am a classically-trained opera singer. I have a Bachelors and Masters in Vocal Performance and Vocal Pedagogy (teaching), and have sung professionally in the U.S. and Europe. I have sung Opera, Operetta, Musical Theater and Concerts, as well as choral and cantorial singing. I have been teaching voice since 1980, and have worked with all ages of singers, singing all kinds of music. Breathing is the most important element for every type of singing, to support the voice and produce the best sound. For each student, I strive to help them breathe better, so they can sing at their best and enjoy their singing more. I speak and read 5 languages, which helps me teach my students correct pronunciation of their song texts.

Mrs. B is a wonderful and dedicated teacher who focuses diligently during class sessions. She thoroughly explains terms and technique and is friendly and sociable. Her extensive knowledge of languages comes extremely useful in Italian arias and other folk songs as to explain the meanings of words and to convey motion. Her classes are enjoyable and fun, while still being comprehensively academic.

Singing is super fun but can also be discouraging when obstacles such as strain and vocal fatigue set in. My goals as a voice teacher are to boost the confidence of singers through developing reliable breathing technique, a connected support system and a clear, easy tone. I have been teaching voice for the past seven years, have a bachelors in voice, and am working towards a masters in voice from Florida State University where I teach undergraduate musical theater and classical students. Along with voice technique lessons, I frequently coach my students in singing German, Italian, and French as well as English. If you're interested in developing your singing game and wonder if we would be a good fit, send me a message!
About Joseph

It is always exciting when a vocal student is ready to start studying his or her first operatic aria! One of the best things about being a classical singer is knowing you have so many great years ahead of you. After all, you’re considered in your prime in your 40s. That being said, realize that the voice you have now and the repertoire you’ll first study will be very, very different from what you sing later on in your career.
