, and nurturing students’ creativity and natural musical talents. As an active concert musican, I understand challenges that students may face in learning cello and how inspiring can be a productive practicing! I don't teach how to play and be dependant on a teacher, but rather how to analyze and enhance your practicing patterns, listen to yourself, think, be creative and independant: everything that encompasses joy of playing music

I help my students to build up their resume for university applications: audition to honor orchestras, win competitions, pass CM and RCM tests.
