On acoustic guitar, we will learn chords, chord progressions, reading music, technique, and rhythms.

About Hissael

I have been teaching and tutoring students for 6 years now. I teach math and guitar. The thing I love most about my teaching isn't the end result of a student's passing report card or a student's accomplishment of learning a difficult musical piece. It is the effort that takes place between the stu

John Krauss has been teaching our 4th grade boy acoustic guitar for the past year. When he started, our son could not clap a rhythm to save his life but now is learning to strum on beat and follow along with lessons successfully. John challenges our 9 year old with different styles and techniques that push him to the next level. He encourages our child in a warm and respectful way. We appreciate John's professionalism and patience with working with a young student. We highly recommend him. "John is a nice guy who helps me learn new chords and licks. I like my lessons!" says the 4th grader.

I thought trying to learn to play the guitar at the age of 35 with no musical background, with kids and a full time job was a daunting task. That was until I met John. I have had 30 minute lessons with John for the past year and a half. There was a steep learning curve for me in the beginning, but John remained very patient and encouraging. His knowledge of music and his ability to explain and teach in a way that I could understand is second to none! I can now play a couple dozen songs and have a great foundation of skills to play many many more! I recommend John to anyone of all ages who wish to learn how to play the guitar.

We are very happy that our son takes guitar lessons with John Krauss. John is a very skilled and versatile guitar teacher. He was adept at discovering my son's specific interests and learning style(s) and has tailored his lessons accordingly. My son enjoys, and looks forward to his lessons.
John brings a lot of experience as a musician to his teaching. For much of his life he has performed on stage as a Rock and Jazz guitarist. In addition to teaching music, John Krauss is an award winning sound engineer. He has recorded musical ensembles and soloists, as well as, audio books by Archbishop Desmond Tutu, Senator Fred Thompson, and other well known authors, speakers, and public figures.

My method is to teach in a way where the student can develop their own style while learning the basics of theory and technique. Depending on the skill level the student is currently comfortable with will determine where we will start. I like to make sure my students understand the first position of the instrument before moving on. We will learn this position by playing songs and developing a unique playing style for the student. From there we will move up the instrument learning about chord progressions and how they are arranged on the instrument.

About Dylan

I want you or your child to love and enjoy music as much as I do! No two people learn in exactly the same way so I like to work with my students to establish their own personal goals and cater my lessons to those goals. I also am a big advocate of teaching people to play by ear using ear training methods combined with music reading skills and music theory.

About Rusty

I started playing Bass for my church at the age of 17. After graduating High School I Started purusing a degree in Theatre & Vocal Performance at Central Arizona College. I was selected twice to compete in the KCACTF based on performances in musicals and was accepted into the Advanced Jazz Choir in

I consider myself an intermediate guitar player. I know a few chords, and have learned a few songs, but I didn’t really understand how to improvise. Rusty is a great teacher and has really helped me understand various aspects of music theory. I have definitely improved as a guitarist and a musician. I highly recommend Rusty for all skill levels

Taught my granddaughter guitar twice a week for around 6 months and he was great. He even helped us pick out a guitar for her birthday that she fell in love with because it was purple. She can even play by ear now! We also loved going to see him perform, he has a fantastic voice an a big presence on stage! She'd still be doing lessons with him now if we had the time!

"Nice and solid first lesson. Jason hit the ground running by quickly assessing where I was and then providing me with info to help me move forward. I walked away with straight-forward exercises to get me ready for my next lesson. I appreciated that Jason reached out before my appointment to gauge my experience and was very positive as I moved (that is stumbled) forward. Jason manages to jam a bunch of information in a short amount of time without rushing. I look forward to my next lesson and am encouraged to put in the time to put my best foot forward."

"I started with Jeff 3 weeks ago and am very happy with him & lessons. I started playing guitar off & on as a folkie in the 1960's, no lessons - learned by osmosis + a couple of songbooks with chord diagrams, played off & on, (mostly off). I retired in July 2014 (at 71) and promised myself I would really learn to play. He started by asking me to play the chords I knew, and what kinds of music I wanted to play, and started me off with basic strums etc. For me at least it is a good approach. We go at my pace and no pressure - + a lot of talk about life in America etc. Plan to continue with him and highly recommend him. (I'm the old guy in the picture)"

"Jimmy is one of the best instructors I have come across. Not only does he have tremendous knowledge and experience but he makes his students feel welcomed and brings a personal connection with the student rather than the other instructors who were straight to the point. I went through music theory which helped me a lot because history of music and the roots of it really is a fundamental value to have when picking up any instrument. I recommend jimmy to anyone who has been thinking about music, who's never know how to play music and who has been scared to start again because of prior instructors. Jimmy can help with all."
