Having had experience in Australian Symphony Orchestras and ensembles, Peter has the passion and expertise to take you as far as you want to go

About Peter
I began piano lessons at four years of age, and was blessed to have an amazing piano teacher, who taught me for 14 years. She gave me a passion to teach others and impart to them a love for music. I have carried on that calling and taught hundreds of adults and children over the last 30 years. I am very thorough in my method and customize each lesson around the goals and dreams of each student. I incorporate theory, ear training and technical into all my lessons, regardless of the style of music they are learning. This gives my students an all-round musical education and appreciation for this wonderful gift they have in their hands.

I have experience in the professional music world as a pianist and french horn player, performing with the Sydney Symphony Orchestra, Australian Opera Chorus and Orchestra, Sydney Sinfonia, Sydney Philharmo
nic Orchestra and Choir, as well as productions of "Cats", "Phantom of the Opera", Sesame Street, and touring all over Australia, U.S.A. and Israel. I have also been a part of the worship teams at Hillsong Church and C3 Church Australia.

I studied at the Sydney Conservatorium of Music, and also received my Licentiate Diploma from the Trinity College of London (L.T.C.L.) in French Horn (Teaching) and Licentiate Diploma from the Trinity College of London (L.T.C.L.) in Piano (Performance). So my experience not only comes from an inspiring teacher, but also from hundreds of performances on stages across the world working with the finest of musicians, singers, conductors and worship leaders.

I love music, and more so, love imparting it to others.

*** Lesson Details ***
Students come away from their lessons inspired and excited about their ability to accomplish their dreams. Whether it is to play 'Phantom of the Opera' or an Adele song, Debussy's Claire De Lune or Jingle Bells, I show them how to do it and help them get there. I am very thorough, taking no short cuts, but making it fun to learn an instrument. You will be amazed at what you are playing in three to six months!

*** Specialties ***
Classical, Jazz, Rock, Contemporary Christian

My son has studied french horn with Peter for 2 years now, and he looks forward to lessons every week. Under his guidance I've watched my teenager excel as a musician, and I've grown to admire Peter's teaching methods. We drive halfway across town to get to there ... because HE'S WORTH IT. It's true that Peter listens to his student's goals. He has literally tailored the lessons around my sons auditions while simultaneously giving him the necessary building blocks to continue growing musically.

Every lesson is grounded in the reinforcement of fundamentals such as long tones, lip slurs, and articulation exercises. From there, I cater my lessons to cover a wide range of playing styles and pieces based on the students interests and goals. This can include classical etudes, band music, and orchestral excerpts. It can also include jazz improvisation, solo transcription, and listening exercises.

About Jake
Jake has been teaching private lessons since 2011 and is currently available to teach lessons at your home. Jake has helped students build a strong musical foundation through fundamentals. His students have performed at national competitions and won auditions across the country.

Jake received his training at Arizona State University and University of Wisconsin - Oshkosh from 2011-2015 where he received a degree in Music. A student of Bill Adam, Alan Siebert, and other prestigous trumpeters, I develop the best approach and warmup for each student.

About Sara
Hi! My name is Sara. My studio began in 2000, teaching one violin student. I took a break and went to college to earn my A.A. in Music and my Piano Performance Certificate from Riverside Community College in California. I graduated Great Distinction and was on the Dean's list. I received many piano and academic scholarships. While in college I started my studio in Riverside California teaching Piano to an autistic child. I taught him 3 times a week and made exceptional progress. I enjoyed it so much I started teaching full time in 2008 teaching piano, harp, violin, voice, guitar, flute and clarinet. Soon I had 50 students and created a 501 (c) (3) non-profit music school. My students and I perform for the public, including nursing homes. The performances are important for the students progress as well as the Piano Guild where students are
adjudicated by judges in a non competitive environment. Moving back to my hometown, I am excited to meet new students!

This was my daughter's first lesson. My daughter was pretty nervous at first, but Sara made us both feel very comfortable and at ease. She has such patience and grace and her kindness just flows from her. She puts a smile on your face and assures confidence within you that you can learn to play the violin. We look forward to many more lessons with Sara! Thank you Sara, and God bless you!

I’ve had the opportunity to study and perform with many great players from around the country and I’m excited to pass what I’ve learned to you! When teaching I love to integrate concepts from jazz, music theory, and composition as it allows you to more deeply understand exercises and pieces.

About Christian
Hello! My name is Christian and I’m a trumpeter, composer/arranger, and educator based out of Denver. I picked up trumpet and music seriously fifteen years ago, though I had many years of experience banging on pots and pans before that! In the time since, music has taken me all across the country and brought me many amazing opportunities; from performing the National Anthem alongside the US Army Herald Trumpets at the 2015 NCAA basketball final, to hearing my sound forever pressed into vinyl and sold across the country. My hope as a teacher is to provide students with the technical skills and mindset that will allow them to thrive in situations like those and find the same joy that I have playing music.

In 2017 I earned my master’s degree in trumpet performance with a jazz emphasis from the University of Denver, and prior to that I rec
eived my bachelor’s degree in jazz from Indiana University’s Jacobs School of Music. While attaining those degrees I also focused on becoming a more well-rounded musician by learning to compose/arrange, associate music theory with my playing, and learn how to approach music of any genre. In addition to the standard course load of music theory I also served as a teaching assistant in sophomore level theory at DU for my two years there.

I hope to hear from you soon and pass on the “secrets” of trumpet!
