I love showing other people how to play musical instruments, especially cello! If you're a beginner, I'll get you playing music right away; note-reading, scales, and stuff can come later. If you've been playing for a little while, we can work together to help you learn new skills, new music, and practice techniques that can help you progress quickly while avoiding frustration.

About Sammy

Hello, I'm Sammy! Making music is one of my favorite things to do. I believe that music is for everyone and lessons are about you, the student. So we can tailor your lessons to whatever you need. Whether you're a beginner, playing/learning for fun, or looking to enhance your playing, I can help

I teach beginner cello primarily using the Suzuki books, but supplement with other materials when needed. My students work on scales and rhythm constantly to improve their tone and musicality as well as technique. I teach classical, religious, fiddle, and more. I also teach group ensembles, trios, quartets, and I work with students on their school orchestral and audition pieces.

"Aaron is a talented instructor. He has worked with our son for more than 2 years teaching him cello and music theory. Aaron has the gift of being an outstanding musician, but also the gift of being able to impart that knowledge to others in a meaningful way, such that even young children and teens learn easily from his instruction. We have recommended Aaron to others and he is equally as good with adults. His manner is professional, he takes pride in the accomplishments of his students and is dedicated to the success of his students."

"Johnny has been a fantastic teacher for my 12-year old beginning cello player. He managed to keep even the introductory lessons (parts of the instrument, posture, etc.) engaging and now that she is actually making music it is even better. Not only is Johnny incredibly talented and knowledgeable, but he also has a knack for explaining concepts to beginners. My daughter truly looks forward to her weekly lessons!"

She Is a lovely young woman who obviously enjoys her craft and is skilled at teaching in a compassionate way yet sets a high standard for her student. It would be important for a student to be self-motivated to PRACTICE diligently. Jessica does not demand that a student practice, but expects that her student will have practiced.
