My classes always emphasize developing a strong and confident foundation of technique that will help you to have fun and easily sing whatever genres you choose. My name is Sarah-Kate, and I have been teaching vocal lessons for many years. My goal is to make learning fun and productive. I know that singing in front of someone can cause anxiety, so I aim to make my lessons as laid-back and stress-free as possible (while still learning!). I tell my students that their lessons are a "judgement-free zone."

I teach proper singing technique (including breathing, posture, tonality, etc.) and how to read music if the student doesn't already know. The styles I teach run the gamut from pop to musical theater to classical. Especially for younger/beginning students, I like to let them choose what they'd like to sing (while offering guidance if necessary).

I have taught people from age five up through adults. Whether you want to be the next American Idol or just sound better in the shower, I'm your teacher!

Classically trained, I know how to explain technique, breathing, and expression to people young to old. I'm great for if you are a beginner or if you have been around and want to expand your singing and performance.

I will meet you wherever you are, and together we will develop a personalized plan to meet your goals. I will combine - all in an easy-to understand format - music theory, phonetic training, foreign language studies, classical training, voice theory, ear training, vocal training for multiple styles, vocal/auditory health, and music analysis to create the best plan to make you into the musician you want to be!

Singing is a very technical thing. The human voice is an instrument like any other that you can understand and use in a technical manner. But also your voice is a direct extension of your spirit, your identity, your history, and your passions that others can directly perceive! To truly live in your voice, to be proud of your voice, is to be proud of yourself, fundamentally. I will use my clinical knowledge and my personal knowledge as a singer to teach you to use your voice technically without robbing singing of its soul.

Experienced voice teacher available for eager students of all experience levels and ages! I structure my lessons so students learn what they want to learn, while also helping them to become a well-rounded musician. I specialize in classical/operatic singing, and also have the following tools available to use during lessons: large keyboard, several songbooks, laptop and speakers, and accompaniment CDs. I always make sure my students are singing in a healthy and sustainable way.

We absolutely LOVE music and your teacher, Suzanne, is an active performer and full time musician. You can take voice lessons, piano lessons, or a one hour COMBINATION lesson. You will have a PIANIST at all voice lessons. You will have OPTIONAL PERFORMING CLASSES once a month and recitals in the fall and spring. You will develop CONFIDENCE and MEMORIZATION skills.
